Rita is taken hostage, and Louis closes Zavatti's doors forever!
At the Beverly Grande, Suzy tells Cara and Marco that Louis told her the money is not in the house. Cara tells them she thinks the security is for the money, Suzy tells them she thinks it is not for the money, but for Rita. Getting an idea, Cara tells Suzy her job description has changed, and she now is responsible for helping them kidnap Suzy.
Louis, Christoph, Peter, and Jessica sign an agreement for their cook-off. In the agreement they agree that the loser will close their doors permanently no more than 24 hours after the contest ends.
Cully confronts Louis about his plans to put Zavatti up for grabs in the contest. Cully is angry with Louis for not consulting him first before making the decision to wager their restaurant, and the people who work for Zavatti's jobs.
Louis tells the staff of Zavatti about the bet. Louis tells them all that he has full confidence in Christoph, and thinks they will win.
Louis gets ready to go to the taping of “Food for Love”, While he is waiting on Suzy, she calls Marco and tells him that they are about to leave the house. While she makes the call Cully tells Louis he wants his half on the money. Louis tells Suzy to come out of from behind the wall where she is listening in on their conversation, and tells Cully they will talk about this in the morning.
After Louis leaves, Rita pulls a Bella menu out from under her mattress and begins to look at it.
Sadie brings Rita dinner. Once she leaves, Rita sneaks out of her window, and gets into a car waiting outside. Peter brings Rita back to his house, and tells her about coming to live with him, and Alex. Peter takes her to Bella and tells her about working there.
Outside of Bella, George calls Marco and tells him that Rita is at Bella with Peter.
At the taping for “Food For Love” Christoph and Alex has a small verbal fight backstage. Once on stage the dish they must cook is revealed as Bouillabase. Christoph eats up a pan, and then switches it with Alex's cold pan, causing him to burn his hand. For the judging, Christoph serves his dish, and then Alex. The critic tells Christoph he is “an artist”. After tasting Alex's dish the critic selects Alex as the winner. Andrea rushes to his side, kissing him. An angry Louis and Suzy get up and leave, as they do Alex yells “don't leave, you wanted this and now you get what you deserve”.
After the competition, Louis paces the dining room of Zavatti. He chains the doors, and puts up a “Closed” sign, walking away from the building.
At Bella, Peter kisses Rita. As he pulls away Asher comes in and knocks him out, taking Rita hostage.
