Ari tells Rafe that Nicole's secret is out, Mia lies for Stefano and Nicole, and Brady and Sami bond.
Rafe pounds on Arianna’s door and she lets Rafe in. She pulls him to her bed and wants to call an ambulance but he stops her. She comments on how beat up he looks and he tells her Meredith did this to him. She hit him from behind at Sami’s place and dragged him to her basement. She threw him in the river. Arianna asks how he survived but he’s not sure. He held on to a log or something and thinks Stefano DiMera was involved in this. He mumbles about a secret and that’s why there can be no police and she can’t tell Sami. He remembers the woman on the boat who saved his life and felt a little better so went up on deck and saw they were in Salem. He got off without saying goodbye because nobody was there! Besides, he was worried they’d go to the police. Arianna makes soup for Rafe and asks why he can’t tell Sami the truth. Ari can see Brady has left a message and she admits they’re back together but keeping it secret. She’ll explain later. Rafe hopes he knows how lucky Brady is to have her. Arianna says he does but hopes he always feels this way. Rafe tells Arianna that Sydney’s not Nicole’s baby but everyone knows that, already, points out Ari. Nicole bought her baby from Mia, she says and EJ threw Nicole out after learning this. Rafe is shocked.
Sami goes to the door and opens it to Mia who falls into her arms, crying. She asks EJ if he has thought about getting custody of Sydney but he refuses and leaves.
At Bo’s place, Carly cries and tells Bo she killed her husband. She’s going to pay for it. Bo thinks that since nobody knows she’s there, she’s safe. They’ll worry about long-term, soon. Now that he knows the whole story, he understands why she killed Lawrence. Carly’s relieved but knows not everyone will see it that way. "They’re coming for me Bo. I took a life. They’re going to want mine in return." Carly had to kill him in order to stop the cruelty and she wonders that because of all the mistakes she made in her life, perhaps she deserved the cruelty. There’s nobody to blame but herself. Bo disagrees and tells her she’s not alone. They’ll get her through this and she’ll start over.
A man brings in a beautiful urn and places it on a table. "Master Lawrence’s ashes, Madame." Woman’s hands touch the urn. Later, she looks through photos of Lawrence and Carly, and Carly by herself. The woman rips Carly from the photo with Lawrence and rips it to pieces, in a rage. She cuts out yet another photo of Carly and rings for Gus, who returns. She tells him to find Carly and then we see her face. Vivian Alamain says she’ll deal with her…personally!
Nicole is grateful to Stefano for keeping her secret but once Chad takes the paternity test, Stefano’s plan will go up in smoke. Stefano says they want Chad out of the picture and he'll take care of it.
At Java, Brady leaves a message for Arianna to call him.
Down at the pier, Chad tells T that Mia wasn’t in rehab, but she had his baby. Will comes upon them and confirms his story. Will asks if Chad’s going to spin this thing. Chad calls Will a liar and Will says Mia’s much better without him in her life. He doesn’t care if Chad text messages the whole school about this.
At Sami’s place, Sami reminds Mia that Chad’s legally Sydney’s father and has rights but she’ll think of something. She goes to the other room and Mia takes a call from Nicole.
EJ goes home to an empty mansion and flashes back to holding Sydney, then toys with his wedding band and makes a call for somebody to come over, right away. Later, Troy arrives and EJ says it was about time they met but he should never tell anyone they met or where he lives, he only works for EJ, nobody else. Troy is fine with that and they start discussing the dealers he has working for him on the north side. EJ is shocked when he sees Arianna’s name. Troy calls her the best. EJ wonders if Rafe knows about this.
Sami finds Brady at Java. She is looking for Mia. Sami knows they’ve been getting along lately but she admits she’s disappointed in him for letting Nicole down. Brady says Nicole’s not thinking straight and wanted to kidnap Sydney. He’s willing to do anything for Nicole such as finding her a lawyer and counseling but he refuses to turn her into a fugitive for life. Sami looks sheepish and admits she gave her money but Nicole’s still there. Brady’s glad. Nicole will finally learn there is no way around this. Sami knows but it’s going to break Nicole’s heart. Brady’s happy but finds it odd to see Sami supportive of her. Sami thinks Nicole has been a good friend to her. Talk turns to Rafe and Brady’s still trying to find Rafe.
Mia arrives at the hospital and Nicole says there’s someone she needs to see. She tells her about Chad serving her with a court order and she can’t fix this, but Mia can. They head into Stefano’s room and Stefano tells Mia that at first he was annoyed that Nicole had this secret but he has grown to love Sydney. Mia is happy to hear this but is confused that EJ thinks differently. Stefano asks her to lie. He has abilities. For example, Nicole shares that he can change the DNA test results to show Chad’s not Sydney’s father. Mia will need to admit that Chad wasn’t her only sexual partner. Mia balks at this but Stefano encourages her to tell everyone she slept with multiple boys and isn’t sure of who the father is. Mia is shocked and can’t do it. She has done enough already. Later, Mia calls Chad to meet her at the pier and Stefano and Nicole thank her for making a wise decision. Mia starts to cry and admits she’s doing it for Sydney. Nicole hugs and thanks her. Nicole paces once Mia leaves and worries about Mia having to lie about all of this. Stefano thinks it’s instinctual but lying is in her genes. Nicole frets that this won’t work but Stefano has faith. Stefano says he’ll tell her how to get Elvis back in her bed.
Mia goes to Chad at the pier and tells him to call off the custody hearing. She doesn’t think he’s the father of Sydney. Chad laughs but she’s serious. He doesn’t believe her. "You’re lying. Why?" Mia lies that after he stopped emailing her, she went with her cousin to Chicago, where they partied for a few weeks. Every night there were new guys. "I liked being anonymous." Chad grins and says, "No way." Mia is positive that’s when she got pregnant. Chad thinks this is total crap and asks why she didn’t tell him this before. She didn’t want Will to learn she was promiscuous. Will comes upon them and Chad says she can tell him herself.

Arianna asks Rafe, "And now you have to prove it. How are you going to prove Nicole switched babies?"
