SOD: Jonathan Jackson...

"It was pretty out of the blue for me, as well. ABC contacted my team and said Greg was moving on..." They asked Jonathan if he was interested in coming back. Jackson notes he's lived in LA for most of his life so it's not a big move for him. He hasn't really watched much GH in the past 10 years, he's too focused on what he's working on at the time. "I am still learning the history, but it does feel like a new state." He was surprised to hear Lucky is a cop. Liz/Lucky: "I def. believe in their love story after being a part of the early chapters. It was really special. I feel a sense of gratitude in being bale to step back into that a new way and hopefully reawaken some of those elements - and find new ones..." So far everything has been seamless, he worked with Geary, Herbst and Tyler on his first day back like the old days.

SOD: Brown to B&B...

She'll be playing Sandy Sommers. Newly created role. Brad immediately reached out to her after hearing she was leaving GH. Brown calls him an amazing man. He asked if she's interested and gave her a rundown of the character. It all happened so quickly that she taped B&B/GH at the same time for a while (started on B&B 2 weeks before she competed GH). At time of interview she'd just taped a few days I think.

Sandy is very diff. from Claudia. She's not in the mafie, she's not rich. She has issues. Her first scenes are Sandy alone. Her exit from GH: "compelling...very exciting. A lot of 'Holy-cow!' moments."

Brown premieres on Nov. 5.

SOD: Greg Vuaghan opens up about his exit...

He never thought JJ would come back. "He was somebody who made a name for himself."

"Having said that, with JJ, the character was adored and loved because of the work that he did. If anybody deserves to be there, it's him. JJ is a class act and he's a phenomenal actor. I know how bad the economy is, and GH sees that they can bring a ratings boost to help the show."

He wishes that things had gone down different noting being called to JFP office.

He notes that he really only got hardcore story once, the drug story. "I knew I was walking into a great show with a huge opportunity as an actor, and I was wishing it would be more than I ever imagined. Did it live up the expectation? No, b/c of lack of story. Did I live up to that expectation? My goals were to challenge myself and deliver to the best of my ability. No matter how it turned out, for all parties included, the truth is what i brought to the character."

Vaughan was disappointed to learn he had already taped his last scenes. He was excited at the prospect of playing the Nik/Liz fallout.

Good memories?
"It meant a lot to me that my true GH fans gave me Best Supporting Actor at the fan club gathering in 2007...That, in and of itself, kind of replaced not being pre-nominated by my cast and the producers." Calls them the voice that really counts, it made him felt like he was embraced as Lucky.

Something else made him feel as good, Maurice telling him "A golden trophy won't define your work as Lucky, b/c you already made a permanent mark on GH as an actor." He said he cherished that advice. He truly respects MB. He respects the writers and creative process to, but when he signed on he was told "this is a place where you can be free to create," but someone left out "someone else has better material than you, so maybe next year you'll have something."

He knows GH will keep on moving without him, it is what it is. "...the show gave me and my family a life. I have nothing but tremendous respect for all the people I've met..."

He notes all the offers he had to turn down because of being contracted by GH, etc He'd entertain doing another daytime show and will continue to make his dreams a reality.

He comments on about 12 GH actors. I'll post that seperately.

S. Burton...Steve Burton: Talented. Consummate professional and "gracious to everybody he works with, even more b/c he treated the cast and crew with In-N-Out Burger or Coffee Bean during a stronger economy."

T. Geary..Charming, playful. "what I enjoyed was his availability and vulnerability w/all actors who worked opposite of him." He neevr tried to prevent other actors from shining despite who he is. He would just raise the bar.

Rebecca (Liz)...Longest on-again/off-again relationship I've ever had. "we created some memorable Kodak moments I've had as an actor! Than you, RH, for all your patience!"

SOW:GH November sweeps Preview

"We are very excited to have Jonathan Jackson return to the show, and are taking full advantage of the chemistry he shares with Becky Herbst," previews head writer Robert Guza Jr.

