Bo searches for Theo on the pier, Chloe calls Daniel, and Nicole begs John for help as everyone celebrates Christmas!

Nicole wakes up in bed while EJ watches her. Nicole notices her fake pregnancy belly isn’t attached to her but on her bed and starts to freak out. EJ confronts her and says that she’s up to her old tricks. He accuses her while choking her. Suddenly, Nicole wakes up, overly emotional and touches her belly to secure that it’s in place. She sighs that it was just a nightmare, for now.

The traditional Christmas celebrations have begun at Alice Horton’s house. Maggie comments on the necklace from Kate and cheerfully says that Kate giving her that necklace proves that Kate is sure she’s the right girl for Lucas. Lucas, Doug, and Julie walk in and say that Alice and Mickey are watching movies with Allie. Julie notices Chloe’s necklace and Doug tells Chloe that she’s a welcome addition to the family. Chloe thanks everyone for being so nice.

Meanwhile, Daniel is in bed, drinking alone and recalling the night in the cabin with Chloe. He tells himself, “Let her go man, she is not available!”
Back at the Horton house, Chloe excuses herself to call her parents. She into the hallway and calls a surprised Daniel instead. Chloe tells him that she can’t talk but she just wanted to ask about his finger. Daniel tells her not to worry but Chloe says she does worry and can’t stop. Chloe explains that she was just embarrassed about what she was wearing that night at the cabin. Lucas interrupts and tells her to wind it up. Daniel overhears and they wish each other a Merry Christmas and hang up.
At the pier, Lexi tells Theo that they should get going. As soon as Lexi turns her head, Theo runs off and Lexi calls after him. Meanwhile, Bo’s putting Zack’s stocking up as he gets the vision of the hospital again. As Lexi screams after Theo, Bo realizes that the images in his head are about Theo! Bo rushes to leave but Abe stops him at the door. Bo asks him where Theo is and Abe tells him Theo is with Lexi. Bo urges Abe to call Lexi and check on Theo. Meanwhile, at the pier, Lexi looks out into the water and cries, “The river.” Lexi frantically searches for Theo, while Abe calls her. Lexi sobs and tells him that Theo ran off and they’re at the pier. Abe cries, “Oh my God!”

Abe, Chelsea, and Bo reach the pier and Bo asks Lexi if she noticed anyone suspicious who could have taken Theo. Lexi cries in Abe’s arms and thinks that Theo ran off the pier. While Abe tries to decipher what happened, Bo gets the vision again and starts his search. He finds Theo’s toy dog beside the pier. Lexi falls on her knees and sobs. Abe consoles her as she starts praying. Abe and Lexi look out into the water and Lexi cries that it’s been too long!
Bo continues searching the pier and suddenly sees Zack running away. Bo calls after him and chases him. Zack reveals that he’s with Theo and they run away. Bo catches up to them and hugs Zack, but when he looks at him again, it’s Theo. Bo calls Abe to tell him that he found Theo and that he’s fine. Abe tells Lexi and they are overjoyed as Lexi thanks God.

John and Marlena stand in front of the Brady Pub and wish each other a Merry Christmas. Marlena is glad that John is joining his family for Christmas Eve. Brady walks by and is surprised that John is smiling. John looks at Brady and repeats that Christmas Eve is meant to be spent with family, even if you don’t like them. Brady takes offense and tells Marlena to have a nice night as he tries to leave. Marlena reassures Brady that it’s just John’s sense of humor. John tells Brady that he wasn’t talking about him and reminds Brady that if he blows it with him, he’d lose points with Marlena. John asks Brady for a favor, and Brady agrees but John warns him to wait and hear what it is.

Dressed for Christmas celebrations, Nicole and Stefano enter the living room. Stefano apologizes to Nicole for his actions with the choice of her doctor. They wish each other a Merry Christmas and Stefano starts to suggest baby boy names as EJ walks in. Tony walks in and remarks that his invitation must have gotten lost in the mail. Stefano replies that he has an open invitation. EJ wishes Tony a Merry Christmas and asks where Anna is. Tony tells everyone that Anna is in Switzerland with Carrie and Stefano asks why he didn’t go with her. Tony says he’d rather be near his father.

