EJ watches Sydney sleep and tells her she’s beautiful. Nicole arrives, crying happy tears. EJ thinks Sydney looks like her. Nicole takes a call from Mia, who is packed for Japan but wanting to know how the baby is and what her name is. After Nicole tells her, she hangs up and EJ asks who she was speaking with. Nicole ignores the question and Stefano arrives with congratulations and meets Sydney. He thinks she looks exactly like ‘Giovanni’. Nicole stammers and they discuss how easy and fast Nicole says the birth was. Stefano is upset and rants and raves that EJ wasn’t there and that she didn’t give birth at University, where he donated a wing, just for his grandchild. Nicole tells him that’s enough!

While wandering through the convent, Sami feeds Grace a bottle and promises that she’ll have a happy life. Saying goodbye to her will be the hardest thing, but she promises they’ll be together soon.

At home, Hope looks sadly at her gun and flashes back to accidentally shooting Kayla. She criticizes Bo for keeping quiet about his visions. “We’re partners!” Bo reminds her she was in a hostage situation and did what she had to do. Chelsea comes down the stairs and offers to take care of Ciara, so they can take care of each other but Bo is off to work. Hope explains they need to go by the book. She makes a call to the hospital and is relieved to find out Kayla had a good night. Chelsea comforts Hope and asks what’s happening with her and Bo.

Chloe enters the hospital and flashes back to Maggie giving her one more chance to redeem herself. She finds Daniel and tells him they need to talk.

Lucas finds Max reading the paper at the pub. He’s astonished to find out Kayla was shot and the mayor’s murderer is dead. He calls Chloe.

Back at the hospital, Chloe gets a call from Lucas but ignores it. Daniel gets a page and runs off. On her way out, Chloe bumps into Maggie, who asks if she broke off the affair yet. Later, Maggie finds Daniel and tells him the affair is over and he’s going to break it off. He feigns innocence at first but Maggie says Chloe admitted it. Daniel doesn’t think this is the place. It’s none of her business, but explains that if the choice were easy, Chloe would have made it already. Maggie thinks Chloe and Lucas have a good shot at happiness and threatens to tell Lucas if the affair goes on.

Back at the pub, Max and Lucas discuss Sami returning home. Max goes to the hospital to get Caroline while Lucas wonders to himself how Sami’s going to hide the pregnancy.

Back at the convent, Sami thanks Sister Theresa, who says there’s something about her that gets people on her side. Sami thinks it’s Grace. Sami’s thankful the nuns can take care of her daughter, though she’s not sure how she’ll leave her. Sami talks to Grace and warns her about Stefano and tells her how much she loves all her children. She knows doing what’s best for Grace means she has to leave her.

Max finds Bo at the pier. Bo explains he’s in the doghouse with Hope. He says he took a man’s life last night and Hope shot Kayla. It’ll take a while to get over it. Max offers to take care of Ciara if they go away together but Bo can’t get away. He takes a call and receives bad news. He makes another call and tells Max it was good to talk to him, but he’s got to go.

Back at the mansion, Nicole tells Stefano that the drama is over, but Stefano wants to investigate the clinic. He assumes she’s hiding something. Nicole doesn’t want him breathing down her neck and yells that she’d rather live in a mobile home than go through this all the time. Stefano laughs. “I see that motherhood has softened you.” Nicole means it, she says, causing Stefano to tell her that’s one of the reasons why he likes her. EJ laughs, admitting he loves when Nicole puts Stefano in his place. Both EJ and Stefano leave as Chloe shows up. After seeing the baby, Chloe blurts out that she’s been seeing Daniel, yet she loves Lucas. She’s torn and not sure what to do. Nicole asks how many times they were together. Chloe admits more than once. Nicole realizes Chloe can’t end it and wonders if this is about being free. “You love Lucas, but not enough to belong to him for the rest of your life.” Chloe confesses that Maggie knows and she’s not sure what she’ll do about it. Chloe professes to love Lucas and marriage to him would be a dream. Nicole urges her to make it happen. She almost owns up to the baby switch, causing Chloe to ask, “Nicole, what did you do?”

At the pub, EJ bumps into Lucas and tells him Nicole had the baby last night. “Good for you,” says Lucas. Lucas tells EJ Marino’s killer’s dead and wonders when Sami will return home. EJ didn’t know and comments how Sami’s not going to be able to affect his life anymore, now that he’s a family man. Lucas smirks. “I wouldn’t be so sure of that.” Lucas reminds EJ that Samantha and Nicole hate each other and they share custody of Johnny. Later, EJ and Stefano have the same conversation, at another table.

Chelsea and Max meet outside the pub and discuss how much Bo and Hope’s situation has changed overnight. They’re not sure what’s going on, but they agree that Hope’s pushing Bo away. Max mentions the phone calls that Bo got at the pier and worries that things will only get worse.

Bo arrives home just as Hope is reaching for the phone. Bo asks her not to pick up and tells her it’s Internal Affairs. They want to see her now. “I’ll take you down there.” Hope asks if this is procedure, but Bo can’t answer that. They take off.

At the hospital, Maggie thinks Lucas needs to know that the woman he’s marrying is involved with another. “Either I am ensured this affair is over, or I will do what I believe I have to.” Daniel retorts, “You’re tired and angry.” Maggie maintains her threat but Daniel refuses to let Chloe go. Maggie leaves when Lucas arrives at the hospital with flowers for Kayla.