- Liz will remain torn between Lucky and Nikolas, two men that offer very different things. liz and Nikolas will feel lots of guilt after they betray Lucky, but neither of them is strong enough to stay away. Luke plays an important role after he finds out what's been going on between Liz and Nikolas.

- Claudia disappears suddenly, which has a ripple effect on the canvas. Johnny channels a bit of his Zacchara side, which has major consequences for his romance with Olivia. Dominic does everything he can to bring down Sonny, but he may never get the opportunity when everyone learns his true identity!

- Carly and Jax have a long road ahead of them in repairing their damaged marriage. Michael shows more signs of following in his daddy's footsteps, which worries both Sonny and Jason. Also, a madman witnesses everything that happens on the fateful night Claudia takes Carly hostage.

- Kristina continues in her abusive relationship with Kiefer, while hiding the truth about his terrible behavior from her family and friends. Sonny and Alexis will play a major role in this story once the truth comes out -- particularly since Alexis hasn't set the best example when it comes to men, and Sonny resorts to violence regularly in his line of work.

- Dominic and Lulu grow much closer after they experience a life-and-death situation together. Lulu learns the truth about Dominic and is town by her feelings for him and her loyalty to Sonny.

- Robin and Patrick remain happy and committed to each other. However, when Patrick's college girlfriend moves to Port Charles, insecurities about their relationship will bubble to the forefront.

- Finally... the biggest thing you can look forward to for November Sweeps? "Two words: James Franco."

SOW: Dante Finds A Way To Nail Sonny

No sooner does Dante slip through Claudia’s fingers this week than he seizes upon a cryptic clue that could hold the key to taking down Sonny: Spinelli.

“Dominic discovers something about Spinelli, and how helpful he might be to the investigation,” hints DZ. “He’s gonna find a way to use Spinelli.

But first Dante has to find a way to avoid being used by the amorous Claudia. “It’s not just ‘sleep with me or I’ll tell Sonny the truth of who you are,’” DZ sets up. “Dominic thinks of a way to make it so she would never do that. It’s because of how much she loves Johnny. [Exposing Dante to Sonny[ would, in essence, completely eliminate their relationship. It would break them up. Johnny freaked at her when she told Olivia to break up with him or she would tell Sonny that same stuff.

Claudia is not the only powerful person trying to get Dom to do their bidding. Jax is practically haunting Dante. “He’s becoming a bit of a pain, because everywhere that Dominic goes, trying to do his job, he sees Jax,” DZ sighs. “And every time, he’s harping on Dominic to get the job done. He’s like another Ronnie – but he’s not a cop.”

And Jax’s shadow isn’t the only thing Dante is seeing all over town; there’s also a bit of graffiti that just might help him satisfy Jax and Ronnie. “There’s a tag on a wall that he sees when he’s outside talking to Lulu, and again when he’s talking to Ronnie,” DZ explains. “He can’t place it but he knows it’s something familiar; he remembers it from his past, his Brooklyn days. It’s weighing on his mind enough that he’s gotta figure out where it came from.”

When Dante enlists Spinelli to do an Internet search for the symbol, “He discovers how connected this kid is, and how much [information] he holds on his little laptop,” DZ notes. “Spinelli is a good person. He’s just a kid who’s been taken under the wing of Jason Morgan. Dom doesn’t have to trick him, but he definitely has to convince him that what he’s doing is for the betterment of the organization, not for Dom personally.”

But Dante might not have time to gain Spinelli’s confidence, because Kate decides to approach him once again, at Jake’s. “She’s definitely not stone-sober; she’s definitely not thinking straight,” DZ groans. “Kate’s on the verge of possibly blowing everything out of the water again. She says some things that make him go ‘What the h3ll are you really talking about?’”

SOW: A Closer Look - Jonathan Jackson

Jonathan Jackson returns as Lucky Spencer — the role he won three Daytime Emmys for while performing from 1993-99 — on Oct. 27. Jackson explains why he's a fortunate son.

