Stephanie wonders if Max killed Trent, EJ sorts out his feelings about Nicole's pregnancy and Melanie opens up to Philip.

In his room, Max tells Stephanie he found Trent's wallet in her purse. She's surprised and confused. "It doesn't make sense," she says and he asks how it ended up there. She tells him she just switched purses today. It wasn't there this morning. The only time her purse wasn't with her was at the pub and at the police station. She says. "Melanie was there." Max stands up for Melanie. "She's not capable of that." Stephanie retorts, "You thought I was!" Max says he was confused and wants to think Melanie is a decent person. Stephanie understands that but thinks Melanie manipulates him. Max asks her to lay off his sister, but she can't. She doesn't want to see him hurt. Melanie's history speaks for itself. She reminds him that he went to jail because Melanie stole jewelry in France, and Max realizes that Stephanie may be right. They wonder why Melanie had the wallet and Stephanie quietly says, "Max, I think Melanie killed your father." Max refuses to believe it, so Stephanie assumes he killed Trent himself!

Philip and Melanie arrive at the crime scene to discuss why she had Trent's wallet. Melanie says he threw it at her during a heated exchange. Philip doesn't believe her and threatens to go to Bo, so Melanie blurts out that he gave it to her the night he was murdered. She tells him about Claude and how Trent used to prostitute her out to cover gambling debts and then flashes back to the night of the murder. She tells Philip she turned around and ran away from him and never looked back, that night, but Philip doesn't believe her. She decides to tell him more, and flashes back to holding the knife the night Trent died. Philip is concerned. "You pulled a knife on him?" Melanie knows what he's thinking, but she didn't kill Trent. Philip says he's cynical than most and knows that her coming to him for help could have been to call attention away from her. Philip likes her, he says. He's not sure why, but he does and she needs to come clean with whatever happened at the cemetery. He asks if she killed her father and she remembers more of the struggle for the knife but admits…"I don't know!"

At the hospital, Marlena receives a piece of mail stating that John has yet to sign the divorce papers. John shows up and wants to know why she didn't return his calls. She had nothing more to say, so he confronts her about talking with EJ. John says Elvis accused him of being heartless and wants to know if she feels the same. She admits she tried to find the old John inside him but is running out of hope. She calls him a stranger. They go through the same argument. John has been trying to impress her, but he's not loving, kind and selfless, she points out. "It was in his nature." She asks if he can be that kind of man and he says, "No, but I'm trying."

EJ doesn't know what to say when Nicole tells him she's pregnant. John leaves them alone, while Sami paces in the hallway, shocked. Nicole asks, "How do you feel, happy, sad, angry, none of the above?" When he doesn't respond, clearly in shock, she drones on. "I need to know. I have the right to know." EJ didn't know it was possible, but Nicole points out that it only takes one time. EJ wants to know why she didn't tell him sooner. It happened months ago. Nicole tells him she predicted he'd make her feel like a fool for being happy about it, when he's obviously not. Sami bursts into the room and tells EJ that Nicole's lying. EJ berates Sami for spying and Sami asks if EJ wants to end up in the poor house with Nicole. She tells him Nicole is barren. Nicole admits that is true, but she's not lying about this. In spite of what she was told, she recently saw a doctor who informed her she was pregnant. Nicole looks at it as a miracle. Sami calls this very Jerry Springer, and Nicole gets upset and says she's leaving. When Nicole thinks she feels a kick, Sami pulls her shirt up and is shocked to find Nicole is showing! EJ tells Sami to leave them alone, and EJ tells Nicole that he doesn't know how to feel right now. He kneels in front of her and says, "So it's true. You're carrying my child." He wants to know what now, and Nicole says they make plans and celebrate. This is a lot for EJ to take in. Nicole knows. She has adjusted to it, and says she wanted to be a mother ever since she was a child. She was jealous upon seeing other moms. EJ laughs, and says she has no need to be jealous now. Nicole feels like she's getting a second chance and doesn't want to mess it up. EJ holds her hand and smiles. He knows she won't. He tells her she has given him a lot to think about. When she asks if he is happy she's pregnant, he says, "Yes, I am, but Nicole, I am going to need some proof that this child is mine." Nicole appears offended.

Kate goes on a spending spree, and while she's in the dressing room, Chelsea finds her. She tells Kate that Daniel told her that she went missing and asked her to go looking for her. She says Daniel told her that this was a matter of life and death, but Kate says it must have been a misunderstanding. Chelsea tells her that after today, she doesn't want to see her. Kate gets a text message from Daniel, telling her there is news on the biopsy. She sighs and tells Chelsea that a recent cough has forced her to have tests. Chelsea calls herself selfish. Kate is glad she's there and wants to discuss things and put it to rest, but Chelsea can't. She can't forgive or forget that it happened initially. Kate has had it with Chelsea's self-pity, anger and resentment. She has been forgiven many times, but yet she is cruel, punishing and continues to judge her. She tells Chelsea that what she did with Daniel wasn't wrong. The sooner Chelsea deals with that the better off she'll be. "Life is too short," she says, and Chelsea would like to get over this but she can't.

John tells Marlena about Nicole's pregnancy and that Elvis is the father. Marlena is shocked and asks why Nicole confided in him. "She trusts me," he says, but when Marlena asks why he told her, he asks if that was wrong. She promises to keep it confidential and he explains that Nicole trusts her. He grins and thinks that she and EJ are probably out picking out items for the baby, now. Marlena is shocked and smiles. "You did the right thing!" Sami runs up to them and interrupts John asking Marlena on a date. "Mom, I need to talk to you!" John tells her he'll call her, and leaves, while Marlena calms Sami down. She tells Marlena about Nicole being pregnant with EJ's baby, but Marlena already knows and wonders why this is so upsetting to her. Sami thinks Nicole will trap EJ, and is after him for his money. Marlena reminds Sami that she of all people knows how tough it is to be the mother of a DiMera heir. She can't see why Nicole would lie. Sami asks if Marlena's happy that Nicole's pregnant. She laughs. She's not, but she is happy that it's Sami who isn't pregnant!

Next on Days Of Our Lives:
Lucas tells Sami, "Alright, so you're not going to tell your parents. You're not gonna tell the baby's father. You want to lose EJ to Nicole?"
Nicole tells EJ, "This baby is a new beginning to me. All you care about is yourself and how it affects your life."
Max yells at Stephanie, "Then you accused me of being the murderer. So which is it? Is it me? Is it my sister? You've gotta make up your mind!"
