General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

So I will share with you all what I wrote to Steve/Becky this past weekend.


"Hi Steve / Becky,

This is my first ever fan-mail… and it goes out to the two of you for portraying my favorite characters on General Hospital. I would like to point out by saying that I have never really watched any soaps, or daytime television for that matter, except GH, which too has only been recent. But I just wanted to personally praise you both for your brilliant portrayal of Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber.

I was introduced to General Hospital by my friends around a decade ago when I started high school. And I have been an on-again and off-again GH watcher… mainly because I have always been focused and busy with school, university, and now home & office. Still, I would go online and check weekly updates to see what was happening. Sometimes the storylines were a bit, hmmm, out there, but I still followed to see what happened to some of the characters I liked. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago, when I saw a push in Jason & Elizabeth pairing, that I started watching GH not just regularly but obsessively. So now, I have become a huge fan of the Jason/Elizabeth coupling, or as most of us like to call them, Liason!

The entire GH cast in general is extremely talented, but to me, you two stand out the most. Steve, you are such a versatile lead actor… it amazes me how well you can juggle serious, comedic, and teary scenes all packed in one episode. And Becky, you are just so multi-talented that I forget you play a supporting role on GH; to me you are a front-runner and one of the best lead actresses, period. For me, there can be no other actor who can play Jason Morgan or Elizabeth Webber. You two originated those characters, and then owned it, so now I can’t picture anyone else but you two in the roles of Jason and Elizabeth.

There are a lot of reasons why I absolutely adore Liason, and it doesn’t at all have to do with the fact that I am a hopeless romantic!  I won’t however list them all, since it will become too long of a thesis. Elizabeth/Jason coupling is all about romance, friendship, trust, honesty and tenderness… nothing can beat that or come near to it. I have watched them since they first bonded at Jake’s and became friends… and no matter how life for these two characters drifted apart, they still ended up being drawn to each other in time of need and comfort. They are the IT couple of General Hospital. Personally I have dubbed them a super-couple, even if they are not together right now, which I hope is to change very soon. The angst has always been there with these two, but right now it has become too much, as their storyline keeps getting stalled for whatever reason.

Currently, it is a little hard to tune into General Hospital especially since it feels like I am watching the Crimson paint dry or the Zacharra family hour. We hardly even see Becky on screen… there is so much potential for the character Elizabeth, however, it feels as though one of the main supporting roles on GH is being under-utilized. I don’t mind the mob side to GH, just hope that some of the stalled storylines, and that includes for both Elizabeth and Jason to be a family with Cameron & Jake, to pick up again. See, that’s how badly I have become hooked to this show. In fact, to keep my O.L.D (Obsessive Liason Disorder) in check, I chat a bit with some nice ladies on Soaps.com message board. All of them (specifically & I will use their screen-names: Vanrainmom, Wishing, Shelrick, Dimples, Canadiana) cheer a big Hi to you both. In fact they are the ones to provide me with the contact address for your fan-mail.


All in all, I just wanted to let you both know that you guys are amazing actors and you bring to the characters you portray that ‘it’ factor. I just hope seeing you two on GH for a very long time (wishful thinking on my part), and I hope for the characters Elizabeth and Jason, to truly become the next super couple of GH!! It’s been a long time coming for these two characters, and no one deserves it more than Liason.

esprit, I just finished reading your letter to Steve and Becky. Wow, what a beautifully written letter. I have no doubt they will be truly appreciative of all your praise. Kudos to you for taking the time out to show them they are still the story—that they ARE a super couple despite their storyline being stalled at the moment.

I've been feeling a little Liason depressed b/c of the stall but your letter cheered me right up. Thanks for that too.

Just seen bits & pieces of the show today. Still waiting for something to happen on anything at this point.

Maybe it is because the lack of Liason, I hvae turned my attention to Carly and Kate. It amuses me and keeps me from banging my head against a wall

Esprit.....What a wonderful written letter!! I am sure both SB and ReH will enjoy reading it and feel the sameway as you do with certain stuff!! Way to go and congratulations on your first letter and hope to hear you keep it up!!

K girls for those of you that are getting discouraged with Liason....lets keep our spirits up and remember that these two crazy kids love one another....I mean SERIOUSLY ladies...Jason Morgan and Elizabeth Webber actually say.."I love you!!"

Those were only words that we wished to hear years of hoping that they would saying something...instead walking away thinking they were doing the "right" thing without saying a word or using phrases like..."don't you know what you mean to me"..."there are no words to describe the way I feel for you"....now they have said it and mean it...They have embraced that love but with that they have to be given time to actually understand it and sort out what they want to do with this love!! Their road isn't going to be easy because Jason's life is different and it isn't the kind of life that Jason would choose for her or the boys but it is the one that he has to offer....but they need to understand their love but it is such a beautiful thing to actually hear them state their love to one another!!

So don't get discouraged...lets support this supercouple because truly that is what they will be!!!

Espirit, Such a wonderful letter I think they will enjoy it as much as we Liason fans did. Probably more at this time.
