Sami drugs Hilda, Nicole is arrested and Abe and Lexi have their interview.

Hilda gives Sami safe house rules, much to Sami's annoyance. Hilda tells her she's already pushed one guard to leave within 24 hours. She starts watching television and cooking, which causes Sami to become more annoyed. Hilda yells at the television while telling Sami to keep quiet. Hilda tells Sami she's sure she'll never be left alone, knowing that she complained Darryl left her alone. Sami sarcastically tells Hilda that's great news. When Sami goes to shower, Hilda tells her to keep the door open. That gets eye-rolling from Sami, but Hilda needs to be able to see Sami at all times! After Sami's shower, Hilda prepares for bed. She has on a crazy blue facemask, and tells Sami she snores loudly. It's only seven at night, but Hilda tells her it's bedtime! "My safe house, my rules," she tells self-professed night owl Sami. The doorbell rings and Hilda takes out a gun, but it's only a trick-or-treater. Hilda gives him raisons, much to his chagrin and tells him to get word out to his friends not to bother coming to their door. Sami realizes it's Hallowe'en and that she'll miss taking her kids out for the first time. Hilda says she too has kids and whips out photos of Ingalou, Roland and Gunter and tells Sami the story of how their father used to chase other women. She drones on about the kids and their father and how he used to bowl gutter balls. Bored Sami goes into Hilda's suitcase, quietly, looking for earplugs, but instead finds sleeping pills. "Even better," she whispers. Hilda discusses her toy train hobby as Sami crushes the pills into Hilda's tea. Soon, Hilda drinks it down, calling it 'Abc delicious'! She feels sleepy right off the bat and thinks she should call the doctor, worrying she may not be able to watch over Sami, but she soon falls asleep. Meanwhile, a strange man comes to the door.

Hope and Bo continue to confront Nicole about Trent's murder, at the mansion, but Nicole maintains her innocence. Hope shows her a torn marriage certificate with her prints on them. Nicole points out that of course there would be prints on the certificate, because she signed it all those years ago, and admits she didn't want anyone to know she and Trent were married. She actually thought they were divorced all these years, until Trent showed up! EJ tries to tell Nicole not to give too much information to the cops but Nicole has nothing to hide. Later, she finally says she did argue with Trent on the night of his murder but that's no crime. She asks them to leave, but Hope and Bo have something incriminating to show her. Bo starts browbeating Nicole and telling EJ about how she tries to kill all of her lovers including Colin and Victor. Nicole tells him, "Shut up," so he reads a note from Trent. "If I happen to turn up dead, you'll know that my dear wife has finally acted on all her threats." They show her a search warrant and search her clothing. Nicole tells them to get their greasy mitts off her clothes. They cost more than what Hope makes in a year! Once the search is over, Bo tells Nicole that she's coming downtown! They found a dress with a missing bead on it and think it's a match to the bead they found in the cemetery. Nicole flashes back to that fatal night when she told Trent to give her the marriage certificate. Once Trent did, Nicole shredded it to pieces and threw it to the ground. Nicole admits to arguing with Trent and threatening him but that's all. She asks EJ if he believes her. Later, she says she only returned to the cemetery to get the pieces of the marriage certificate. EJ tells her not to say another word and Bo arrests her. She flashes back to Trent struggling with her. EJ tells Bo she's pregnant, but all Bo has to say to that is that the baby will be born in prison.

Kate paints her fingernails as Daniel looks over her chart. She recalls the first time she painted them and how sophisticated she felt. Daniel says she has another half hour of Chemo. Kate's tired, so Daniel leaves her. Kate reads and a nurse interrupts.
Outside her room, Chloe and Lucas arrive and Lucas has questions for Daniel. He wonders what Kate's odds are at beating this. He knows that it depends on early detection and how the patient responds to treatment. Daniel agrees that's true but isn't sure about her odds. There are too many variables, he tells Lucas and Chloe, but admits the odds aren't good, but Kate has a lot to live for and is going through an aggressive treatment. "It's her best chance to survive," he says and invites Lucas to call him anytime to discuss it. Chloe supports Lucas and thinks Kate will get through this. They hug, and when the nurse leaves Kate's room, Lucas goes in alone, to see her.
In her room, Kate continues to read until Lucas arrives. She welcomes him to the penthouse and laughs. She says it's feeling like a mini-vacation, but Lucas thinks she's trying to prove how strong she is. He asks her to use her energy to fight. He returns to Chloe and asks if she'd talk to his mother about fighting cancer while he goes to the gift shop to get her a present. Chloe's skeptical that Kate will want to see her but agrees to it. She goes inside, but Kate tells her to get out! Chloe cares for Lucas and knows she means a lot to him. She was happy to come in here, she says. Kate apologizes for being so rude and admits she cares more about her kids than herself, probably. Since her illness will be the hardest on Lucas, she'd like to call a truce. She still hasn't forgiven her for breaking Philip's heart. Chloe says that's fine and once she leaves, she stands outside Kate's door, taking deep breaths. Daniel comes upon her. "Are you alright?" She confesses she's a cancer survivor and still takes anti-rejection drugs. She still feels she's on borrowed time. Lucas arrives and they're set to take Allie out trick-or-treating. They plan to take photos for Kate. Daniel asks if they'll return tomorrow and give Kate time to rest this evening. Chloe thanks Daniel for the talk and they leave.
Daniel goes to Kate with the magazine Lucas purchased for her and lies on her bed and visits.

Lexi and Theo arrive back at Java Café, and much to Abe's delight, Theo came, happily. Mona Roy arrives. She's from The Spectator and will be writing their article. "Aren't you cuter than two tigers and a ball of twine," she says to a shy Theo. Eventually, Theo runs to Mona with a hug, surprising all! Mona comments on his affection and admits she did research on Autistic children. She has an autistic child, herself, and Lexi's hoping that Mona will be able to define Theo as a child with Autism, not an Autistic child. They discuss how overwhelming it can be and how it can interfere with their day-to-day life. Off the record, Mona thinks it's important for a mayor to understand the average issues of people. Theo suddenly yells, "High score, high score!" He jumps into Abe's lap. Mona asks if it's all right to ask Theo questions. She asks what his favorite food is and he starts to dance around. Lexi explains he has food aversions and apologizes. Mona apologizes and leaves and Abe gets Theo's attention, finally, and holds his hand.
