Justin tells Bo he's being a complete jerk, Vivian visits Carly, and Nicole is taken away to prison!
Vivian sarcastically asks Carly why she's not happy to see her, as they need to grieve Lawrence's death together. Carly tells Vivian to leave or Bo will throw her out. Vivian taunts that they have much to say about Lawrence's death, and welcomes herself in. She sneers at the décor and wonders where Hope is. Carly explains that Hope is not there. Vivian needs to apologize for trying to have her killed, saying, "I could shoot myself!" and Carly says, "Let me!" Vivian wants to find a way to bury the hatchet. Carly asks if Vivian has been in touch with Victor, as he’d want to bury the hatchet too, in her forehead! Vivian warns that the neighbors will see Carly as a home wrecker, but Carly explains Hope moved out before Carly had to move in, since someone was trying to kill her.
At the Kiriakis mansion, Hope tells Justin that she doesn’t blame Carly for her marriage problems. Justin consoles Hope as Bo walks in and sneers that Hope will always have her boy Justin there. Hope tells Bo he’s overreacting, but Bo hates that his cousin is always offering sympathy to his wife, behind his back. Before excusing himself, Justin tells Bo, "You’re acting like a complete jerk!" Hope says he’s right and that Ciara will hear them arguing. Bo wants to tell her about Carly’s exoneration but Hope already heard it from Justin. Bo thinks it’s interesting that Justin gave Hope this news in a way that Hope ended up crying. Hope says they both know when it comes to the Alamains, this could be a set up and Carly needs him more now. Hope asks Bo about the big secret he and Carly share, but Bo says it’s not his secret to tell and as soon as Carly is ready, Hope will know. Bo reminds her that Carly isn’t the problem here, since Hope took Ciara away. Frustrated, he tells Hope that she knows him and is acting like she wants him to change. He storms out as Justin walks in and apologizes. Hope loves how strong she is but she feels sick when Bo leaves. Hope asks Justin about Carly’s secret. She thinks Carly really killed Lawrence and wonders why the other person took the fall for it.
Carly and Vivian bicker until Carly tells Vivian it’s time to leave, as Bo walks in. Before leaving, Vivian says they have to do lunch and catch up. Carly tells Bo that Vivian is here for revenge. Bo suggests Carly leave Salem now that Vivian is here, but Carly says she’s never leaving!
At the Brady Pub, Mia cries to Chloe that Sydney is hers and no one would switch babies. She realizes Grace is really her baby and cries. Maggie consoles Mia and Chloe tells them how Nicole switched the babies. Mia cries that she sensed Grace was hers. Maggie leaves to call Roman and get to the truth. Mia never understood why Nicole made sure she held Grace before she died until now. It all makes sense, except Mia doesn’t know why Nicole would switch the babies. Chloe explains that Sydney is Sami and EJ’s daughter. Maggie comes back and confirms it’s all true. Mia breaks down and realizes Nicole made her lie about everything too. Maggie says Nicole will pay for her lies. Mia thanks Maggie and says there’s something she has to do.
At the pier, Nicole is handcuffed as Sami and Rafe walk by. EJ tells the police to keep Nicole away from Sydney. Rafe excuses himself to give EJ and Sami a chance to talk. EJ says Sydney is his daughter and Sami says she’s both of theirs. EJ blames himself, saying he should have known, but Sami says there’s no way he could have known about the lies. EJ promises that Nicole will pay for this but Sami says Nicole is already paying. EJ holds Sydney as Nicole watches. EJ can’t believe Nicole let him kick his daughter out and says both Sami and Nicole wanted to keep his children away from him. Sami says it’s not the time to rehash that as she approaches Nicole. She tells EJ that Sydney loves Nicole and they need to respect that. EJ refuses but Sami tells him to stop thinking like a DiMera. EJ hands Sydney over and Sami asks the guards to take Nicole’s cuffs off. Nicole holds Sydney and says goodbye. She didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Sami takes Sydney back, as the guards take Nicole away. Sami wants to take Sydney home but EJ says her home is with him. They start arguing and Rafe tells them to do the right thing for Sydney.
Nicole is placed behind bars and cries for Sydney. After the guard reads her the offenses she’s charged with, Nicole calls Chloe and begs her to bail her out. Chloe refuses and asks how she could do it. Nicole begs Chloe for help as her only friend, but Chloe says Nicole is where she belongs and hangs up on her. Nicole gets a visitor: Mia!
Sami, Rafe, and EJ return to the DiMera mansion and Sami asks to settle this. EJ says he has a daughter and will forever be grateful to Rafe for it. Rafe says they can call it even since he saved his life. Sami reminds EJ that Rafe will be a part of his children’s lives, and EJ agrees he’s in no position to judge. Sami wants to use this as a new beginning, and they need to work it out together. EJ is glad that his children have her genes, and wants the same things she wants, even though it won’t be easy. Sydney cries and EJ says she wants her mother. Sami comforts Sydney and EJ thinks Sydney should stay with Sami tonight, though it’s not a precedent. Sami thanks him, as the doorbell rings. EJ answers the door to an officer who tells EJ they need to chat. The officer says they need to talk about the attempted murder on Rafe. EJ angrily accuses Sami and Rafe of distracting him until the police got there. He demands Sydney stay with him but Sami insists that it’s not true. She and Rafe take Sydney and leave.
Justin opens the Kiriakis door and is served with legal papers. He opens the envelope and sees they are divorce papers from Adrienne. Hope looks on and Justin says he can’t pretend this doesn’t hurt. Hope says she’s sorry and tells him not to pretend with old friends.
Vivian meets Gus at the Java Café, and thanks him for distracting the guard. She says it’s going to be more difficult than she thought with Carly. Gus asks what if Carly flees, but Vivian says Carly isn’t going to leave town, as she hasn't gotten what she’s come for yet!
