I find it fascinating that JJ is uttering the same sort of lines that GV but the effect is totally different. Whereas GV's Lucky seemed too nice and I felt sorry for him for being such a patsy, it appears that JJ can take care of himself. Maybe it's just the history between him and RH and TG, but there's a fire there that makes me think Liz will turn around and drop Nicholas. I hope so. There really is chemistry between these two and I hope it gets explored. Nicholas is turning into a crazy person and is so off=base pursuing the love of his brother's life. On the other hand, nobody can stop those feelings if they're there.

I agree about most of what you are saying as to JJ and GV's Lucky. However I differ on the chemistry thing. I just don't see chemistry between them anymore.

I see the chemistry . I never did with GVs Lucky. My only beef right now, and I know it's a temp thing, but it's all the recapping dialogue. There are so many people who are tuning in again just to see JJ that all we're getting is dialogue telling us what's been going on the past few years. I get it, I understand why, I'm just gonna be happy when they stop rehashing it all. It makes the convos seem forced. Also, JJ gets better. I can see a nervousness that isn't ordinarily and I'll be glad when he settles in.

Ok, so I'm NOT the only one. I am trying SO hard to be objective and sit on the fence for at least a couple of weeks, but it's getting hard.

I will say that I liked the scenes with Luke today. A different energy. Not better or worse, just different and interesting to watch.

not sure I am comfortable comparing the two Luckys HOWEVER I do want to comment that I do NOT believe that JJ's Lucky is getting the same sort of lines that GV's Lucky did. I actually commented to a friend about this almost directly after JJ's scenes on Tuesday! I don't see the writers writing the same way just another reason I think it is hard to compare the two Luckys. I think that GH themselves are treating the two very differently.

First of all I should admit I think I have a crush on JJ. Lol I'm serious. There's just something about him.... so I'm a bit of a softy when watching him.
But I think Shels is right... the lines are not the same. It's interesting because the writing is very similar to how Lucky was written when JJ first played him. Making me wonder how much JJ plays with his own lines. The feel is so similar to before....
I've always felt a bro/sis chemistry with Liz and Lucky.... at least JJ's Lucky. They don't sizzle, but work great together. I would love to have them in s/l's together w/o the romance for awhile first. I do think RH and TC are doing some great chemistry right now tho.

I must admit JJ brings light to the character Lucky than GV but, GV is ultra sexy and his handsome face will be missed. Just hate hate hate the storyline, I want Lucjy to get some back bone and make Liz be honest with her feeling, or get a new lasting loving longing relatinship.

My friend and I were having the exact same discussion last night. I have heard Luke and Lucky have that conversation 1000 times and Old Lucky always came off a little pathetic and weak. Jonathan Jackson just has a confidence and strength that resonates. GV was clearly the hotter Lucky but for some reason he never quite had the same bravado. I am loving JJ!

I agree with what you said. I'm not seeing it. In some ways to me it all seems forced.

I should also add for me one week GV was there and then hey there's JJ, so it's like I am forced to accept it instead of easing into it. The same thing kind of happened with Rebecca/Em.

I agree. First, he's never been so blatantly giving and accepting of Elizabeth. GV's Lucky was written more "biting his tongue" sort of. Yes, loving but not so..."take all the time you need, I'll wait". More frustrated maybe?

And the writing with regard to scenes with Lucky and Luke? Well, GV would have been bitter and angry but JJ's Lucky is more cynical and sarcastic.

At least that's my take.

PS: On this board alone I've noticed a huge change in opinions due to the switch of the actors.

I see a big contrast as well and agree with alikat about the difference in the two acting styles. Not necessarily a good or a bad thing. Just different.

GV's Lucky was older, stoic, reserved. JJ's Lucky seems younger, more emotional, kinda doughy.

I wish the story was better but it's been an interesting twist for me.

I don't see the chemistry either. He still did the same things to Elizabeth, they can't erase that history just b/c it's JJ. While I don't like what she's doing now, he kind of put himself in that situation by pushing the engagement AND the engagement party when she said she needed more time. She would have come clean but then he threw that party. He's no innocent in all of this!!

I noticed the nervousness too!! I don't blame him tho b/c he hasn't been on GH for what, 10 yrs now, so being back after that long has to have some effect. He'll settle in like u said and get comfortable again. JJ is only going to be on for 6 mos and from what I've heard him coming back is more to END LL2 then reunite them. They couldn't do that anyway. How could they if he's only back for such a short time??

IA and I don't think it's fair that they write JJ's Lucky the way he was always written and then write GV's Lucky like a rotten doofus who's verbally and physically abusive to Elizabeth. I don't think it's fair either that they give JJ preferential treatment over GV. They should have written them the same way but that's JMO.

JJ is a emmy winner actor and GV is not. I think JJ is a better actor than GV. Thats my opinion and the difference.
Since he has been on he has rocked his scenes with TG and Becky.