WEEKLY. What brought you back to General Hospital?
JACKSON: It was just a lot of intangible things. I've thought about it over the years. There were a couple of other soap operas that approached me over the years, as well. I've been off the show for 10 years, doing films and other shows; it's a totally different schedule in terms of living life. When the possibility opened up... it came absolutely out of the blue, and everything moved fairly quickly. I wasn't looking to come back. I was just living my life. Then ABC approached me and told me what was going on, and said, "The role is opening up again." In some ways, it was extremely far from my mind; I wouldn't have even been thinking about it. But once I did start thinking about it, it was like, "Wow, this could be kind of fun; could be interesting."

WEEKLY: What went into making your decision?
JACKSON: I thought, my kids are at a good age, and it sounded like a fun adventure to come back and feel it out. I've wanted to work with some of the actors again over the years. I talked to my family about it, and I prayed about it, because it would be a transition for my family. I've spent more time up in the Northwest than in Los Angeles, even though I fly back and forth. Once the role was open, and ABC told me that Greg (Vaughan ex-Lucky) was going to be doing other things, at that point, I was seriously thinking, "Okay, wow, should I do this? Should I not? The role is open; is this the right time to come back?" At that point, I talked to Tony [Geary. Luke] and got his heart on it as a friend. He and I are good friends.

WEEKLY: So ABC approached you, saying the role had opened up?
JACKSON: They said that [Vaughan] wanted to do other things, the role is opening up, and, "Do you want to come back as Lucky?" That was the question, the dynamic.

WEEKLY: Have you kept up with Lucky over the years?
JACKSON: No, I haven't, to be honest. Which I think is a good thing, because coming back, I don't have a whole lot of that other stuff in my psyche. I'm coming back pretty fresh from where things were. It creates a fluidness between where I was 10 years ago and where I am now as an actor.

WEEKLY: So are you playing him differently?
JACKSON: You're coming into a moving stream with the character and the storyline. But at the same time, I think the character itself, you can inhabit it with your own heart and soul. You can't really perform the history that he's been through; you can acknowledge it and work with it in scenes, but you can't really act the history. So for me, it's [about] educating myself as to what's happened, but at the same time, it feels like we're starting from a clean slate. I'm continuing something, and yet were also starting over.

WEEKLY: One of the things you're resuming is the Lucky/Elizabeth relationship.
JACKSON: It's an interesting dynamic, having them get engaged again. The characters are trying to start over; they're trying to work through the history and get back together, so it's reality meets fiction, in a sense. We're reestablishing something as actors, and the characters are also trying to re-establish something.

WEEKLY: Has it been easy getting back in the groove with your co-stars?
JACKSON: Yeah, it's been fairly seamless. Becky (Herbst, Elizabeth) is a really great actress, and we built that relationship at least from the beginning so it feels really smooth. I kept in touch with Tony, Tyler [Christopher, Nikolas], and a few other people over the years, but there's a lot of people I literally haven't seen in probably 10 years. Working with Tony has been awesome, as well. There's a different dynamic, being older now, but at the same time, there's that connection that never seems to go away.

WEEKLY: Do you feel as if you're competing with your own past?
JACKSON: It's important in life in general not to focus on that kind of stuff. I'm really focused on what we're doing now and excited about that. As an actor, it's fun, because I feel like, in a subconscious way, I'm bringing 10 years of other experiences to the work. And yet there's a familiarity with the past, with all of the other stuff that we built on the show. I tend to not focus on any of that [past] stuff and just focus on giving everything I have to whatever scenes we're doing, and just enjoying what's happening now.

Jackson's Back, Vaughan's Gone!

Out with the old, in with the....older? That's GH's plan of attack when GV vacates the role of Lucky, which he had held for 6 years, and JJ returns to the part he created in 1993.

The In Depth Story: Mark your calendars, because you won't want to miss October 27. That's the day you're getting Lucky.

