Victor visits Caroline, Melanie asks for help from Philip and Sami finds out she is pregnant.

Outside the pub, Nicole reminisces about her pregnancy news and flashes back to years ago, during her marriage to Victor, when a doctor told her that she can't have children on her own.
Maggie meets EJ at Chez Rouge. They discuss Caroline and don’t believe she killed Trent. EJ has a meeting and is annoyed that the person he's meeting isn't there yet. He cancelled the zoo with Johnny for this. He finds Philip at a table and they discuss Victor and Nicole's case. They disagree about whether or not Nicole is entitled to the money from Victor. EJ tells Philip that Nicole was the victim of deception. She didn’t know Trent didn't file for divorce, and Nicole and Victor lived together in good faith. "If Daddy Warbucks thinks he can have his way and wander off into the night…" Philip stops him. "Nobody double crosses Victor."

Lucas wakes Sami up. She had fainted on the sofa at the DiMera mansion. She's confused. He asks if she's alright and says they returned for Allie's bear. He asks what happened. "Grandma," she says. She has to go to the station. Lucas asks her to relax. She just fainted. Sami panics. Lucas lifts her up and tells her he's taking her to a doctor.

Victor tries to see Caroline at Salem PD. He's not able to and when Kayla arrives, she tells him that his help is the last thing Caroline needs right now. He only wants to help her, he says. Kayla knows he cares for her but the DA has it out for her and he doesn't need more ammunition. Victor is appalled. He's never done anything to hurt her, intentionally, and doesn't intend to start now. He leaves and Steve arrives. She explains what happened. She doesn't trust Victor. Neither does Steve, but he feels Victor has Caroline's best interest at heart.

Caroline paces her cell until Bo arrives. She's stir crazy, she admits and asks when they'll let her out. "I'm sorry, Ma. They're not." She's surprised, but he tells her that they've other suspects, but since she was found holding the murder weapon with the dead body, it looks bad. She understands. "That doesn't mean this is over," Bo says. They'll try to find a print on the knife that doesn't belong to her. She worries what will happen if they don't find any other fingerprints on the knife. Bo says they'll find another way out. Caroline worries he'll tamper with evidence. If he does, she'll turn him in herself. She refuses to let him throw away his career for her. She is innocent. An officer comes to tell Bo that someone is there to visit. He says Bo will allow it. Victor arrives. Bo allows five minutes with her and he tells her that he'll call Jean Briscoe, a good lawyer. She has Mickey, and doesn't want him to do anything. She recalls the Philip and Paul Hollingsworth mess and asks him to have faith in the justice system. He reminds her that she was found holding the murder weapon, and in the eyes of the DA, it's a slam dunk! Caroline still thinks the justice system will come through, but Victor tells her he's going to fix this. There' s nothing anyone can do about it! Caroline doesn't want him to do anything, but being here for her means so much. Victor tells her he never stopped caring about her and never will. He pleads with her to trust him but she's not sure she can. She tells him she cares for him still and asks him to let her handle it this way. Victor asks if she's going to put her faith in God. "He's never let me down," she says, and hopes she can say the same about him. Victor agrees to allow the law to handle this and promises he'll be there for her. Caroline calls him a wonderful man and friend and they share a laugh before he leaves.

Melanie sits at Chez Rouge bar and mumbles that she didn't kill Trent but will find out who did. She overhears Maggie telling a waiter to take extra care of the Kiriakis table, as they're one of their best clients. She needs to take care of her granddaughter .The two discuss how powerful they are and the waiter jokes, that they know where all the bodies are buried, and Maggie interjects, "And how they got there?" She goes to Philip and thinks he's Victor. He explains he's Victor's son and she tells him she needs help in tracking down a killer. She tells him her story and asks if Victor could help her. She heard their family is powerful. Philip is sorry for her loss but they're not private investigators. "Good luck with your search," he says and leaves.

Philip meets with some businessmen and EJ leaves, bumping into Nicole on his way out. He stops her. There's something she has to tell him and asks if he has a few minutes. He does, since his client is late, and she tells him she's pregnant. EJ's shocked. "You're pregnant, are you sure?" He tells her he believes in love and she has made him the happiest man in the world. They kiss passionately, and Nicole shakes herself awake from her daydream. She's about to tell him when his cell phone rings. His client cancelled, and he's upset, because he cancelled his day at the zoo with Johnny. Nicole reminds him he has the whole afternoon to take Johnny there. It's not too late! EJ realizes she's right and when he asks what it was she wanted to tell him, she prefers to wait. He asks for lunch tomorrow and Nicole asks for dinner tomorrow. EJ kisses her and asks her to come to the mansion for dinner. Just the two of them! He'll have the chef prepare something special! He's curious as to what this is about but she refuses to give hints. "Prepare for a big surprise," she says.

Sami is examined by a doctor, but tries to tell him she's fine. Lucas arrives and tells her he dropped Allie with Maggie. Sami feels much better, but admits she only had fruit today. The doctor tells her she needs to have some tests run, but Sami thinks she fainted because she's upset that her grandmother is in jail. They discuss how they have hurt each other and Lucas says some things are not meant to be. They both thought that they were and Sami says she's not sure what went wrong. Lucas says, "It wasn't a what, but a who!" Sami frets about getting a simple blood test, so Lucas holds her hand. He calms her down when she starts panicking about Caroline being in jail, and refuses to leave until the doctor returns. Sami asks if it'll be okay with Chloe, and he says he already told Chloe they'd hook up later. He admits he's not sure their relationship will work, considering she's probably going back to work soon. Sami admits she's jealous and asks if she's going to Austria or Vegas, but Lucas doesn't want to talk about her. Sami thinks Chloe's wrong for him. Lucas points out he feels the same about her and EJ, but she says she and EJ are just friends. "I'm taking control of my life. That means no EJ, now or ever." Lucas is proud of her. He finds her strong and resourceful. Sami needs to be her own person, someone her kids can be proud of. The doctor returns. He tells her she's pregnant.
Kayla worries about how vulnerable Caroline is, but Steve knows that the police are looking closely at Melanie and Nicole. Kayla is shocked but he explains that she is married to Trent. Bo arrives and tells them they've no evidence for Nicole. Bo gets a document from the lab. It doesn't tell them much but they've got more tests on the way. Kayla is upset that Bo has allowed Victor to visit Caroline. She worries he wants her back. Bo tells Kayla they're past all that, but Kayla thinks Victor has always cared for Ma. She takes a moment to call Kimberly to share the news about Caroline, and afterward, they learn that Caroline's fingerprints are the only ones on the knife! The DA's office tells Bo that Caroline will be arraigned and charges with Trent's murder. Victor has come up from the jail cell after talking with Caroline and overhears Bo. He doesn't look too happy.

Bo goes to Caroline to tell her the news, and she asks what this means. Kayla tells her that the DA feels they've enough evidence to charge her. She'll have to stand trial for murder.
