Tone Set for James Franco Story

Today, half way through the episode, we got the first glimpse into the coming storyline for JF. Dante sees the graffiti and the piano for "Mad World" started playing, which is one of my favorite songs. It was the perfect tone for beginning the story with JF. I've read that he wanted something "crazy" and wanted to play an extremely wierdo character. This song fits that tone and feeling PERFECTLY. Especially if the people that heard it today remember it from Donnie Darko. But, the last minute convinced me that I really am going to go spoiler free with JF's story. I said it before, but I really mean it this time. I didn't think there was going to be anything about that for a while, but today I was VERY pleasantly surprised, and thoroughly creeped out. The music mixed with the camera exploring that creepy loft with crazy mannequins and wacky things laying around, left me very impressed and extremely interested. To be honest, it reminded me of The Silence of Lambs just a little bit. I can't get over how perfect the music was. But the obvious topper was the wall with pictures of crime scenes and dead people. That really was just the icing on the cake. Extremely eery and freaky. All of this made me realize that I don't want to read things about his story because I really want to be able to be surprised throughout this, like I was today. And, I know that if I peek into the Jasam spoilers, I'm going to read about JF's story. So that is just a plus. I'll be surprised with JF and Jasam.

I'd really like to hear what everyone else thought of the way this story is being set up. If you like it, dislike it, think its stupid, anything! Did the end of today make you interested or intrigued in the coming story for James Franco?

It totally picqued my interest....I was wondering who all those dead people were too. Can't wait to find out. The whole CO77X has me pretty intrigued too.

These aren't spoilers, just speculation, but I'm wondering if these are like the people Jason has killed or something. And he is obsessed maybe with him. I don't even care, because I have a feeling it is going to be good. At least it has started good. I'm glad for that.

It's a good point. There is no way to definitively know that yet. I'm just assuming since we know he is a new character that is going to be entering the canvas that this is the case. This is an apartment we have never seen before, and it has a lot of weird and creepy things in it, that give off a strange vibe. We know that his character is going to be weird and strange, so I'm just connecting the dots. Plus, the graffiti with that code "CO77x" is laced throughout the apartment. That is a mystery as well. The biggest mysteries we know about that are coming into play soon are:

Valentin
James Franco
CO77x

I'm assuming there is a connection between CO77x and James Franco because they are both new, and not something we have ever seen before. I don't see this as an apartment of Valentin's or anything because Dante obviously recognized the graffiti in the alley, and I believe he is familiar with it as something from his neighborhood. Those are the facts I'm going off of. I can't be sure until more happens, but I feel that it could be a safe assumption to make for now based on what we have seen and what we know.

ME TOO!!
I also love the music. I believe I recall hearing this song on a commercail for a primetime show, but I forgot the name of the show.
I have a feeling Dante is intertwined with the story somehow.
Well, that's my two cents.

Here is to hoping this story brings JASAM and DANLU closer to each other.

I think that loft could have been Mr. Politi’s office when he was alive. He was on the police force; a sergeant . Now Dante could have visited it then or later when he was older and saw murder victims on the bulletin board. Plus he noticed the CO77X symbol on the window. I think Mr. Politi was marked for death by the criminal organization that uses the symbol. Now, it appeared outside of Ian’s hotel room and in Jason & Sonny’s territory. They should take heed because nobody should be marking in their territory. I think it is possible that JP could have been close with Ian and has been in jail or out of the country. He has returned and could be seeking revenge against Jason for killing Ian or anyone else that Jason murdered..

Well, spoilers said that it was tied to Jason, and that Dante was familiar with it(which after today we know is true). Wonder if this means Dante and Jason will have to work together in some capacity?
