It's Too Early for This Kind Of Drama! Monday, October 06 2008

Sami finds her son in a cemetery, Chelsea learns something disturbing, and Kayla advises Marlena.

At the pub, Philip tries to call Morgan to apologize, but only gets voice mail. He says he hopes she's alright. Max and Stephanie are nearby discussing Caroline being released from jail. Melanie comes over and asks if that's true. Stephanie accuses her of believing that Caroline is guilty, but Philip intervenes, telling them that Melanie actually asked him to help find the real killer! Stephanie says that's surprising - Melanie doesn't usually have a problem with innocent people being behind bars! When Philip walks away, Melanie squeals that he's so hot! Chelsea walks in and goes up to Philip, giving him a punch on the arm! She says she's been up all night talking to a very upset Morgan! He brings up the issue with his mother and Daniel and asks Chelsea to go easy on her right now. Chelsea asks, "Is she that sick?" Philip says he can't give her details without betraying Kate's trust. He tells Chelsea that she can't go see her - she has to keep this to herself! Chelsea asks, "Is she going to die?" Philip just says that his mother is a fighter. Chelsea worries about having been mean to Kate, but Philip says, "You didn't know." When Philip goes to make a phone call, Chelsea walks over to Stephanie and blurts, "My grandmother's really sick and it's serious."

As EJ sits outside the pub making phone calls, worried because Sami didn't come home last night, Sami moves slightly in the bed with Lucas. She is dreaming that he's EJ, and they kiss! When she awakens fully, she gasps. "What are you doing? You're kissing me!" Lucas says it's too early for this kind of drama. He reminds her that all they did was talk last night before she passed out on the couch. She asks why she's in his shirt then. He admits that he changed her, so she'd be comfortable. "It's not like I haven't seen the goods before!" Talk turns more serious, and Lucas urges Sami to tell EJ that she's pregnant with his child. She tells Lucas that she has to find out where EJ stands with Nicole first. Lucas says she'd better tell him soon - she's starting to 'show'!

At the hospital, Kayla urges Marlena not to give up on John - he needs her right now! Marlena says she's waited long enough for her miracle - she needs to move on with her own life! Kayla says she thinks she is making a mistake. Kayla notes that she cares about both of them. Marlena says that what's best for them is a divorce. Kayla urges her to stand by him and make sure he gets the care he needs! She points out that John's condition could be fatal. Marlena says she'll talk to John about getting medical care. Kayla muses that he probably won't listen to her once she gives him the divorce papers! Kayla then thinks twice - perhaps if she gives him the divorce papers, he'll work extra hard to win her back, maybe he'd even agree to seek medical care! Marlena smiles, but says she won't be going that route.

At the DiMera Mansion, Stefano reads about the family legacy to Johnny. John comes in and notes that he must be pretty desperate to be recruiting them that young! He suggests that Stefano give up trying to run the DiMera interests, and keep reading bedtime stories. As Stefano is making a retort, John suddenly starts to have another brain episode! Stefano asks if he's still getting those nasty headaches - maybe they'd go away if he moves out! John tells him he's fine, he just needs some champagne. When he leaves the room, Stefano says to Johnny that they both know it's going to take more than alcohol to fix what's wrong with him! Suddenly, EJ storms in and confronts Stefano. "Where's Samantha?" Stefano gives him his 'word' that he has no idea where she is. "How do you know she's disappeared?" EJ replies that her bed wasn't slept in, and she was acting strangely the day before. EJ says he has a meeting and Stefano offers to babysit Johnny. EJ says it's not going to happen - he'll take the baby with him. Stefano presses him to leave Johnny there - he's napping anyway. EJ sighs. "I don't like this one bit. If you have any problems or Samantha appears, you call me!" Stefano agrees and EJ leaves.

Max and Melanie have moved outside the pub so he can talk to her privately. He warns her against having anything to do with Philip Kiriakis - he's into some shady business. They argue about whether she should stay in town, and Max tells her that she's his sister and he cares about her! As they continue to talk, Philip comes out and asks to speak to Melanie. Max plays the big brother routine, but goes back inside. They discuss Trent, and Melanie tells Philip that she has checked some things out and apparently everyone hated her father. Philip says he didn't want to say anything in front of Max, but he's found out some pretty bad stuff about Trent. She says she knows what he's capable of, and Philip says it sounds like she doesn't miss him. Melanie admits she's glad he's dead! She says she knows it sounds awful, but Philip tells her it's okay, but she says she feels guilty for wishing Trent was dead. He promises to let her know if he finds out anything more about her father's murder. A flustered Melanie thanks him and drops her purse, including Trent's black book she had inside - Philip hands it back to her.

As Sami prepares to leave the cabin, wishing Lucas a good day with Allie, her phone rings. "I have service again! It's EJ." She answers and tells him that she needed to clear her head away from the mansion, and that they need to meet and talk!

At the mansion, John makes a phone call to someone and notes wryly that, yes, it is a miracle that his brother is back! When he gets off the phone, the doorbell rings. John swings off the doorjamb as the head pain returns. When it fades, he answers the door - it's Marlena! She has the divorce papers, and John tells her that he thought maybe she had changed her mind. She says she hasn't - especially if he doesn't even care enough to go to the hospital and look after himself. "Why should I stick around?" He tells her he's not letting her give up on their marriage. She says it's too late. John replies, "No. It's not." He then pulls her into a passionate kiss!

Johnny has awoken from his nap and Stefano has him in his stroller at the cemetery - to educate him about his ancestors. Suddenly, Stefano takes a call in which the caller informs him that John is polling board members to see what they think of appointing a new CEO. When he hangs up, Sami appears in the park, "What the hell are you doing with my son!" Stefano tells Sami that Elvis asked him to babysit, and she is in disbelief. "He knows how I feel!" Stefano says that it's important for him to spend time with Johnny. "One day my grandchildren will carry on my legacy!" Sami's eyes widen and she places her hand on her belly! She tells Stefano he'll have nothing to do with her children. Suddenly her phone rings. It's EJ wondering where she is! She tells him she would have been there, but she came across his father taking Johnny for a stroll through the cemetery. EJ tells her not to fly off the handle. She hangs up and turns back to Stefano, who tells her not to be angry, he doesn't want to cause trouble between her and Elvis - they belong together! Sami leaves with Johnny and Stefano makes a call. "I've decided to let John have his audience with the Board - they'll see how competent he really is!"

Inside the pub, Chelsea tells Stephanie how awful she feels about Kate - now she's angry that she can't be angry at her, even though she betrayed her trust. She places a call to Daniel asking him to call her back - she needs to talk to him! Kayla comes in and greets Max, telling him she is really glad he decided not to give up on his sister! She urges him to be patient with her, and he says he looks forward to getting to know the real Melanie now that she isn't under the influence of Trent.

At Chez Rouge, EJ continue to wait on Sami. Lucas arrives. "EJ. Did you talk to Sami?" EJ says he did - that Sami is always full of surprises. Lucas replies, "That's Sami. So, you were cool with it when she told you?" EJ asks, "When she told me what?" Lucas sighs. Meanwhile, Sami sits at the cabin with Johnny, talking to herself. "Sorry for ditching you EJ, but I can't deal with you right now, I think Stefano knows I'm pregnant."

Marlena tells John that she wants her husband back. "Do you think you could be that person?"

Sami tells Lucas she has to find some way to protect her children from Stefano!

Nicole asks EJ to decide who he wants to build a life with - Sami or her!
