Lucas gives Chloe a massage as she moans about how Sami drives her crazy. "She's pregnant again? When is that woman not pregnant," she asks and continues a long rant about Sami, until Lucas asks her to stop. "It's boring, okay? It's the same old thing." He wants to enjoy their evening. Chloe apologizes and they get romantic. After they make love, they bask in the afterglow, and Lucas tells Chloe how talented, smart and beautiful she is. Chloe's lucky she found him, and they start kissing. "You really are a keeper," he says, and Chloe asks him not to forget it!

Sami continues to help the sketch artist with her recollections of the shooter, when Marlena arrives at Roman's office to support her. Sami cries to Marlena as she tells her story. She hopes the mayor didn't suffer. Marlena comments that she's sure his wife and family is suffering terribly. Sami wonders who would want to kill Marino?

Lexi and Tony arrive at the pub, with Lexi fretting over Abe. Tony asks what's going on and Lexi says she has a part in Marino's death. She shares what happened between she and Stefano. Tony finds her ultimatum reasonable, but Lexi thinks her ultimatum resulted in murder. Tony knows Stefano can be ruthless, but she can't automatically assume he killed Marino. Lexi admits he did deny it, and Tony points out that Stefano wouldn't have the man murdered outside his own door! Lexi still has a gut feeling that Stefano committed the crime - for her.

Meanwhile, the killer tells somebody on the phone not to worry. By the end of the night, Samantha Brady will be dead.

John finds Nicole doubled over, in pain, on the DiMera settee. "Oh no, you're having your baby." He wants to call an ambulance but she lies that she's having a little pain in her side. Nicole tells him she can't complain to EJ, or he'll call her out on attention seeking. John promises to keep quiet about her episode.

Outside the great room, Stefano tells the person on the line, "How could you let this happen?" He tells the person that excuses are for cowards and starts yelling, until EJ finds him and Stefano hangs up. EJ yells that his child could have been home, and there was a dead person on his doorstep. He tells Stefano that Nicole doesn't need any more stress. Stefano promises not to give her any. John comes out of the great room while EJ goes in to see Nicole, and John tells Stefano that his patience is wearing thin. He knows about the hit on Marino and that he's behind it! "You are hissing at the wrong jaguar, John," Stefano says, but John threatens Stefano that if Samantha is hurt, he'll come after him. Stefano laughs in John's face and John repeats his threat.

Daniel comes out of the Kiriakis pool, dripping wet and unexpectedly comes face to face with Philip, who yells that this is his house and asks why he's always hanging around. Daniel asks if there's something he wants to get off his chest. Philip hits Daniel and lays him out flat! Later, when Daniel gets up, Philip admits he is angered because he knows that Daniel had sex with Kate right there, poolside! Daniel refuses to discuss this with Philip and asks if he ever thinks of what makes Kate happy. He thinks that he makes Kate happy, and tells Philip he's a vindictive little bastard and won't take anymore of his bull! Philip doesn't hear him and tells Daniel to stay away from his mother, but Daniel says he cares about Kate. He calls her generous, smart and she makes him feel good about himself. "We need each other right now," he finishes. Philip says, "I'm out of it. For her sake."

Later, in Roman's office, Marlena asks Sami to pack up the twins to stay with her for a while. Sami smiles, but reminds her of the toys and crying in the middle of the night... she refuses the offer. "I'm staying with Lucas at the cabin." Marlena is surprised. "On the island?" Sami nods and Marlena points out that Chloe's there. Sami will eventually talk to her and promises not to turn the cabin into a war zone. Marlena asks her straight out, as to why she's spending so much time with Lucas, but she doesn't answer. John interrupts and he too offers Sami to stay with him at the Salem Inn, temporarily. Sami turns him down and leaves. John asks if everything is okay, but Marlena, who's in a bad mood, says she's certain Sami is in trouble. She's been secretive. John asks how she's been doing and asks why she hasn't filed the divorce papers. "What's the hold up," he asks, and Marlena admits she's not sure.

Sami goes out of Roman's office to call Lucas, but he's busy making love to Chloe! She calls again and Sami yells at him for ignoring the phone. She asks him to come get her at the police station. She tells him she came face to face with a hit man and Lucas panics. He tells Chloe he has to get Sami, even though she's upset.

Later, Abe comes out of the pub and tells the two that they're having a press conference, after they discussed the murder of the mayor. Stefano watches from nearby as Abe asks Tony and Lexi to come into the pub to lend support. Stefano grins as the three go into the pub.

Inside the pub, Abe makes a statement about Marino's death, and reporters ask Lexi if it's true that her father made considerable contributions to the mayor's campaign and if Abe did. Abe tells them he can't speak for Marino, but he hasn't and won't. Tony and Lexi whisper about Stefano, nearby, after the conference is over and Abe finds them and wants to know what's up. Lexi wonders if the killer has plans to take out somebody else, not just Marino.

EJ spoon feeds Nicole ice cream in the great room of the mansion and she grins at how he's being so lovely with her. He apologizes for the delay, but he bumped into Stefano, who promised to try to keep the stress levels down for Nicole. Nicole picks out names for the baby. Henry, George or Christopher. EJ likes Henry or Christopher, and before they get to discuss female names, Nicole doubles over again, in pain. EJ worries it's the baby, and tries to call the hospital, but she refuses him and brushes off the pain as a leg cramp. He worries and turns her down for a walk, stating he has to work for a bit. Nicole kisses him and promises to call if she needs him. After he leaves, Nicole's pain continues.

Sami and Lucas arrive at the cabin and Chloe comments on Sami's pregnancy. Sami's upset that Lucas told Chloe, but Chloe promises not to tell anyone. Frustrated Chloe, leaves to see a friend, and Sami and Lucas argue, with Sami telling Lucas all about the murder.

Outside the cabin, the shooter prepares his gun.

EJ arrives at the cabin as Lucas and Sami are arguing. EJ asks if she wants to talk about the shooting but Sami refuses, and wants him to leave, but he won't.

Outside, the shooter takes aim at Sami. EJ gets in the way. The killer takes aim again and shoots, but EJ pulls Sami away in the nick of time. "Get down!"

Chloe arrives at the DiMera mansion and Nicole says, "Thank you Lord!" Nicole needed to see her. She worries about her hold on EJ. "It may be tenuous at best." Chloe is sure she's over thinking it, but Nicole reminds her of Sami. "Ugh, I'm so sick of hearing her name." They're both sick of her and Chloe tells Nicole there is something that she should know about Sami.

Melanie seductively tells Philip, "I am willing to buy your silence." Philip says he doesn't need money but Melanie lets it be known that she's not discussing money!

Max tells Bo, "She did not commit that murder!" Bo asks, "And you know this for a fact?"

Hope says, "Max refuses." Stephanie sadly tells her she has lost Max forever.
