Stefano goes home, Victor tells Brady about Ari's drug dealing, and Mia breaks down after lying to Will and Chad.
Stefano urges Nicole to tell EJ about Mia’s numerous lovers and that Chad’s not the father. Nicole worries Mia won’t lie for them but it doesn’t matter. Stefano reminds her that gossip infects everything. Once Nicole tells EJ, the word will spread.
Nicole leaves Stefano’s room and bumps into Kate. Nicole tells her not to upset Stefano when she visits. Kate goes into Stefano’s room and he says his day is complete. Kate ignores that and asks what he and Nicole are up to. Stefano says it’s a secret and asks if she’ll welcome Nicole back. Kate will do so, but Stefano will owe her! Stefano finds that amusing. She leans in for a kiss and Victor interrupts to see how Stefano’s doing. Stefano’s about to be released and Kate says she’s thrilled, feeling secure and loved. “My dear, dear Katherine,” says Stefano.
At the pier, Will comes upon Mia and Chad when discussing her having numerous partners. Chad asks if Mia’s going to tell Will the truth, she reluctantly tells him the lie about having numerous lovers. Will asks why she’s saying this and where it’s coming from. Mia says when Chad takes the DNA test, he may learn Sydney’s not his. "I don’t know who the father is," she whimpers. Will doesn’t believe her and thinks that she lied to Chad so he wouldn’t go after custody of Sydney. Mia confirms it’s true and Will worries about what else has been a lie. When she told him she loved him? He leaves Mia crying.
At Java, Sami worries about Mia and thinks she’s going out of her mind. Brady asks if she’s turning to her for help. Sami says she turns to Will first.
EJ faxes over a photo of Arianna and says they need to keep a lid on this, because of her FBI brother. EJ needs to know if her brother knows she’s a dealer.
In her room, Ari explains to Rafe that everyone knows Nicole’s secret, that Mia’s Sydney’s mother. Rafe is relieved to finally learn the last piece of the puzzle he needed. Rafe says all of this goes back to Dr. Baker. Rafe spoke to Dr. Baker’s nurse and now knows his theory is fact. The baby Sami carried for nine months wasn’t Grace, but Sydney. Nicole switched babies the night they were born. Dr. Baker was an illegal baby broker and Nicole was desperate and freaked out that Sami would try to take EJ from her. He thinks it’ll be tricky, especially since Nicole has a restraining order out against him. Rafe thinks it’s time he spoke with Mia. Arianna thinks if he goes to Mia, she’ll go to Nicole, who will then make sure he comes up empty handed. Arianna agrees to go to Rafe’s place and bring back some supplies. Once she’s gone, Rafe makes a call to somebody for help and showers. Ari returns with clothes and they are both happy that Rafe threw away his stinky clothes that he had on while he was dragged out of the river. Rafe says he learned that Meredith is in a psych ward. After what she did to him, she went a little madder and was sent to a psychiatric hospital. They feel for Mia, who is going to have to find out that Grace was her baby.
At the mansion, EJ hears Sydney cry. He goes to the foyer, where Nicole and Sydney are and she tells him she’s there to give him his life back. EJ asks her to leave, but Nicole says Mia came clean and admitted she had numerous sexual partners, so Chad may not be Sydney’s father. EJ is doubtful. That doesn’t seem like something Mia would do. Now that Chad’s not Sydney’s father, Nicole thinks Sydney needs him. He’s the only father she has known. Nicole asks him to take her back. She still loves him. She moves in close and they kiss, twice, and EJ admits she’s right. He was never happier than when they were together, but their life together is over. Nicole wishes he’d at least show Sydney love.
Sami arrives home and leaves a message for Will. Chad arrives, looking lost. Sami lets him know she’s concerned about Mia and Chad tells Sami that Mia had multiple partners and he might not be the father of Sydney. Sami isn’t sure she can believe that. Chad breaks down and confesses he never stopped thinking of her the entire time he was gone, but she says she was with all of those guys. Sami realizes his heart is breaking because he still loves her. Sami worries Will heard this and they rush out to find them.
Victor finds Brady in the living room, upset. He asks if it’s about Arianna and Brady admits everything is fine with him and Arianna. Victor’s sorry to hear and has news for him. Arianna’s a drug dealer!
Nicole finds Mia on a bench at the pier, upset. Mia told Chad all of the lies and he believed her. Then she had to tell Will, who broke up with her. Nicole thinks she should give it time. She shouldn’t underestimate Will. Mia feels like such a loser but Nicole disagrees and comforts her. Sami walks in on them and overhears a snippet of their conversation where Nicole tells Mia she did the right thing.
EJ is thrilled to receive Stefano home again. Kate will make sure the chef follows her directions for healthy meals. She runs off and Stefano tells EJ his marriage will bloom into a beautiful flower. He’s hoping EJ can bring happiness to his life, too. EJ sighs and says Nicole was just there with news that Chad’s not Sydney’s father. Stefano thinks this is terrible that a young woman could disgrace herself. EJ says Nicole wants him to accept Sydney into his life, now that they don’t know the biological father. EJ can’t do it.
Chad sits at Java and wonders if Mia really had sex with all those other guys. He’s still going through with the test. He needs to know the truth.
