The girls win at poker, Ciara picks up a new Tommy bear, and Stephanie bumps into Nathan.
Melanie says it’s getting a little stuffy in the cabin and Arianna smirks. She feels overdressed. Melanie deals seven card stud and Arianna asks if they should let one of them win so they’re not completely humiliated but Melanie reminds her they made fun of them and Brady catches her counting cards! Nathan laughs. He’s not surprised. "It’s not the first time this body has driven women to desperate measures." He flexes as the girls roll their eyes! Melanie and Nathan argue when Nathan urges Melanie not to spill cranberry juice on his designer clothes. Melanie notes the shirt is a knockoff and tells him he’ll have to buy it back! Arianna thinks it’ll be fun to see how they get back to Salem in their boxers! Nathan asks Brady to borrow $30 for the jeans, until pay day. Melanie asks him to dinner, and he’s in. He wants to know where she learned to count cards. They should take on Vegas, he suggests! Brady asks Arianna to dinner as well, in exchange for his clothing! Melanie and Nathan take a rain check as Nathan’s got rounds to make and Melanie has studying for a test for nursing. They banter and he admits he can’t help her study because he’s her teacher’s assistant! Melanie secretly tells Brady to go after Arianna, but he tells her not to match him up with anyone again. The foursome leaves for the ferry.
At the manse, Bo and Philip discuss how Stephanie deserves honesty. Philip doesn’t want to lose her. Bo says Stephanie was right to walk. Philip can’t have it both ways. He can’t have Stephanie, the money and the power. Philip likes the idea of that but Bo says it won’t happen. She has been through too much. Philip says there is no job he could love more than Titan. He thinks his brother has it all.
Victor is angry that Stephanie broke up with Philip but Stephanie says he doesn’t have her under his thumb. Victor tries to apologize for the way he has come across. He knows Philip is deeply in love with her but Stephanie says this is about survival. After she testifies, Victor will change his tune. Philip arrives at the pub and finds Victor there. He tells him to leave her alone. They’ll work this out on their own.
Caroline comes to Victor’s table at the pub and asks if he has another place to be. He’s giving his son and Stephanie privacy. Caroline is angry, she says, and wants Victor to leave her granddaughter alone! She calls him a sentimental fool and won’t let him put Stephanie through what she went through.
Outside the pub, Stephanie tells Philip to stay away from her. She has to stick to her guns. Philip will be there for her, he professes, but Stephanie says this is a no-win situation. She begs him to let her go. It’s hard enough as it is. He says goodbye and kisses her on the cheek.
Hope and Ciara arrive at the park and Hope apologizes to Ciara for taking away her Tommy bear and hands her a stuffed giraffe. Ciara goes to play with her friend, Tracey, when Hope’s friend Ellen stops by. Hope thanks Ellen for looking after Ciara and rushes off to see Bo.
At Java Café, Bo and Hope discuss Stephanie and Philip’s break up. They wonder if Philip can walk away from the Kiriakis family. Bo thinks Philip would be happy with Stephanie, the way Bo’s happy with Hope. They discuss Bo’s visions and after everything that has happened to Zack, she couldn’t bear it again.
At the park, Ciara and Tracey trade toys, once Ciara notices that Tracey has a Tommy bear.
Melanie and Nathan arrive at the hospital. They discuss Melanie’s studies and once she’s done, he tells her she’s going to owe him dinner. After he leaves, she thinks rather than studying, she’ll probably dream of him in his boxers!
Arianna and Brady arrive at the pier and discuss where they’ll go eat. Arianna asks why he looked so intense when Nathan asked them to play poker for beer. Brady lets her know he was a coke addict, and tries to stay as clean as he can. He explains the situation and asks if she’d like to get Thai food. Arianna says this isn’t going to work. She’s not having dinner with him – ever.
Bo and Hope pick up Ciara from the park. Ellen tells them her stuffed animal is in her backpack. They pan to Tracey’s backpack which holds the giraffe!
Melanie meets Philip at the pub. She tells him about her afternoon and notices how distracted he is and he reluctantly tells her Stephanie broke off their engagement. "Oh, so you want to share some cheesecake?" Philip asks her not to get all bent out of shape, but Melanie says Stephanie always breaks up with him!
At the hospital, Maxine tells Stephanie she nailed her interview. Stephanie turns away and goes to open her handbag, but barges right into Nathan. They apologize, and he seems interested in her as he helps her put back the makeup.

Brady asks what Melanie’s up to. She says, "Damage control." Brady says he’ll handle his own life but Melanie says this isn’t about him. "I'm working for Philip right now."
Stephanie tells Philip on the phone, not to call her again. They need a clean break.
Rafe says, "You need to call someone up to do your dirty work for you. You afraid to break a nail or something?" EJ says, "No, I'm not." He moves in on Rafe!
