Two Sides To a Story! Thursday, August 28 2008

Steve tells Caroline all about his new job, Chelsea is still in shock after learning Kate and Daniel had sex and Max and Melanie get out of jail!

Caroline makes coffee for Steve, and they discuss how Kayla is taking time off to be with baby Joe. She asks if the police have found Stefano yet. "No," he tells her. He plugs away on the computer while he talks and shares that he's creating a new website, and starting his own Private Investigation business! He doesn't have too many marketable skills. "No radio market for the blues harmonica!" Caroline congratulates him but worries about the danger. Steve promises there will be none and he's excited, since he has been doing freelance work for Salem PD. Now Kayla can cut back on her hours. They discuss middle of the night feedings and Caroline thinks Steve's a terrific father. They discuss Max. She hasn't heard from him much. Caroline assumes both kids are busy. She hopes he found his sister and that all is well.

Trent finds Steve at the pub and was sent to him by his friend Scott Pearson. He needs help finding a colleague of his. Steve asks a few fact finding questions and Trent asks him to find Nick Fallon. He lies that Nick left town without a leave of absence. Steve knows Nick, he admits. Trent lies that Nick's in the middle of grant work and it's not like him to leave without proper notice or ignore his phone calls. He thinks he's in Europe. Steve appears suspicious but takes the job. He gets $250 per day, plus expenses. He takes a check from Trent, "As long as I can't play handball with it!" Trent says his friend Scott mentioned that Steve had a daughter, Stephanie. Steve looks suspicious, once again. Steve tells Trent that he doesn't want his daughter dating Max. Trent fishes for more information. "I haven't seen them either. Are they away, too?" Steve asks, "Too?" Trent figures since they're friends, they may know where Nick is. He leaves Steve with a business card and Caroline comes by. "What did he want," she says, angrily. Steve tells her what happened and Steve plans on keeping an eye on Trent. He's sure that Trent is dying to find out if Max found Melanie.

Melanie gives Max candy bars for he and Stephanie, albeit reluctantly. She doesn't like Stephanie. Max tells her the feeling is mutual. She admits she thinks Nick is cute. They discuss Tiffany making bail for Max, but Melanie isn't sure she's going to come through. He threatens to call Trent. She said she'd help him. Max thinks Stephanie is right. Melanie is selfish. Melanie cares about George and her dad. "At least somebody does," he says. Melanie realizes that something is up. Tiffany arrives and Melanie asks her to get her brother out of jail! Melanie doesn't want to apologize for stealing her bracelet and blames it on Max, the race car driver, who wants to make it up to her, over dinner! But since Max is still in jail, Tiffany decides to drop charges. Melanie tells Tiffany that Stephanie is Max's cousin, so she agrees to drop charges. Her condition is dinner - alone, with her! Stephanie is jealous but Max tells her if they do this, they can go home! She agrees to it and they're let out of the cell. Sebastian gives Stephanie her handbag and Melanie jokes that Tiffany and Max make a good couple!

Nick gets a call from Trent, while he's at the bistro in Marseilles. Trent asks why he backed out of their meeting. Nick had a family emergency. He'll be back in a few weeks. Trent asks if he can overnight a few documents about Nick's prototype to him. Nick grimaces. "That's not necessary." He gets out of giving away his whereabouts by telling Trent that the owner of the restaurant he is in is giving him dirty looks for being on his cell phone. He hangs up, leaving Trent frustrated! Trent calls Melanie, from outside the pub. He leaves a message for her to call him as soon as possible. He then talks to someone about Max finding Melanie. It's a disaster, but he's taking care of it.

Daniel tells Chelsea that he and Kate are over. Kate apologizes to Chelsea, and Daniel tries to touch her. She pushes him away, and they're interrupted by Theo, who runs into Chelsea's arms. Lexi runs after him, calling his name. Close to tears, she asks him not to run away from her like that again. Chelsea tells Lexi it's okay. Since Theo has an appointment today, Chelsea offers to take him. Kate tries to interject, and when Theo cries for his mother, Lexi apologizes. Theo is having a bad day today. They leave and Chelsea asks why Kate had sex with her boyfriend. Daniel admits it was a fling. Chelsea doesn't feel better but Daniel says it happened well before they got together. Chelsea doesn't know why they didn't tell her sooner. Chelsea can't talk to them right now.

Lexi finds Daniel at the nurse's station, later. She asks what's going on. He admits he and Chelsea had a bump in the road but he doesn't want to discuss it. She reminds him that she confided in him. He tells her he slept with Kate a while ago, and Chelsea just found out. He's sure he screwed up the best thing that has happened to him in a long time. Lexi's surprised. "Glad you asked," he says sarcastically. It happened when Chelsea was his patient, and he blamed himself for the infection causing Chelsea's sterility. Lexi knows it was not his fault. He says when he found out, he got hammered and Kate just happened along. Lexi thinks Chelsea needs time to calm down. Later, Daniel and Kate commiserate, and Lexi and Chelsea discuss work and how much Chelsea loves what she does. Lexi asks if everything is alright but Chelsea doesn't want to talk. Lexi has advice. "There are always two sides to a story and you owe it to yourself to hear both sides." Later, Chelsea finds Kate and Daniel and tells them after her shift, they all need to talk.

At the bistro, Nick and Stephanie dine while Max and Tiffany have dinner nearby. Nick tries to find something funny about the situation. They start to giggle and Stephanie keeps her eye on Max. Nick is about to tell Stephanie that Trent called, but Melanie interrupts. Stephanie leaves them alone and Melanie thanks Nick for convincing her to call Tiffany.

Tiffany tells Max she won't jump him in front of his girlfriend! Max is surprised she knew. She was having a little fun and says it's good for her reputation to be seen with him. She was on the way to drop the charges and apologizes for the mess. Tiffany tells Max how she met Melanie. "She is worse than bad. She is horrible!" Max says he didn’t know. They just met. She tells him to run, and then tells him she wants to kiss him. Max isn't interested but she does so anyway. They kiss for a while and Stephanie notices. She gets miffed as Max tries to push Tiffany away. She tells Steve she's on her way home, and when she arrives back at the table, Tiffany leaves. Max is the only girl he wants to kiss. She wipes off his lips and they start making out.

Stephanie calls Steve and says a sorority sister let her know about the lock down. She was worried. Things are fine, Steve reassures her and he tells her about Trent searching for them.
