Do I see a glimmer of the old Luke lately? |

I think that Luke is much better when he is with his true love:Laura. I don't(never have)thought that he really loves Tracy. I believe that he likes her, but he doesn't really love her. He will never love anyone the way he does Laura. |

I can appreciate your POV. For whatever reason, I never felt the magic. I remember back when Leslie first found laura and her marriage to Scott, the rape, etc. It was a good s/l. It definitely saved GH from being cancelled, but to me it's over. I'd like to see Laura come back, but not to Luke. But either way, I'm glad to see Luke not playing the constant drunk all the time. The last year before his summer vacation was almost embarrassing to watch. |

Quote cherrycola: Do I see a glimmer of the old Luke lately? He doesn't seem to be quite at the bottom of the bottle ALL the time anymore. And he and Tracy getting along is much better than them squabbling about his wandering hands/eyes. I agree. I've been watching vintage GH and I'd forgotten Luke the family man. He did it pretty well. I loved him in today's episode being all responsible. |

The scene between him and JJ's lucky today took me back 10yrs. Then when he called him 'cowboy' I just smiled |

As for Luke, yes coming back this time he is more enjoyable. I guess the fact that he is now trying to "father" Ethan and KNOWS he will lose Tracy if he doesn't could be part of it. In my own mind, I think it has to do with JJ coming back to...that's what I tell myself! As for Luke and Laura, yes they had something great but I think their time has passed but I can appreciate the nostalgia some have for them. I like Luke AWAY from Laura because he's more himself, though I do enjoy their scenes together. I would like Laura to come back to be a MOTHER, not Luke's wife. |

Yes Cherry...I've seen a subtle shift in the writing for Luke (and the rest of the Spencer clan) over the last couple of weeks. Anthony Geary is a sophisticated enough actor to pull off the shift in such a way that it's not jarring to the viewers. Perhaps I'm overly optimistic but I'm getting this really great feeling that GH is taking its families more seriously now. Did you notice the full circle we got yesterday with Jonathan Jackson back as Lucky...starting with the clever "Remember me?" to the scene at the Star with Luke and ending with him talking to mom on the telephone. Very nice work GH! |

I'm enjoying this side of Luke also and him with Tracy because clearly he's been trying to move on with his life. I'm mellowing a bit toward's Ethan as well. |

I like how Luke is acting better now a days. He's becoming the character everyon grew to love. I think it's a perfect fit especially with JJ back to help Luke along. |

Kinda interesting that Lucky came right out and said that luke was a drunk today. Has he actually come right out and said it before? |
