;) New is good but old is BETTER! So bring back some of that "old black magic" from the past. Get a storyline for the old W.S.B. with Anna and Robert in to stop terrorists from bringing into Port Charles something that could destroy the world. Come on if ever there was a moment when this could even be plausible it is now!

Put less emphasis on the mob and all the shootings and killings that go along with it. Instead focus more on relationships...Luke and Laura would be a good place to start. When Laura came back GH was #1 in the ratings. Which proves people want to see them.

I think you are making a huge mistake in pinning the murder on Alan Quartermaine and then killing him off with a heart attack.
The Quartermaines have been sorely underused in the past few years.
I am tired of all the mob stuff. It should only be a part of the show not all of it. Oh yes, and all these girls sleeping around and getting pregnant. I think that is over the top. Everyone gets pregnant at the same time? I understand that the young actors get more time on air but the classic Quartermaine living room "discussions" still have a place in today's times. I miss the following lines:
Edward: "....not while your living in my house!"
Monica: "It's my house."
Alan: "I gave it to you."
These lines were worked into many of the Quartermaine family meetings and we funny to hear over and over. They have been underused on the soap. What a waste.

Oh Yes, and I agree that the WSB should come back. I thought of that a couple of months ago. Perfect timing in the world today. I just love the idea of the secret room with all the gadgets etc. that used to be on the show.
Scorpio should be heading up another mission and let's leave the mob out of it. I can watch the sopranos if I want that.

While I agree they are underutilizing some of the veteran characters such as: Bobbie, Robert, Alan, Monica, etc., the young characters are what get the younger generations interested in the show to begin with. I'm sure that when the people who are now 40 & 50 started watching the show in their teen & 20 years, they were more interested in Monica, Alan, Luke, Robert, Bobbie, etc. than the veteran characters at that time because they were the younger characters when you started watching. I'm sure that when I'm 40 I'll be on this same type of thread saying bring back, Sonny, Jason, Liz, Emily, Carly & Nikolas, because these are the characters who got me hooked & interested in watching the show.

1. Jason and Sam have a baby and get married
2. bring cournty back i know she's dead but this is a soap oprea i want her to raise spencer and be with nickolas i hate him and emily togther.
3.bring back brenda i want her to be with sonny again
4. kill ric i hate him
5. put lucky and liz back togther and make that baby his if they don't do that let her die after giving birth to the baby and let jason and sam raise the baby togther.
6.bring some new hottiest on the show
7. give lulu a boyfriend already
8. give the black girl a story line why gh never give black people story lines. when they do give them story lines they're getting killed off.
9. bring back A.J to cause some more trouble
10. keep laura on the show i want my luke and laura

It is a delicate balance to keep the "veteran" watchers happy while attracting a new fan base. GH realizes that life is a cycle and 20 years from now it's the Sam/Liz fans who will be begging for more front burner stories like the "Good old Days" in 2006! To me, the challenge for the writers isn't so much who's on camera, as it is what kind of stories can we create that will be innovative and let today's soaps evolve -- instead of trying to recreate old patterns of successs.

GH differentiated itself in the 70's by creating something new - the Super Couple! Other shows scrambled to create their own. Now, how can GH break new ground? Experimenting with new super couple combinations just isn't enough, in my opinion. Do we introduce a new kind of business that allows for interesting dynamics between the characters? Do we get political? Does the hospital send manpower over to Iraq? (Okay, maybe these aren't the freshest of concepts, I'm just trying to demonstrate a new direction or brand for the show -- not just new storylines.)

I guess I'm trying to say that the Super Couple was great. GH owns it in the history books. Let's not rest on our laurels; it's time to innovate again! ALL of our characters would become energized if only the foundation were fresh.

And in case the writers just "stay the course", I echo other posters' wishes - put the mob on the back burner and bring back the hospital dynamics!

I would say...to get rid of a few characters....and get Sam pregnant and let Jasam get married....make Liz's baby be Lucky and let Liz and Lucky get back together.....and to bring back Laura ...

I would tell the Wrighters. That they did a superb and outstanding job when they created the character of Spinelli and cast Branford Anderson as Spinelli. Spinelli is definitely a great and needed addition to GH. Spinelli must stay on GH. I just love Spinelli so much. Thank you so very much for created the character of Spinelli and cast Branford Anderson as Spinelli.

keep alan quartermaine alive. monica needs him.
if it is budget wise, get rid of maxie, spinelli, professor pete, ric, colleen, and any one else that doesnt belong.

i have been a fan since the show started. i loved all the people on the show, but the quartermaines were the ones who kept me tuning in, plus luke and lucy. the comedy in this family has me rolling everytime they get together. i do like all the young players today, but they cant compare to the veteran actors. killing alan would be as bad as killing lila. instead of geting rid of them, try to find a great story using them instead. find a story involving alan, monica, bobbi, robert,anna etc. how about a love story involving robert and bobbi, or noah and monica, alan and anna? or bring back lucy and have her and alan get together again. talk about laughs,
