Melanie fires Titan, Nicole finds something wrong with Sydney and Chloe cheats on Lucas again.
Stephanie gives Philip the good news that Kayla is doing well. He gives her the day off. They profess their love for each other and kiss.
Melanie walks outside of the pub and flashes back to overhearing Phillip ask Stephanie if she regrets having sex with him when they found out Kayla was at the hospital.
In Victor's office, Victor and Brady discuss Melanie. Brady thinks she’s still 100% with them but Victor disagrees. He also feels Brady is soft. Brady doesn’t think girls are all vampires but Victor disagrees. He asks about Chloe Lane. Brady refuses to discuss her, so Victor throws Nicole in his face and reminds him she made them both suffer.
Maggie says hello to Lucas at the hospital and she tells him there are a few things he should know, about Chloe. Behind her, Daniel cringes. Lucas is confused and tells her they’ve got everything out in the open. Kate arrives and says hello to Daniel and then goes to Lucas. She overhears them talking and interrupts. Lucas is supposed to be meeting her and Chloe at Cheatin’ Heart in two minutes! Kate apologizes when Lucas says she’s interrupting a private conversation. She leaves and goes to talk to Daniel. She discusses Chloe with him and he hopes that Chloe doesn’t have second thoughts about the marriage. Kate is thrown and tells him not even to say this! Meanwhile, Maggie tells Lucas that he and Chloe don’t know each other that well. Maggie stammers, but Lucas tells her they’re fine. He has to leave. He goes and Maggie’s lower lip quivers. She looks at Daniel, who is still nearby.
Lexi meets EJ at the pub with a hug and congratulations. EJ tells her how beautiful Sydney is and she wants to see her. EJ doesn’t think now is the best time. He wants to go home and discuss Sami returning to Salem, with Nicole. Lexi asks how he feels about Samantha’s return. "I wish her the best, that’s all,” he says.
At the mansion, Nicole flashes back to switching babies, while Chloe asks her what she has done. “I did something wonderful,” Nicole says, and mentions how she knows Sami’s secret and is upset to be keeping it a secret from EJ. Chloe promises to be there for her if she needs help and Nicole takes her up on it, asking for a favor. She asks Chloe to promise not to tell anyone she knew about Sami being pregnant. Chloe finds that an easy promise. Talk turns to Lucas and Chloe’s not sure she can end things with Daniel. Nicole says she just needs to find a way to make it happen. “You’re in control of everything.” Chloe congratulates Nicole and has to run.
Melanie arrives at Titan and finds out Kayla’s doing better. She is happy for Stephanie, who is on her way out. Melanie tells Philip she’s having second thoughts about working with Titan. There’s a lack of professionalism, she says, and asks why everything is going so slowly in the lab. She tells him things take weeks to get done and every time she comes to work, she sees the sex kitten. Philip disputes that Stephanie’s his sex kitten and he says a memo went out about changes to the project. They argue and Philip notices that all they do is argue. He doesn’t want that. He asks to work it out. “You are such a player,” Melanie accuses. “Don’t try to con a conner!” Philip accuses her of being jealous of Stephanie and she laughs, but agrees to stop discussing Stephanie. Philip reminds her that the con doesn’t work if the person doesn’t care, deep down. Melanie only cares about her project, she maintains. Titan can renew their contract on the project at any point. Melanie already consulted a lawyer friend. Philip knows nothing has been solidified with the DiMera’s. Melanie has them on speed dial, she says, grabbing her phone. She calls EJ, who is just leaving the pub. She tells him she thinks she’d like to go with him. EJ says he’s anxious to start working, but explains he’s got a full day. He’ll be in touch. Melanie makes the conversation on her side sound as though EJ has made an appointment with her. She hangs up. Philip tells her, “It’s not going to happen, Melanie.” She’s making a mistake, he says and moves closer. She tells him she’s not putty in his hands anymore. He accuses her of being childish, and can’t come between he and Stephanie, but she refuses to let him mess with her. Victor finds Melanie and Philip together. Melanie tells him she fired Philip and Victor calls her a traitor and tells Philip to deal with her harshly. Stephanie arrives, unseen and overhears Philip say he’ll bury Melanie.
Chloe goes to Daniel’s place. They discuss Maggie, who asked Daniel to step aside for Lucas. He couldn’t do it. Chloe tries to end it but Daniel reminds her they always try to end it but they can’t. Chloe tries to fight her feelings. He won’t walk away, he says, so she decides that it’s over, but when Daniel pulls her into a kiss, she kisses back. They remove their clothes and have sex.
Brady arrives at the DiMera mansion and finds Nicole with Sydney. He’s in shock. He hadn’t seen her in a while and can’t believe she did it. She tells him Sydney Anne DiMera is Mia’s baby and asks him to keep quiet. She asks for his support. He tells her that her nightmare is just beginning. This is criminal. EJ arrives home and wonders what’s going on with Nicole and Brady. She lies that they were arguing about vaccinations. EJ asks why Brady came. Nicole says he stopped by to wish her luck because he thought she was still pregnant. Brady agrees. He starts to walk away and EJ says he has a knack for bringing people down. Brady apologizes for intruding, but EJ doesn’t like him being around. Nicole tells EJ there’s nothing untoward going on but the baby cries and she has to take care of her.
Stephanie finds Maggie at the hospital and catches her up on dating Philip. Maggie’s happy for her and asks about Melanie. Maggie wonders if she’s causing problems with Stephanie and Philip, but Stephanie assures her she’s not. She couldn’t possibly.
Lucas and Kate meet at Cheatin’ Heart and wonder why Chloe’s so late. Kate thinks early May could be a good wedding date, but Lucas doesn’t answer. He worries about her health. “I’m fine,” she insists. She mentions that Sami’s returning and moving up the wedding date is a good idea to reassure Chloe. Kate cares about her happiness.
