FYI
Kathryn (Admin)
moderator
Hello everyone,
Real quick I just wanted to address some issues that we have been having.
First things first, when a thread is closed for review, that isn’t permission to open up another thread that is exactly the same. It means that that thread and/or its topic is causing problems that need resolving. Opening up a new thread is just going to increase the chances of more trouble.
Secondly, no bash threads are only to be opened by admin. Any thread that isn’t admin approved will be closed. On that note, off topic threads should not be created anywhere other than the lounge. I will provide the link for your reference. Any future off topic threads will need to be opened there or they will be removed.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Otherwise, Happy posting =)
Kathryn

Kathryn,
With utmost respect for all board guidelines I have a request regarding off topic threads...
Instead of removing the thread completely could it please be moved to the Lounge with a reminder post left in its place directing the posters who were in discussion to the Lounge?
Knowing the camaraderie of posters on this board it is inevitable that we might occasionally forget that our threads must be strongly focused on GH so as not to warrant being in the Lounge. Typically, for the statistically rare times that it happens, the opening of an off topic thread is innocuous--the majority of OPs would not intentionally be violating the Guidelines, and would've focused their queries more to GH had they thought they would be in violation. With that in mind, to remove the thread completely seems like punishment when a firm reminder would better fit the offense.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. If it would've been more appropriate for me to hit "Contact Us" my apologies--it just seemed appropriate to address this here since it is here that we are being made aware of how future activities will be addressed.

No worries, I wanted any concerns addressed in here so that I'd see them right away
We actually used to do just what you said but unfortunately now when we do that, the thread appears in the lounge but you are unable to open it. There's some kind of glitch that prevents us from doing it. So that's why they are being removed entirely.
So this is just a friendlier reminder that if you see your off-topic thread gone, please open it in the lounge.
If you have anymore questions, let me know.

Kathryn Thank you for getting back to me so quickly, and for the assurance that I put my inquiry in the correct place.
Darn glitches. Good to know that y'all would still be willing to move them if it were physically possible to do so!
Have a great day!

Since you are here...is there anything that can or is being done about the posters that hit the "Bad Post" button when no guidelines are violated? I mean certainly sometimes it's hit by mistake when someone thinks a guideline IS being broken but lately, we have had the button misused simply because someone doesn't like what another poster has said.
Just wondering.
Oh and thank you for your hard work. I know you must get frustrated just as we do when a few want to spoil it for the masses.

Kathryn, Thanks for the reminders. Question; I have created a couple of threads for "NIZ" or "Nik and Liz Fans (Spoilers welcome)", but they have disappeared. I thought maybe I was just over looking them but I went back 20+ pages and still could not find them. Would they have been deleted for some reason? I have since participated in other similar threads so it's fine, I just wanted to make sure I hadn't done something to get these threads deleted. Thanks!
