Canadiana...Good question about the fallout of Michael's shooting!!

Here is my two cents (okay more like 10) but so far the fallout seems as if Jason and Elizabeth have endured it more then the others. Everyone else seems to have picked up their heartache and moved on, where as Jason mostly is still reeling from it!!

However, I think Lulu touched on this subject a bit way before Michael's shooting saying that Carly told her that Jason's feels too much, and shut down!! Saying she (Lulu) believes that Jason doesn't allow himself to show how he feels because he would drown in it!! I have to say that I believe that to be true. The shooting of Michael has absolutely smacked Jason in the face and he doesn't know how to deal with all those emotions so he shuts down, and does what he knows to do and that is to push away those he holds dear!! The thought of that happening to Elizabeth or one of the boys would ruin Jason. All that emotion has to go somewhere, just like the nite in the rain but this time Elizabeth was there once again!! She calmed the emotions within him and he had a chance to vent and leaned on her when he needed it.

I know everyone deals with things differently and I am sure that Carly and Sonny are dealing with it too but Jason seems to have really endured the situation that in turn has effected Liason as a couple. Reality is cold and mean at times but I do believe that they are only becoming stronger thru this and when they are a couple it will be very hard to even tear these two apart!!

I absolutly love and miss Liason and Liz! I wish that she was on more, I can't wait to see more of them and it better be soon!!!

I don't post often but I love "Road to Nowhere". I'm a chronic lurker but my family and I just spent the last 8days in Cancun Mexico at the Solaris Resort.

We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend it for anyone who hasn't been, not Italy but the light was beautiful there anyway lol.

I didn't want to miss GH so I was happy to see GH aired there at the hotel at 2pm. It was a New York station but couldn't really remember much more than that except that it was channel 4 on the TV. Anyway my husband teased me each day, when I would head to our room at 1:45. Last Tuesday, when he made a comment, a woman two pool chairs away, popped up and said her name was Kerri and she worked at Prospect. I didn't understand until she clarified and said ABC. She then wanted to chat, she asked which ABC shows I watched and I said only GH. She was pleased and also asked which characters I liked. She thought I was a Maurice fan, (she said I would be shocked but he gets masses and masses of mail) but when I said I only watched for Elizabeth and Jason, but was unhappy with the direction of the show lately. She then asked if I wrote in, I explained I hadn't ever done so, she said I really should. She also said HANDWRITTEN letters were the best, much better than form letters or post cards. She also said that Becky and Nancy got lots of fanmail, though Becky's had dropped in the last few months. She said those letters get the most attention but that all letters to the actors and actresses were kept track of, because it indicated fan interest and loyalty. She said letters to writers and producers were important too but actual letters to the actors or actresses carried more weight than I would believe.

She was a very nice and genuine person. I truly believe everything she told me, in fact when I asked about the individual actors, she said they really didn't have any dealings with them but that most of the actors and actresses had really good reputations. Most were extremely professional and thought highly of, she laughed when I said I didn't like Carly or Sam or Sonny because she said I shouldn't confuse the actors with the role because all three were just as nice as my favs like Nancy and Becky and John York.

Anyway what she said really stuck with me, I actually wrote 5 letters while there if you can believe it. I thought there might be other fans like myself who'd never written before and I wanted to pass along my experience. Thanks for listening and I guess I'll go back to lurking lol.

Jason and Elizabeth are the ones to endure the most hurt with the fallout. They know they love each other... even after breaking up, have maintained so, and have also went on to state that they'd rather be alone than with someone else. Atleast Elizabeth can confide in Robin. But even then, she is very discreet about her emotions. As for Jason, he has shut down and the only 2 people who can really help him through this are: Monica and Elizabeth, but, he has isolated himself for everyone else's safety. Atleast he has Spinelli.

Everyone else involved have had a shoulder to lean on... but these two are slowly killing themselves by staying apart.

Can we hit 1500 pages by 19 July ??!! That is the date this thread was created. So it'd be a first b'day celebration!

Canadiana I certianly do believe Jason and Liz have taken the brunt of it all where Micheals shooting is concerned. Both Jason and Liz were ready to come forward and claim each other and the boys, publicly! But with Micheals shooting both had to take a step back and re-evaluate what they were doing and the possiblity of anything happening to the boys. With, both Jason and Liz, the boys' safety is priority. both Jason and Liz are terrified that should they come forward that something aweful could happen. I especially don't think Jason really realizes that Liz the boys can still get hurt even though they are not with him. They can get hurt just by walking across the street and being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

So with that being said both Jason and Liz are miserable and seem to think they can live with out each other, which they can't! Butwhat what they do best is put others first, even if it costs them everything.

Carly has gotten Sonny to give up the boys and believes it is for the best, really all it is, is a bandaid for her guilt. All is right with the world so to speak! Sonny is going forward by putting all his energy into his life with Kate. Just so he does not have to think about his carelessness that put Micheal in a coma.

I do believe that Sonny and Carly are grieving, still and probably always will, but they just seem to be going on with life at times like nothing has happened.

IA! That Jason and Liz have teken the worst of Micheal's shooting. To me this doesn't make since at all. Jason is the one that can't let go but Sonny has move on to Kate with no problem. Carly held on a whie now her concern has move to Kate, Sonny, and Jax like nothing has changed. That makes no since. They are the parents not Jason.


I don't know i'm just down! soi don't want to write about it anymore.

Thanks everyone for responding to my question (wish, esprit, burst, liz-fan, sorry if I've forgotten anyone else). I guess I'll have to give you my take on the situation too. LOL. I'll be back later tonight to post my thoughts... and to help get us to 2000 by the end of the month!

I agree that Michael's shooting has affected Jason and Liz the most. But I also think it has affected Patrick. Patrick seeing the way Sonny was shut out helped Patrick to realize that he didn't want to be like Sonny. Kind of sad that someone like Patrick seems to learned more than Michael's own parents.