John, Marlena, and Brady stand in front of the DiMera mansion. John states that this is his family and he wants to show Stefano that he’s not broken and not alone. Stefano answers the door to warmly welcome them in. Nicole greets everyone and grabs Brady to tell him that if he doesn’t help her, he needs to get John to. Nicole tells Brady that she gave Dr. Baker an artifact worth $20,000 to tie him over for now but that it’s not enough. EJ walks by and tells Nicole that she looks upset. He coldly asks Brady why Nicole looks upset every time he is around. Nicole reassures EJ that everything is okay and she’s just emotional because of hormones. EJ gets a phone call and walks away for a few seconds. When he returns, Brady walks away. EJ says he has to take care of some emails for work and he’ll be back shortly.
Brady returns to Nicole as EJ walks away. Nicole pleads with Brady and says that she’ll lose EJ if he doesn’t help her. Meanwhile, Stefano offers John new cigars and says that he’s happy that John dropped by but asks why. Marlena and Tony observe them from a distance as Marlena wonders why Tony is here and not with Anna. Tony suspects that Stefano is up to something because he is pitting family against each other, with EJ at the top of the empire. Marlena tells Tony that John wanted to show Stefano that he was fine. Marlena wistfully says that this makes John finally human and emotional.
Meanwhile, Stefano tells John that he hopes they can put the past behind them. John tells him to keep on hoping. Stefano says it seems like there’s tension whenever the family comes together, even when they’re celebrating. John tells Stefano that he’s here for two reasons: One, he’s not afraid of Stefano but if he harms the people John is 'invested in', Stefano should be afraid of him, and two, John wishes Stefano a Merry Christmas. Stefano wishes him a Merry Christmas and John announces it’s time for him to leave. Nicole overhears and asks John if he’s going yet. Nicole walks John out into the foyer, and says that she needs his help with a surprise for EJ. When they’re alone, Nicole confesses that she needs a lot of money and she can’t tell him why. John tells her he can’t help her, but offers to set her up in a hotel and pay for a plane ticket anywhere.

In the living room, Marlena tells Brady that coming here was good for John and she senses a change in him, thanks to Brady. They wish each other a Merry Christmas and Marlena says it’s time to leave. Marlena interrupts John and Nicole to leave. John wishes all a Merry Christmas and they leave. Stefano approaches Nicole and asks if she’s sure that she’s alright. Brady eavesdrops and when Stefano leaves, Brady offers to talk to Marlena for Nicole in order to find a way to tell EJ the truth. EJ interrupts, annoyed that Brady is still around. Brady shows himself out. EJ asks Nicole if she is okay and she responds by asking for one more thing for Christmas: if everyone could stop asking her that! Tony interrupts and says he’s going to leave. Nicole and EJ walk back to the living room where Stefano sits alone in the dark. Stefano excuses himself to give them privacy. Nicole wishes him a Merry Christmas again as Stefano wistfully says that he can’t wait for next Christmas with the newest member of their family. He walks off and says he’s a happy man. EJ kisses her and says he is too.

Back in the Horton house, Chloe looks at Alice’s photos and Lucas asks if she’d like to have that many kids one day. Julie asks Maggie if she ever thought Lucas and Chloe would end up together. Maggie says no but she’s never seen Lucas so happy. They cheerfully agree that Alice had a good idea and look at the tree. The Bradys and Carvers enter the Horton house to begin celebrations. Bo tells Hope he had a little help finding Theo, and that he’d explain later. Everyone starts the traditional trimming of the tree for Alice to see in the morning. John observes and asks Marlena why she brought him here. Marlena answers that this is what Christmas is really about. John looks at the tree in thought and finally realizes how important it is to remember. Meanwhile, Maggie and Julie give Chloe and Lucas a box of ornaments, including a new one made for Chloe. She thanks them and goes to place it on the tree next to Lucas’ but it falls and breaks. Chloe apologizes but Lucas says the only thing that matters is that they’re together. Doug makes a toast to the family and plays the piano as Chloe sings “Silent Night.”

With the music playing, the camera pans to Chloe’s broken ornament, to Daniel alone on Christmas, and to an emotional Nicole praying at the DiMera mansion. She cries and prays for help as EJ overhears. Meanwhile, Marlena wonders where John is as he is shown in front of the pub. John calls Dr. Taylor to tell her that it’s Christmas and all he wants is to remember his life and who he is!