JJ tells SID that being back on the GH set is "like walking into a stream. I've been away for 10 years, but the character's been living," he reflects. "But, to be honest, it felt like I hadn't even left, in some ways. Working with TG, BH, and TC, it just felt like I was only away a couple of months.

Other soaps approached JJ during his time away from PC. "It just didn't feel like the right time. I don't exactly know why," he says. "Daytime is a very, very demanding schedule. It has to feel like the right time."

That time coincided with GH's decision to change Lucky's. The buzz of GV's imminent departure began to gain in volume and strength in early July, forcing him to take to his Twitter page and set the record straight as to what he believed was going on. "Rumor, rumors, rumors," he tweeted to his followers. "What should a GH fan believe? Better yet, what should a GV fan believe?" He went on to say, "I have not been put on recurring status! But it feels like it."

Two months later, GV's messages were markedly different. "As of today, with sad regrets, I will no longer be a part of what has been a big part of me and my family's life," he said via Twitter. GH and TBTB have chosen to take a new direction. I thank all of you for the many memories we've shared and new ones to come."

GV's account of his GH exit differed greatly in tone from the statement that was issued by ABC. "Greg has decided to vacate the role to explore new opportunities. We thank him for his years engaging our audience and dedication to the show and network. The cast and crew wish him well in all his future endeavors."

Word of his departure spread quickly, and his coworkers stood by him, offering heartfelt support. "Everyone give [him] your blessings, please. He gave Lucky justice while he was there," his TV bro, TC, said on Twitter. Added BB, "Im deeply saddened by this news. Not gonna be the same without you next door. Your star will shine wherever it lands." GV is positive about what the future will bring. "I'm doing great," he assures his fans. [I] cannot be down and out when I have all of you in my corner."

INS AND OUTS: Where's Laura?
After a year away, GF is ready to bring Laura back to PC once again. Is the timing finally right?

GH Has been sitting on a time bomb ever since the shocking revelation that Ethan is Luke and Holly's son. How would Laura, the love of Luke's life, react to knowing he cheated? The fans want to find out and so does Laura's emmy-winning portrayer, GF.

"I would love to do it. I would love, love, love to come back!" she says enthusiastically. "i don't know why ABC is dragging their heels about it, but for whatever reasons, they don't seem to be ready for me."

However, the news that JJ, who grew up playing L&L's son, is returning might pave the way to putting the Spencer family back at the forefront. GF, for one, couldn't be more thrilled about JJ's decision to come "home." "It is so exciting -- I think it's fantastic for him! It's something that he did in his youth, which is still there, waiting for him, that he can take advantage of in his adult years," she maintains. "It's not unlike what I did: He took 10 years off [and] so did I. I'm thrilled for him."

Laura's return from France would definitely complete the Spencer family portrait and would no doubt also provide more for Luke's current wife, Tracy, to contend with. It's a scenario that the fans have been anticipating for a whole year. Have the stars finally aligned? "I hope so," GF offers with a nod to the future. "That would be a nice thing for me."

After refusing to give in to someone's demands on Monday 10/19, Dominic butts heads with Jax on Tuesday, 10/20. Dom turns to Spin for help on Wed, 10/21, as Jax worries that his wife might never be able to forgive him. Jax asks Micheal what he really remembers on Thurs, 10/22, and Lulu finds out exactly what Dom has been keeping under wraps on Tue, 10/27. Dom is relieved to learn he still has at least one or two secrets that haven't been exposed on Wed, 10/28, and Carly finds herself in deep trouble on Friday, 10/30.

It's Raining Men.

RH weighs Liz's romantic options!

Fickle. Wishy-washy. Okay, even slutty. All of these are words that fans have used to describe GH's nurse, mother, and hottie magnet, Elizabeth Webber. But let's face it......having a dark, moody prince, a built-like-an-Adonis mob enforcer, and a chiseled cop all in love with you isn't such a bad thing, now is it? "Elizabeth is emotionally confused because each of these men fill different needs and play a different role in her life," explains her portrayer, RH. So, who is it going to be: Nik, Jason, or Lucky? Oh, decisions, decisions.

