General Hospital - MESSAGE BOARDS

I know I'm probably in the minority on this but I kinda feel sorry for Claudia. I just think it's her Dad's fault that she is the way she is. He treats her badly and it seems to me all she ever wanted was someone to love her and accept her. The only one that did was Johnny and we all know how that turned out. Now that she's finally found a place where she fits in and is finally being accepted of Sonny it looks like it's not going to last. I know, I know she brought it all on herself. I just can't help but feel a little sorry for her. I wish the writer's had went a different way with her character and made her someone the viewers could like. I think that's why SB is leaving...because she didn't like playing the bad guy.

The Claudia character could have been taken in so many different directions. I empathize with Claudia.
Michael's shooting was an accident. Of course these things don't happen in real life, but for an hour every day, we suspend our imagination and live in Port Charles. So we have to understand that in Claudia's world it would be a completely logical reaction to put out a hit on Sonny after what Sonny did to Johnny.
Claudia's father has hated, despised and abused her all her life.
Claudia loves Johnny even more than herself. Johnny wanted to take out Sonny himself. He may not have known exactly what Claudia was going to do but he knew it would be lethal & he approved it.
Michael was not supposed to be at the warehouse. Kate had no business taking him there. Even the psycho Jerry Jax said he never would have fired a gun with a child present.
Jason, Sonny, Johnny, AZ, Luke, Laura, Alexis, Skye, Lila, Nikolas and many other PC residents have directly or indirectly caused the death of somebody. Certainly some of them were accidental but deaths still occurred. Michael's shooting was an accident too.
She visited Michael once a month and was genuinely sorry that he was shot - if she hadn't been visiting him, he would never have known she had a part in his shooting.
Claudia lost a baby that she was carrying. One of Sonny's kids was responsible for that too.
Despite all this, it is Claudia who is completely reviled.

This character had so much potential to be complicated and intriguing, and they just ruined it. I'm not sure the viewers could have ever liked her, but we could have loved to dislike her and been fascinated by her had they just not sold out the concept.

SJB has played the villain before and quite well. The first incarnation of Carly was no one to admire, that's for sure, and she did it brilliantly. I think the difference is that Claudia is so foul-mouthed and violent.
