Kate succeeds at poisoning Chloe, Melanie plays matchmaker and Sami and Rafe argue then have make-up sex.
At the pier, Kate watches as Chloe sits beside Daniel and takes a big bite out of the green apple she poisoned! Chloe finds the apple tastes funny and wants to throw it out, while Kate watches, upset! She convinces Chloe that the apple is fine and Chloe rolls her eyes and says, “Fine.” She continues eating the apple. When Allie rushes to Kate’s arms, Kate urges Chloe and Daniel to take her for a walk. Both of them beg off, so Kate pressures them and says they’re professional. Their relationship is over, so she doesn't see any issue with this.
Later, they arrive at Java Café, and Allie goes off to play while Kate explains her idea for an episode where the audience can learn the truth about them. Lucas saunters over and asks what Kate’s on about. Kate explains they’ll talk about Leukemia, chemo and Chloe donating her bone marrow to her. Lucas likes the idea but Chloe and Daniel hem and haw. Chloe suddenly starts to feel ill and Lucas and Daniel ask if she’s alright while Kate grins like a Cheshire cat. Chloe says it’s just a headache and asks them not to fuss over her. Lucas takes Allie home with him and Chloe continues to feel unwell. Chris calls Kate and they do business. She has to leave but asks Chloe and Daniel to get some ideas for their shows. After Kate leaves, Daniel offers to drive Chloe home.
Maggie gets the cleaning supplies ready for the cabin when Melanie arrives and tries to talk Maggie out of helping her clean the cabin. Maggie can tell she’s hiding something and asks what she’s up to! Melanie doesn’t want Nathan there, either, but she’s trying to play matchmaker! If her friends got accidentally stranded there, she hoped that one thing would lead to another! Maggie is hesitant about allowing this but says she has faith in Melanie, who she calls a work in progress. Melanie admits a part of her is doing this because it might be good for her. Good karma. She wants to find somebody who loves her for who she is. Maggie is touched and hugs Melanie.
Arianna comes out of the pub and bumps right into Brady. She turns to leave, but stops and asks if he can talk Sami into stop seeing Rafe. Brady finds her request to be bizarre. Later, Brady finds Arianna at the pier. She jokes that he’s following her. He says he’s concerned. She seems wired. Arianna’s insulted but Brady thinks she could use some relaxation. Arianna thinks Brady’s nice – creepy, but nice, but she’s not looking. Neither is he, Brady admits. He says Salemites seem to think those who are single need to be pushed together. Both of them enjoy their own company and Arianna says they’re friends. They go their separate ways, but look back at one another on their way.
At the pub, Rafe refuses to answer Sami’s questions about Emily, causing Sami to become suspicious. Rafe reminds her she already agreed not to ask questions about Emily and then went to Arianna. Sami claims she just wants to know about his life and his past but Rafe thinks she’ll find out about that when he’s ready to tell her about his past! Sami is astounded when he tells her if she goes about trying to find out stuff on her own, they’ll never work. Sami is surprised he’d break up with her over this, and asks how he can keep secrets from her when she’s an open book to him! She thinks he’s reverting back to old ways, not opening up to her and she refuses to live like that. She leaves.
Sami and Rafe arrive at her townhouse and Rafe apologizes for arguing with her. She’s right. They’ve some trust issues, but he wants to work through them, because he loves her. "You don’t even know me," Sami says. She reminds him she’s impulsive and obviously, she would go to Arianna for clues about him. She’s not reverting, she says. "This is me. If you can’t handle that, then we don’t have a future." She admits she’s protecting herself from being hurt. Rafe admits he loves the impulsive stuff she does but not the lying. He is sorry she feels shut out but loves her. Sami professes her love for him and they kiss, passionately, and start tearing each other’s clothes off. They head to the bedroom and have sex. Afterward, Rafe tells Sami he’d never hurt her and loves her. Later, they pick up their clothing from the living room and Rafe becomes hungry, though he’s not sure he can handle her terrible cooking. Sami suggests take-out and when Rafe goes to shower, Sami finds out she’s broke, so goes into Rafe’s wallet, where she finds a memorial card of Emily Hudson.
Brady finds Melanie at the pub and Melanie asks Brady if he’d like to help clean the Horton Cabin with her tomorrow. Brady reluctantly agrees. He could use the distraction, he admits.
At home, Kate listens to a new recording of Daniel and Chloe’s voices. Lucas arrives and says he dropped Allie off with Roman. He is worried about Chloe, who hasn’t called yet. Kate thinks Chloe’s fine and calls him a wonderful husband. Lucas is annoyed and thinks Kate thinks he’s whipped. They get into it about Chloe and her lack of a singing career. Lucas becomes more upset by the minute so Kate placates him. She respects Chloe’s talent, she says, and calms Lucas down.
Brady arrives at Maggie’s place. As she rushes around for her handbag, Brady tunes out. He admits he has a lot on his mind but it’s nothing important. He admits he met a woman and can’t stop thinking about her! Maggie giggles as Brady admits he feels foolish. He thinks the girl feels the same as he does but thinks she’s hiding it. Maggie suggests he take things slow. After all, he’s still in recovery. Brady realizes she’s right and will make a point to keep his distance.
Meanwhile, Arianna goes into Java Café and meets Melanie, who tells her that she has to help her landlady clean the cabin tomorrow. She was thinking it’d go a lot faster if she had help… Arianna realizes she means her! Melanie thinks it’s a great idea and their plan is set.
Chloe and Daniel find themselves outside and Chloe feels faint. Her eyes roll back and she faints into Daniel’s arms.