In contrast to the shenanigans pulled by some of the other women in PC, Liz could be up for sainthood. But that doesn't mean the gal's not human. Let's not forget that she was a big ol' brat when she first arrived in PC 12 years ago. "The people that have been with the character since time began haven't forgotten." RH smiles. "Whenever I do fan events, somebody always brings it up. THey like to see the spicy side of Liz, because they know it's in there. People like to watch bad girls. They like to see the naughty things you don't get to do in life. There are those that like to see Liz taking revenge and betraying people. Then there are those that like to see that polished halo."

That's putting it mildly. A lot of loyal fans are up in arms, furious with Elizabeth because of what she's been doing to Lucky. Accepting his marriage proposal while sleeping with his brother? Not so bright. Courtesy of Liz , poor Lucky is getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop yet again. If he's not competing with his archenemy Jason, for her affection, he is competing with his own brother...and he's oblivious to it!! "I'm totally aware that fans are upset," the actress remarks. "But it's my job to come in and play what the writers have given me. I also want them to know that I completely understand what they're feeling and now a lot of them feel betrayed by Liz straying from Lucky. We also have to remember that it's a soap opera, and if I stay happily in love with Lucky for the rest of my days, it's going to be really boring."

"You can only have a great union and a great couple if there's been some sort of hurdle to overcome," she continues. "Right now, whether the pairing of Liz and Nik is the hurdle or a new union, I'm not sure. But I've put myself into it 100%, because that's the only way people are going to accept it."

You've got to give Liz this much -- she's got a pretty tough decision on her hands. Think about it. The father of her baby son, who's a total hunk...her childhood sweetheart, who's a total hunk...or one of her closet friends, who's, yes, a total hunk. Win, win, or win, right? "Fans can't be that surprised and shocked about her and Nik," RH points out. "This is a classic brother-against-brother story. Nik and Liz have been friends for 12 years. I'm honestly surprised this hasn't happened sooner! They've been emotionally intimate and there for each other. They're each other's confidantes. We have never wavered in our friendship. When people are going through emotional times, it happens."

Friends, yes. But Liz & Nik's sex scene that keeps playing over and over in their heads (and therefore on our TV screens) is steamly with a capital "S." "I hear some people are pretty upset that there has never been a love scene between Liz and Jason or Liz and Lucky like that," she acknowledges. "No, there hasn't been. But it was suppposed to be a different type of love scene. It was an aggressive, almost primal, not even thinking about it type of love scene with Nik. It was lustful. That's how it had to be. It couldn't be a soft "I think I love you" love scene, because that's not what it was about! It wasn't about making love. It was about sex at that moment, about physically being there for each other.

"My love scenes with Jason, we were in love," she continues. "That was different. Liz and Lucky have that history, and the fans have been very passionate about them. Jason and Liz had that chemistry, and fans fell in love with them, too. They weren't together forever, and people continued to write and voice their opinions. Then, lo and behold, seven or eight years later, they were a couple again. There's always that revolving door, and people aren't sure what's going to happen next. That's the whole idea."

It's the week fans have been waiting for -- and Claudia has been dreading -- as GH's Sam and Jason finally get the goods on the very bad things Sonny's wife has done. With her dirty deeds finally coming to light, how much longer can Claudia keep Sonny in the dark?

Jason Closes In!
"Jason has a little bit of a vendetta," admits his portrayer SBu, of the events that set Claudia's downfall in motion. "he wants her to pay, and he's focused on proving her guilt, first and foremost." With that in mind, he and Sam head for a house in which they believe the late Ian Devlin --- better know to viewers as the guy who fired the bullet that nearly killed Mikey --- may have kept some belongings and, with any luck, evidence linking his crime to Claudia. "We know that she probably did it," says SBu. "But we don't have the proof, so to speak, that Sonny needs at this point."

