Brady broods, Melanie fantasizes, and Hope ruminates.

At the house, Carly paces, worried Hope will turn her in but Bo reminds her she has 24 hours. She should calm down. She can trust Hope. Carly thinks he’s rather loyal to somebody who just moved out on him. Bo changes the subject and they discuss Rafe and how Carly liked having the mystery man around. When Bo suggests she go to bed, she refuses, considering that’s where Hope found her. Bo thinks she should tell Justin why she murdered Lawrence but she won’t. This leaves Bo frustrated but respectful of her protectiveness. She asks about his family. He tells her Shawn’s a father now and tells her about Zach and that he doesn’t think he and Hope have gotten past his death but he loves Hope and if she knew why Carly killed Lawrence, she’d be the first in line to help her. Later, Carly has fallen asleep and dreams that Lawrence has come for her. In the dream Bo tries to save her from him but winds up being stabbed by Lawrence. Carly wakes up screaming and Bo rushes downstairs to calm her.

At the mansion, Victor can tell something bad happened while she was home. Hope admits it’s true and flashes back to seeing Carly in her bed. Victor thinks Bo threatened her but that’s not the case. "My son’s an idiot," Victor comments, and Hope starts asking questions about Carly Manning. Victor says Carly has never held a candle to her. Hope read Lawrence Alamain was killed and Victor assures her that the widow Alamain won’t worm her way back to Salem! Hope ignores that comment and thinks Carly’s a beautiful woman and knows she was engaged to Bo at one time. She has learned Victor married her and asks why. Victor married her because Carly saved his life, but she has a way of playing the innocent victim. Bo never saw her for who she was.

EJ comes upon Arianna crying at the pier. At first, she thinks he's Brady and holds his hand as he places it on her shoulder, but when she realizes who it is, she isn't happy. He gives her a handkerchief but she refuses it. She needs nothing from him. He reminds her it’s just a handkerchief and thinks like her brother, she’s very quick to pass judgment. Why is he there? He admits he was worried about her, upon finding her crying. Arianna thinks he should worry about his wife. EJ ignores that and tells her he thinks her brother is fixated on him. He’s glad he left town. Good riddance! Ari starts to explode at him and he finds it amusing. She’s full of righteous indignation but has no facts. Ari tells him she is suddenly feeling better about herself and when he asks why she was upset, she says it’s not his business. She runs off and EJ says it’s quite contrary. It is his business.

Brady sits alone at Java, in the corner and broods about Arianna being involved in drugs.
Nearby, Philip asks Melanie why go out with Nathan when she could be with him. He wants her to leave with him because they were meant to be together. He leans in and they kiss, passionately. Nathan wakes her up and says she has that look on her face again - the one she had when she came to him hot and bothered at the hospital. She promises this is going to be the best date of his life.

Sami and Rafe profess their love for each other and make out on the sofa. When Nicole arrives, Rafe hides in the bathroom. Nicole can’t find him there! Sami stalls Nicole for time and Nicole rants about Sydney teething then snaps at Sami when she tries to take Sydney from the carriage. Nicole apologizes and they discuss Nicole moving out soon. Nicole won’t give up hope that EJ will take her back. Sami thinks EJ’s pigheaded pride is in the way and wonders if EJ would sue for sole custody, reminding Nicole that he did it with Johnny. Nicole takes off to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Sydney and Rafe turns up in the living room. Sami gazes at Sydney and admits she’ll miss having her around. It’s funny to Sami how she and Nicole trust each other these days. Rafe suggests she shouldn’t and though Sami understands what he’s getting at, she says that practically speaking, she has nothing that Nicole wants! Later, Rafe tells her things will get better, but doesn’t tell her where he’s staying. Sami seems fine with this and they kiss once more before Rafe leaves. Once out the door, Rafe calls his FBI friend, Tim, and tells him he’s on his way!

At Lucas’ place, Nathan shows Melanie his room. They start making out and Nathan asks if she’s sure. "Yeah," she says with a grin and they get passionate. As they do, Melanie flashes back to having sex with Philip. They’re interrupted by Nathan’s cell phone. He has to leave for a hospital emergency and frustrated, he admits that during times like these, he wishes he had a 9-5 job. He leaves and Melanie fantasizes about having sex with Philip again.

Nicole finds Brady outside the pub and apologizes. She tells him Stefano changed her mind about going away. She admits happily that Chad may not be Sydney’s father and Brady thinks she’s acting self-centered when she doesn’t appear worried about how this turn of events has affected Mia. Nicole can tell Brady’s in a bad place. This isn’t like him to lash out at her. She offers to help him but he’s fine. He has just been to a meeting and is fine. He just had a bad day. He’s happy for her news about Chad though and says she and Sydney belong together. Nicole thinks Brady’s a great guy and they agree they're friends. Nicole thinks Arianna’s lucky to have him, but learns they broke up. He jokes that he’s not the least bit upset about it but she knows him better.
At the mansion, Hope bumps into Justin, who says he heard Ciara crying. Hope thinks she can pick up on her tension. They discuss Carly and Hope shares how Victor thinks Carly’s a predator. "And it takes one to know one." Each tells the other that they’re still in love with their spouses and each realizes there’s something they have to do. Justin heads upstairs and Hope makes a phone call. Later, Justin finds Hope hanging up the phone. "Everything alright?" She has to believe it will be.
Arianna arrives home to Rafe making a call to a friend at the bureau. Before long he’ll be able to tell Sami that Sydney’s is hers. Once EJ finds out, he thinks EJ will act like a real jerk. Arianna wonders if this will push EJ into Sami’s arms.

Sami brings Sydney to the DiMera mansion to pick Johnny up. EJ arrives late and apologizes for not having him ready while Harold goes to get him. Sami makes a big deal about how Sydney’s cutting a tooth, hoping EJ will take the bait and though he's very intrigued by it, he won't hold her. Sami pokes fun at him, but asks why he can’t just be happy with his wife and daughter. It’s not that simple, says EJ.

Back at Bo’s place, Carly rushes to the door to leave and is stopped by FBI agents who arrest her for the murder of Lawrence.
