Olivia has to be the dumbest chick in Port Charles for now. Everybody knows how Sonny feels about ALL of his children. But, not knowing that his oldest child even exist that's CRAP! And, not to mention Dante doesn't know he's Sonny son and trying to get evidence on him is just wrong. However, it is all Olivia's fault. She's going to cause Sonny & Dante to HATE HER with a passion. Dante will eventually forgive her but Sonny WON'T. I just hope Dante doesn't get hurt when the truth does come out along with the fact that Dante was just as clueless as Sonny.

Her reasoning is understandable. But when Sonny finds out that almost all of the people in town knew things that he didn't, it will not sit well with him. He will be angry with her but eventually he'll get over it once he really think about Dante as his son. He's going to remember the converstations he and Dante had and he will be proud of him.

I remember Sonny saying that the palm reader at Coney Island told him when he was a kid that when he grew up he was going to be the Chief of Police. Dante is as close as it's going to get.

If Olivia had of told Sonny the whole story then there wouldn't have been a s/l. Sonny needs some down time.

Dante is lucky he has a mother like Olivia. She protected him from Sonny and look at what a man he became with out that low life in his life. I applaud Olivia for what she did, Dante should too.

If Dante grew up with Sonny as his father, he would be as twisted as the rest of the Corinthos clan….i.e. Michael….Kristina. Olivia did the right thing by her son look at what a wonderful man he turned out to be!

I'm thinking it worked well for her at the time. Dante's okay. Well, he's a little crazy like Sonny, but at least it's on the right side of the law.

But she needs to know when to give it up. I think Dante might forgive her if she tells him but if someone else does...dum, dum, DAH!

I hope for the sake of their relationship he will. But Olivia needs to grow up her son has, at this point she just tyring to cover her tracks and Kate reminded her of that. How is it she can try and keep a son and father Mr. Sir apart just because he's the head of a mob organization, when she herself is in love with the Mob Prince. I just get a little confused and annoyed with her, she acts all though, but she's really scared.

Her reasoning is fine as far as keeping the secret to a point. But Dante is a grown man now and the way she keeps running after him when there's trouble, she herself will get him hurt more then anyone else. I also wonder how he will feel bringing Sonny down then finding out it's his father and the secret has been kept all these years. My main word here is he's an "adult" now and should know the truth.

All you have to do is take a look at the children Sonny has fathered/influenced (either by being there for them or by not being there for them) to see that Olivia did the best (and most loving) thing possible for Dante by not telling anyone that he was Sonny's child.

There's Michael...yeah, his highest aspiration is to finish high school zippity-quick so he can be a junior mobster.

There's Kristina...because she has such a poor male role model in her life, she's allowing herself to be slapped around by a nightmare of a boyfriend who is only interested in her for one thing.

There's Morgan...he appears to be a normal kid at this stage but that's only because Jax has been his father figure...I'm not even sure if Sonny remembers Morgan is his...plus, he's young yet...Sonny will ruin him eventually too.

Then there's Dante...he's a stand-up guy, fighting the good fight with a strong moral compass...he respects and admires women beyond getting another notch on his bedpost. Thank goodness Olivia had the good sense to raise her boy within her loving extended family with their sense of fun and warmth. Gosh only knows what kind of man he'd have turned into with Sonny exerting influence over his development. Well...that's assuming he'd have managed to grow-up at all...there's as good a chance as any that he would not have even made it to adulthood. Michael almost missed his chance.

All that aside, it is time for Olivia to fess up to Sonny now. There is too big a possibility that Dante could be hurt or killed at this stage.

ITA that Olivia did the right thing, otherwise he'd be just like his daddy, shooting 'em up at the OK Corral and having half a dozen kids from different women. I doubt I'd like him very much!!

You ALL make good points. Olivia not telling Dominic (Dante)when he was a child is understandable. However, as an adult he has the right to make that decision for himself wheither or not he chooses to have a relationship with his father. Dominic's anger will come as a result of HIS deciding choice being TAKEN AWAY from him by his mother. And speaking from experience not being raise with your biological parent does not guarantee that the habits and ways of the biological parent will not exisit. It's ALL about choice. We all have the right to choose. The responsibity of the parent is to teach the child and to nurture them that when the time comes for him/her to step up and make crucial decisions in their life as adults the parent will have the satisfaction of knowing that if the child makes that unpopular decision it won't be because of what or how his/her child was raised. Again it's about CHOICE

That's pretty much what I said in my post. He has the right to make his own choice now as an adult.

I completely agree with Olivia's decision to keep Dante's paternity a secret. If I'd been stupid enough to get knocked up by a deliquient like Sonny, I'd have done exactly the same thing. But now that Dante is an adult, she should tell him who his father is. And the Dante can make the decision about whether Sonny should be told. I'm hoping TPTB do the unexpected and have Dante side with his mother and decide that donating sperm doesn't erase all the crime Sonny's committed.

I totally disagree with everything that Olivia has done to protect her son. She betrayed the most basic of rules between a parent and child and that is to love your children enough never to lie to them. When her son finds out the truth, everything she has done to try and protect him will backfire on her in a major way because she has lied to Dante all his life and once the truth comes out, it will not only destroy his relationship with her but future choices. Everything she has tried to protect him from is what he will become and she will have no one to blame but herself. The son will become the father, he's already a part of the father's world and then Dante's pretense will become a reality because he will know his world was built on lies and I'm speaking from experience.
