Nicole worries about Sami, Melanie wheedles Philip, and Bo pleads with Hope.
Outside, Melanie tells Philip that he could have it all, but Philip says he won't give up Stephanie for her. Melanie replies that his loss is EJ DiMera's gain! Philip tells her she is playing a dangerous game, and Melanie retorts that speaking of games - his new girlfriend has certainly affected his! She points out that he's blowing everything for a girl who can't accept him for who he is. Philip says all Melanie has done in this town is make trouble. Melanie stays on theme, saying that Stephanie only likes one side of him, but she likes everything about him - they'd make a great team. Philip tries to leave, but Melanie pleads with him to show Stephanie the door! Philip calls her insane, but Melanie continues, saying that he's probably getting real bored with Stephanie! Philip says she's delusional - he and Stephanie are getting closer all the time. Melanie laughs, saying Stephanie looks nauseous when she's with him. Philip warns Melanie that if she does anything to screw him over - or Titan - he'll do everything in his power to destroy her. As he walks away, Melanie giggles, "God, I hope so!"
EJ finds Nicole upstairs. They kiss and she asks him to make love to her, but EJ reminds her that it is too soon - she just had a baby! Nicole covers, saying that making love can also mean other things. EJ says they can lay together, so he and Nicole lay down on the bed and proceed to laugh and kiss. When the baby makes noises, Nicole goes to get a bottle. EJ gets a call from Roman. EJ tells him that he wants to know when Samantha will be coming back - his little boy misses her terribly! Nicole appears in the doorway and listens. After Roman tells EJ that they are still being cautious, EJ hangs up, and Nicole asks what is going on. EJ tells her that they caught the killer. Nicole starts ranting about Sami coming back and monopolizing his time! EJ says that Sami is Johnnie's mother - she'll always be a part of their lives! Nicole thinks back to swapping the baby in Dr. Baker's office, and calms down. She says that she just wants EJ to herself - and Sami hates her, and stirs up trouble for her! EJ promises not to let Sami come between them. Nicole accepts that, then starts fishing to see if EJ has heard about any drastic changes in Sami's life. He says he has no idea, then takes the bottle and feeds the baby. EJ's phone rings - it's Stefano. EJ leaves the room to take the call, and Nicole asks the baby what they're going to do when Sami comes home!
Hope comes out of a room and hands Bo her police badge. He says he's sorry this happened - she says she is too. Bo says he realizes that she wishes he had told her about the vision. She notes that she believes in them - they could have done something - and for that, she'll never forgive herself. Bo says, "Or me." Bo is angry about Hope losing her badge, but she says it's not just about that. Bo protests that he loves her - after all they've been through, they can't let this come between them. Hope says she can't do this with him - not right now! She will never forget Kayla bleeding from her bullet. Bo pleads with her to give him a chance to make this right, asking her to come home with him. Hope says she knows what's at stake, but she's not ready, and doesn't know when she will be.
In the Brady Pub, Max quizzes Chelsea on whether or not she wants to be more than friends. She blurts out that of course she wants more, but then tries to recant. Max won't let it go, but Chelsea tries to change the subject, asking about him being worried that Stephanie is in danger with Philip. He says he doesn't have romantic feelings for Stephanie anymore, but he has out of control feelings for her! Max grins, saying she can't be very surprised. She says that Stephanie told her she would have a problem with it, if they dated. Max says that's tough, but Chelsea points out that it's her best friend. He tells her she has to get over worrying about what other people think. Chelsea agrees. Max talks about seeing her on the pier and thinking that if he ever got her back again, he'd never let her go! They kiss.
Kayla, Steve, and Stephanie discuss the situation with Hope in the hospital room. Stephanie can't believe that she would actually get suspended - she saved Kayla's life! Steve says it's just the procedure that has to happen when a cop shoots someone. Kayla sighs and says it's not the loss of Hope's badge that she's worried about! Stephanie talks about Bo and Hope, and wonders why it always has to be so hard! Kayla asks if she broke it off with Philip, but Stephanie says not yet. She explains that he's great to her, it's just his business she doesn't care for. Steve says if she gives Philip enough time, he'll hurt her! Stephanie doesn't want them to treat her like a little kid. She begins to cry, and her father apologizes. Stephanie says she has already decided that her and Philip are over. Steve hugs her, and she then says her goodbyes and leaves. Roman arrives and says there is news about Hope - but it's not what they want to hear. He tells them that Hope lost her badge, but he'll do everything he can to get it back. Kayla says she's calling Abe, and then the Governor if she has to! Steve takes the phone, saying she did everything she could by testifying - now she needs to recover.
At Titan, Philip decides to call Stephanie, but gets her voicemail. He apologizes for not coming right back, saying he'll be at the office for awhile. Soon Stephanie shows up, and Philip apologizes, saying that he ran after Melanie because she was up to something, but Stephanie says that he will always find a reason to obsess over her! Philip says he can't stand her, but Stephanie points out that she has something he wants - and he'll do whatever it takes to get it, no matter the cost! Philip says it's true - he won't let Melanie or EJ take what belongs to him! Stephanie says Melanie has taken over his life. She asks why he can't just be satisfied with what he has?! Philip retorts that then he'd have no drive - perhaps she'd like him to sell insurance?! Stephanie asks why he's being mean. Philip sighs and says she needs to understand about Titan - it's important that she does because he cares about her. She says she doesn't like the other side of him - she just wants him to be sweet and gentle. Philip kisses her and says he wants to be with her, but Stephanie is still convinced that Melanie has a hold over him - she leaves.
Melanie walks into the pub just in time to see Max and Chelsea kissing. She grins and says she's happy for them. Chelsea says, "I'll bet!" Melanie wonders why everyone thinks the worst of her! Chelsea excuses herself, and Melanie beams at Max, saying, "So! You and Chelsea! I called that one!" Melanie gloats, "Wait until Princess Stephanie finds out!" Max says her approval means the world to him, but she should get away from him. Melanie wonders if he's going to ask her about Philip. Max warns her about playing the Kiriakis's and the DiMera's against one another, but Melanie says it's a rush!
Nicole wakes up from a deep sleep to find the baby missing from the cradle. She calls out, and EJ comes in holding the baby. He tells Nicole that she's fine. Nicole asks him why he is giving her 'that look' then - what's wrong? EJ says she knows the answer to that - it's a nightmare of monumental proportions! EJ says it takes nerves of steel to have crossed the DiMeras! He tells her that she is going to pay for what she's done - revenge is their specialty! As Nicole pleads, EJ tells her to pack her things and get out - he's taking his baby to see her real mother! Nicole cries out, then awakens. She thinks about how that was just a bad dream, and that Sami may be coming home, but she won't take her baby!

. I love the idea of Belle & Shawn as a cop & a nurse growing together, raising their family, & being one of those solid couples others can turn to in their time of need. It is still puzzling to me that Belle & Shawn were written off the show.
