Sami wants to keep Sydney at her place while EJ distances himself from Stefano but EJ thinks it makes sense that Sydney stays with somebody she’s used to. They realize the baby’s sleeping and don’t want to wake her so take their discussion into the foyer while Nicole sneaks in and goes to Sydney.

In the foyer, Sami and EJ argue and EJ asks Sami to simmer down. Sami hears a sound and stops her rant long enough to ponder it. EJ opens the front door to Stefano, who says they can’t leave things the way they did. It’s too torturous. Sami calls him a bastard. EJ agrees with Sami that Stefano has done wrong but Stefano thinks EJ turns into a quivering statue when Samantha’s around. Quarreling ensues.

As they argue, Nicole holds Sydney in the great room and wonders how she can leave her with all this conflict. She wants to leave with Syd, but can’t do it.
Meanwhile, Sami can’t wait to get Roman involved in this. Stefano’s not concerned. EJ tells them to stop and listens, then rushes into the great room, claiming it’s too quiet. Sami and Stefano follow and they find Sydney gone.

Bo catches Hope going through Carly’s things in his living room. She’s not the least bit embarrassed that he caught her. Hope can’t get past the secret that Carly’s keeping. If it weren’t for the secret, Carly wouldn’t be there. She has made things more difficult Bo admits and she regrets that. Hope calls Carly a liar but Bo says she’s only speculating. Hope points out that Carly already admitted to murdering Lawrence. Bo retorts that the charges were dropped. Hope’s surprised this doesn’t bother him but he knows Carly. Hope doesn’t like how Carly continues to keep him in danger.

At Maggie’s place, Maggie wonders why Carly wouldn’t rather live someplace else. Carly needs to get out of Bo’s place as soon as possible and doesn’t want to be alone. She promises to explain to Maggie why she’s back in Salem. Maggie’s got to run this by Mickey. Mia interrupts and Maggie realizes they’ve met. When Mia learns Carly may move in, she says it’s fine with her. It’s up to Maggie. Carly leaves and Maggie can see Mia’s still in such pain. Each time she thinks about Grace, she feels she should have known she was her baby. Maggie says Mia can’t blame herself. Mia says Will and Chad feel bad for the way they treated her but she doesn’t care. She’d have them hate her forever if Grace could still be alive. They hug and Maggie says it’s helpful to keep busy when going through bad times. She suggests they bake together. Mia’s not in the spirit of Thanksgiving at the moment. Maggie tells Mia about her drinking days when she felt low and lost and that she learned the importance of being thankful at her meetings. Mia has a choice. Go up to her room and be sad or help her bake the pies for the homeless. Mia decides to bake and later admits she feels like she has family, now. Family is everything. Maybe some Thanksgiving, she’ll be as happy as Sami is right now.

Kate arrives at Java and thought her eyes were playing dreadful tricks on her. Vivian says there’s no place like home and no three people like Katie, Viv and Vic, together again, just like old times. Vivian congratulates Kate for taking over her old role as Mrs. Stefano DiMera. Kate says it’s going very well but she has to leave. Kate’s stunned to learn that Vivian has returned to Salem for good! Kate warns her to stay away from her and from Philip. Victor, who has been quiet this whole time, breaks out in laughter as Kate leaves. He forgot how stimulating it was being around a woman like Vivian. "The party doesn’t have to end now," Vivian points out.

Ari walks into an ambush. Rafe and Gabi show her the drugs Gabi found in her room. They thought she was done with coke. Ari admits she’s not and ushers Gabi out of the room to talk with Rafe, who blasts her for putting them through yet another nightmare. Ari says it’s his turn to keep a secret for her and tells him about her undercover work. Rafe gets a call from Sami, crying. She thinks Nicole took Sydney.

Hope arrives at the mansion and greets Victor and Vivian, their new house guest. Hope excuses herself when Vivian offers to tell her why she’s back in Salem, but Vivian’s persistence wins out and Vivian tells Hope that she’s in mourning for Lawrence. Hope wonders if her being in Salem has to do with Carly. Vivian points out that Carly was exonerated, leaving Hope to find that Vivian’s too casual about this. "Drop the act," says Hope, and Vivian thinks she should do the same. The person really unhappy to see Carly free is Hope!

Carly arrives at Bo’s place and tells him she asked Maggie if she could move in. Bo says, "You’re planning to move into the same house as your daughter?" Carly smiles.

Nicole takes Sydney into the woods saying this is their last chance.

Rafe, EJ and Sami search for Nicole and Sydney but don’t see her. Rafe blames EJ in his concern but realizes it’s not his fault.

Nicole goes to the pier with Sydney but says she has no money. She’s not sure what to do. Nicole spots Gabi nearby, and asks her for help. She introduces herself as Laura, an abused mother who is trying to get to her sister’s place in Chicago. Her husband’s a cop so she can’t call the police. She just needs money for a bus ticket and offers her tennis bracelet. Gabi takes pity for her and gives her all the money she has. Gabi refuses the bracelet but Nicole wants her to have it. She won’t see her again to thank her. Nicole hears somebody coming and is frightened she’ll get caught. She hides behind the stairs and Arianna arrives. She notices the bracelet on Gabi’s arm and asks where it came from.

EJ searches the house and Kate arrives through the patio window, they ask if she has seen anyone outside. Kate claims to have seen a figure in the mist. After Sami and EJ have left, Stefano calls his henchmen to look for Sydney. He tells Kate he has a plan.

Carly cries, "I had to do it. He was going to kill me." Bo holds her.

Gabby tells Arianna, "All you do is lie."

Sami runs into Brady, who admits he posted Nicole's bail. "How dare you?" Sami asks before she slaps him and rejects his help.