Inside the house, Sam finds a duffel bag that contains bearer bonds and a whole lot of cash, but not the evidence they're actually looking for. Just then, the current occupant of the house makes an unexpected appearance, resulting in Jason and Sam finding themselves in the position of having to help a very distressed damsel. "The woman who lives in the house is pregnant and passed out or fell," explains Sbu of what happens next. Helping the mom-to-be brings up painful memories for Sam, who can't help remembering the haunting pain of having lost her unborn child several years back. Jason is there to comfort Sam and soon they are back on the hunt for something they can use to bring about Claudia's downfall.

After being summoned by Anthony for a disturbing visit, Olivia winds up in Johnny's arms. She later decides it is long past time for Sonny to know the truth about both the son they share and the fact that his wife is blackmailing her with the info. But Sonny interrupts her would-be confession to insist that she stop badmouthing his wife, and Michael arrives in time to defend his stepmom, convincing Olivia that she has done the right thing in keeping Sonny in the dark regarding Dom. Returning to Johnny's side, Olivia tells him that they should reunite--but keep it secret from everyone.

Meanwhile, Claudia is thrilled when Sonny says that he needs her help! Together, they head for Rio to deal with problems that are rocking the organization. Once there, Mr. and Mrs Corinthos create quite the stir, and Claudia absolutely loves that she and Sonny are being seen by everyone as a power couple. After she risks her life to save Sonny, he actually decides that once they return to PC, he's going to throw a party in honor of his wife!!

Following the trail left by Devlin leads Jason and Sam to a series of disks. "We figure out that Ian was recording everything in town," previews Burton in character. "We find disks of all his recordings." But Jason is taken aback when Alexis comes to him and asks that he keep her daughter out of the investigation. "Alexis says, "if you find proof that Claudia did it, and you kill her and get caught, Sam will be going down with you."" But, in the end, Jason knows what happens next must be Sam's choice. And it looks like what is coming is the moment fans have been waiting for when Jason and Sam listen to a disk on which Claudia is heard spelling out her plan to have Sonny killed at the warehouse.

Now, Jason stands at a crossroads: He fears that once he tells Sonny the truth, his boss may order him to take no action.....and he's not sure that he can do that! But Sam points out that if her man takes matters into his own hands and kills Claudia, Michael might feel guilty for his stepmom's death. However, after putting togehter a few more facts about other events that have unfolded in recent months, Sam and Jason come to the conclusion that Claudia is pure evil and must be stopped. What will happen when the most anticipated moment in recent GH history finally comes to pass as Sonny learns the whole truth about the woman he married...and the horrific things she did to his family?

Who will Team up with Helena?

This week on GH, will Helena expose Nik and Liz's secret love affair? The queen of mean will stop at nothing to contorl those who she sees as a threat, and, right now, the two people at the tope of that list are Lucky and Nikolas. But she knows she needs help in brining them to their knees. So she starts by testing Ethan's loyalty to his half brother by telling him what's going on between Nikolas and Elizabeth. Whath she doesn't count on is that Ehtan's no sucker. He not only stands up for his sibs, but he doesn't even engage her in conversation.

Having struck out with Ethan, Helena turns her attention to her own grandson. she mocks Nik about his relationship with Liz in front of a rocked Rebecca, who does her best to dismiss it.

"Nikolas is her whole life," says CT (Helena). "in her own strange and twisted way, that's her focus. Even though she tries to help him, oftentimes, she's destructive in her attempts." Yeah, no kidding!.

So, if not Ethan, then who could possibly manipulate Nikolas? Could Rebecca be exactly what the wicked witch needs? If Helena becomes privy to Nikolas' scheme to break Rebecca's heart, she might just be up for revenge. But who else knows of Nikolas's plot? If Helena won over Luke, maybe she can win over his Aussie offspring, too!

SID GH JAMES FRANCO'S INTERVIEW

How'd They Get Franco?

