The engagement party is underway, John remembers more about Marlena and Nicole's lies get worse.
Victor stops Nicole and EJ from entering his home to attend Chloe's engagement party. EJ calls him a cranky bastard, so Victor retorts that EJ's a damned fool to be involved with Nicole. He wonders how many lies Nicole has told him so far. EJ yells that Nicole's the woman he loves and is going to marry. He can't believe Victor can be so callous to a pregnant woman! "Isn't anything sacred," he spits out.
Marlena continues to read about Dr. Charlotte Taylor's past, at the pub. She finds out that the doctor has won awards and makes a call to another doctor who co-won the award, and asks for information about Dr. Taylor.
In hypnotherapy at Charlotte's office, John tells the doctor that he sees the love of his life, as he is hypnotized. He remembers being chained up with the love of his life - Marlena. He grows continuously anxious as he tells the doctor he needs to help her. "I can't let her die," he yells and asks God for strength, while tears stream down his face. Charlotte slowly wakes John from his hypnotherapy, and he says he has no recollection of whether or not he remembered anything. Charlotte refuses to share the content of what he learned until she examines the videotape, making John blow up. "If you leave here like this, you may never get your memories back," warns Charlotte.
Daniel returns to the engagement party and recalls making out with Chloe. Kate finds him. She's glad he has returned and assumes he had a hospital call. He says Chloe made him return and makes a toast to Chloe and Lucas, asking them to be forever happy with the choices they make in their lives. Nearby, Stephanie and Philip discuss how happy Chloe and Lucas look and go off to the kitchen, while Chelsea asks if Chloe has picked out a dress yet. Victor interrupts and rudely quips that at least we all know that it won't be white! Lucas stands up for his bride and tells Victor off, and then is called away on the phone, leaving Nicole time to ask Chloe what's making her so miserable. Chloe admits she has made a huge mistake and wants to do the right thing. Chloe goes to find Lucas while Daniel asks Nicole how things are going with the new doctor. She says he's competent and has no complaints, but Daniel says he doesn't believe her!
In the foyer, Chelsea tells Kate that Victor is no longer misbehaving. Chelsea confesses that Daniel's out of her system and Kate wonders if it's because she moved on with Max. Chelsea denies this and is tired of everyone assuming she's with Max! They're just friends!
Nearby, Lucas returns from the phone and when EJ tells him about Victor's behavior, Lucas assumes it's a warning. Maybe he should listen. A girl like Nicole's never satisfied, he maintains, but EJ disagrees. Maybe she wasn't satisfied with him but she's well taken care of, now. Max finds Lucas to discuss a bachelor party – with strippers, but Lucas lets him down, much to Max's shock. Lucas thinks one day Max will understand. There'll come a time when he'll want to spend time alone with Chelsea. Max's face registers surprise and he tells Lucas they're just friends. Lucas thinks they'd make a cute couple!
Nearby, Philip hugs Chloe and welcomes her to the family as Daniel and Stephanie watch. When Daniel approaches Nicole, asking what her new doctor's name is, Nicole drops her plate of food and EJ comes to her aid. He goes off to get her coat as Mia calls, asking to see Nicole!
Chloe says goodbye to most of her guests in the foyer and thanks Kate for the party. Kate calls tonight all about her and her happiness.
Back in the living room, Victor rants to Daniel about Chloe and the party, but doesn't expect it when Daniel sticks up for Chloe. Victor accuses Lucas of only being interested in a woman for her 'bazoombas', much to Daniel's disgust. He calls Victor misogynistic and asks him not to talk about women like that around him. He asks for a little respect.
In the foyer, Kate discusses how much Chloe means to her and Lucas. They hug, and when Daniel comes out into the foyer, he and Chloe share a glance.
EJ returns to Nicole with her coat as Nicole is saying goodbye to Mia. EJ wonders who Mia is, so Nicole lies and tells him that Mia's a girl she met at the doctor's office, who found her bracelet. She's going to pick it up. EJ offers to go along for the ride, but Nicole refuses him.
Stephanie and Philip arrive at Titan to find a disc marked 'Alternative Fuel' and Stephanie asks him to promise that he won't work past seven for the entire week. He explains how things work at Titan and then talk turns to the engagement party and after witnessing a hug between he and Chloe, Stephanie wants to know how he feels about her. He reassures her he feels great about the upcoming wedding and tells her he's with a sexy woman now - her. Stephanie seems pleased to hear this and jokes that he's sexually harassing her! Philip suddenly realizes that people are going to gossip about them, so he doesn't think they should work together anymore. Stephanie confuses this for him trying to break up. Philip's not breaking up with her, but he needs to give her a new supervisor. Stephanie yells at him for making her feel insecure, but he points out that it's not hard to! They fight, playfully, and start kissing, passionately.
John arrives at the pub and tells Marlena he had his first hypnotherapy session tonight. She's excited until he tells her he remembered nothing. He doesn't want to go back but Marlena tells him about the background check she has done that has come up good. "She's a keeper," she tells him, causing him to ask if she's giving him permission to date her. Marlena is talking about Dr. Taylor's qualifications, she retorts, which are good enough for a second chance, in her opinion. John agrees to give Charlotte one more session and leaves. Afterward, Marlena is puzzled by a call she makes to somebody who knows Charlotte. She finds out that Charlotte left Minneapolis and says, "That does seem odd."
Nearby, Max and Chelsea take a seat and Max admits he's happy he decided to go to the party. They agree Victor livened things up and Chelsea still can't believe Kate and Daniel broke up. Max asks if she's going to make a move on him now, which upsets Chelsea. "That's annoying, you already asked me that at the party," she complains, then reassures Max that she has zero interest in Daniel and wonders why he cares! He jokes that now she and Kate can do speed dating together. They discuss how it's nice not to be dating and have to deal with jealousy. Just then, Michelle, a waitress comes to them and asks for their order. When Max orders perfectly for Chelsea, she laughs and orders a perfect meal for him. The waitress calls them a cute couple, causing them to become annoyed.
Back at the Kiriakis mansion, Lucas and Chloe discuss wanting to spend some alone time together, but Chloe doesn't feel deserving. Lucas says this is how it is to be a part of the family! Chloe ominously says things change and nothing lasts forever. Lucas laughs. "That sounds like a Beetles song." As he goes off to get the car, Daniel pounces on Chloe. "We're not over by a long shot," he promises.
EJ and Nicole arrive back to the DiMera mansion, where EJ refuses to let Nicole drive the car on her own to go to Mia's place. Nicole finally agrees and after he goes up to bed, she calls Mia with the news. Mia asks Nicole to bring her fiancé tomorrow. "No excuses, no tricks."
In her office, Dr. Taylor reviews John's tapes and seems interested in the part where John admits Marlena's the love of his life.

Nicole tells Mia, "There is no other way to say it. You can never meet my fiancé."
Max says, "Nick's getting sentenced today." Stephanie sadly tells him, "All of his friends should be with him."
Melanie takes the stand and tells the court, "My name is Melanie Layton. It was my father who was killed."