When GH announced that major Hollywood player James Franco would be joining the show, jaws dropped and lips flapped. But how did the casting coup really come about? EP JFP fills us in on the deal of the century.

The In Depth Story: Although the news caught everyone by surprise, JFP reveals that she and a few other key people behind the scenes in PC had been working toward the announcement for some time. "We have known about the possibility [of Franco coming on] for quite a while, and, in a rare turn of events, we have been able to keep it quiet," she explained to SID shortly after the news broke. That meant that the show actually had time to create a character specifically for the actor as opposed to whipping one up overnight. "The story and character have been beautifully crafted," she enthuses, giving credit to the show's HW Guza. "[Franco] will play a very unique character!" (At press time, the character's name had not been finalized.)

So, just how did Franco's casting really come about? "His manager reached out to GH, saying that James wanted to do daytime drama," says JFP. "He'd heard it was hard, and he'd never done a soap before. James is an actor in every sense of the word...he just wants to have the opportunity to stretch himself!"

And although initial reaction indicated that the Spiderman star was coming to soaps as a way of researching a future part, JFP says that's not the case. "He is not preparing for a role on a movie," she states. "He is challenging himself to do something he's never done before." In the end, JFP thinks that the situation will be a win/win: "We're simply thrilled and equally inspired by this opportunity to give JF a memorable story and in turn an exciting time for our audience."

GH likely will get a whole lot of publicity thanks to the actor's appearance, not to mention a possible healthy number of viewers tuning in out of curiosity. "Needless to say," concludes JFP with a smile, "we hope that James' fans who tune in to GH to see him will stay once they visit PC!"

Well to me BJ is Baby Joceyln, she will need a heart transplant and Jasam are supposed to rescue a pregnant woman who is staying at the house Ian rented who falls down and will probably bring her to the hospital. I think it is possible that her baby will die and then give its heart to Carlys baby. Then Patricks old girlfriend, who is a surgeon will come to town to do the operation.

I think Sam is supposed to take a bullet for Carly, she could be the hero.

Now I really like Valentin meets Robin because I hope its at the hospital and there he meets Liz. I would really like him to be taken with her.

That means she will be front burner in the Cassidine vs. Spencers storyline.

Gossip for the week of 19-Oct-2009

Color Marlena De Lacroix not impressed with the stunt casting and the rampant comings and goings of some of daytime’s finest (like Sarah Joy Brown/Claudia). To her, it’s like watching the Titanic go down: “What the industry is mostly doing (except for Franco) is rearranging chairs on the deck of the Titanic, hoping for survival. Every show seems to be hiring, looking for quick ratings hikes, and some shows are actually throwing Hail Mary passes in hope of a miracle. Others are betting the entire history and character on their show on a few really shocking stories. A few are good. But more are awful and some are entirely self-defeating.”

Two more cast members are slated to receive pink slips (no contract, no recurring): They may be Megan Ward (Kate) and Jason Cook (Matt).

Alexis and her own family member, from the Cassadines, produced Sam? Maybe it was incestuous rape.

TPTB got wind of some of the cast members Twittering and Facebooking and wants to provide 101 lessons to all of them, to prevent the inadvertent spilling of spoilers that Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) may have done with his and Kirsten Storms (Maxie) GH non-wedding, and that Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) might’ve done last week about Claudia being killed off.

The Suds Report’s Nelson Branco made a mountain out of a molehill while fueling the dying embers of a non-controversy by bringing up Greg Vaughan (Lucky III) being fired but TPTB lying to Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) about it, making it appear that Vaughan vacated the role: “The Emmy winner told Soap Opera Weekly that ABC called Jackson because, ‘the role of Lucky was open and Greg wanted to do other things.’ Sources close to Vaughan tells Suds Report Jackson was lied to. ‘Greg was fired — period,’ says a pal. ‘This is just another example of how ABC lies to its cast and the press.’” Technically, ABC Daytime didn’t lie; they said the role opened up, they just didn’t specific how.
