Nicole's Film Noir fantasy continues and comes to a conclusion. Will Nicole get her man, or will she get the chair?

Nicole takes another drink at the DiMera mansion. She looks in the mirror and starts fantasizing that she has killed Sami, but Sami's not down for the count just yet. She gets up and strangles Nicole. Nicole drops her drink (in reality). She goes back into the fantasy. "How many times do I have to kill you before you croak," she gasps. She gets the upper hand and finally, after a struggle, Sami dies. Nicole's exhausted. She needs a drink. Nobody messes with her man and gets away with it! She hears the door. "That must be EJ!" EJ shows up and she hides Sami's body, behind a screen. EJ calls Samantha's name. He's surprised to see Nicole, who tells him that the peroxide blonde isn't going to be here. EJ doesn't deny the affair. "Wasn't I woman enough for you?" she asks. "It's nothing like that, Nicky. It's just the way I am, the way I'll always be. You should have known that when you stole me away from Mabel," he says, smoking a cigarette. Nicole blames herself but EJ takes the blame. He's a grifter, a no good, nasty bum! He'd have cheated on Sami, in time, too! Nicole realizes she killed Sami for nothing, and thinks she wasted her life on a loser. EJ wants to know what Nicky did. She lies. "I didn't do anything." He calls her a hellion and finds her too classy for him. He leaves her, begging. She calls out, "I may be down, but I'm not out."

Lucas sits at the PI office and thinks about Chloe, the little red hot tamale. He calls his wife a floozy and was more upset to see Miss Chloe Lane and Philip smooching, than his wife, cheating. He thinks back to being at Club Marlowe and Philip tells him he doesn't want trouble. Lucas tells Philip he's a married man, and Chloe pipes up that she doesn't fool around with married men. Lucas leaves and Chloe tells Philip that she's in love with Mr. Horton. She wants to run after him. She quit working for him because she was in love, and couldn't do anything about it. Philip says she won't be happy with Lucas and if she leaves this job, she'll have to sleep at the mission again. He tells her if she doesn't want that, she'd better go change for the next show. She runs off.
Lucas thinks more, in his PI office. "I need a drink bad. I earned it." He was jolted by two dames in the same day. He takes a call from Nicole, who tells him she did it - for both of them! She calls him over to her place at 711 Ocean Drive.

At Club Marlowe, Chloe practices a song, while Philip listens. After she's finished, Philip tells her he'll keep her on, even though he'll never have her. He angrily tells her maybe she and Mr. Horton can work things out. She doesn't think so, and Philip thinks she needs a way to move on. She tells him she doesn't want to be alone, and they kiss. He backs off, and Chloe asks, "Don't you want me?" Philip wants her to want him. He doesn't want to play second banana to her boss. If she walks out, she can't return, he says. He tells her to go get Lucas, and she rushes off.

Nicole files her nails while she waits for Lucas. He shows up and she's drinking. She asks if he likes the bedroom. He wonders if she's coming on to him. She's not. She thinks he's smarter than that. She offers him a drink. He'll want one. She shows him Sami's body, that she has hidden behind a screen, and apologizes. "Oh, no, Sami. I'm not taking the rap for this!" Nicole has already thought of it. She thinks he'll be suspect and thinks Big Louie will like to see his return, in jail! She didn't mean to kill Sami but, "She gave me a little lip and I went crazy!" Lucas takes out his gun and tells her it's time to pay for this. "Big gun," she comments, and Lucas tells her she should see the size of the hole it makes. Nicole urges him on, but he can't do it. Nicole has nothing left to live for. Lucas gives her a gun, without a serial number. It's up to her, now. She takes the gun in hand.

EJ arrives at Club Marlowe. Philip's not open but invites EJ for a drink. On him. Philip asks what's up. EJ's thirsty. He lights up a cigarette and Philip asks what happened to the blonde he was with. Samantha ditched him, and EJ thinks something happened to her. He has a bad feeling about it. He calls, looking for her and Philip asks him to clam up when Nicole arrives. EJ tells her they're through. She knows. Philip gets her a Manhattan and leaves them. EJ tells doll-face he has a train to catch. Nicole says Sami's not coming with him. "I killed her!" EJ laughs. He doesn't believe her. "I'd do it again, too." If this is true, they'll never be together, says EJ, so Nicole gets the gun from her handbag and points it at him. "If I can't be with you, I'm going to kill you, then myself." He's blown away… figuratively! He tells her the answer is obvious. "I just don't like being taken for granted, see?" He takes the gun from her and puts it on the counter. He can't believe she killed for him. She left the body in the alley, behind their building, she says. They profess their love for each other and he tells her she has to get out of Salem. "You want me to go on the lam," Nicole asks. EJ says it's either that or the electric chair, and he'll go with her! They rush to pack, and Nicole stops for a drink, and we see that they've left the gun behind.

Chloe arrives at Mr. Horton's PI office. He's not there and she thinks she has lost all chances with him. She watches at the window and thinks it's a long way to fall. Lucas rushes in and worries she'll jump. She's not jumping! She could never do that, much as she wants to. Lucas asks her to tell him what's wrong. They share a drink and Chloe admits she quit her job. "Philly K tried to put the moves on you, eh?" She denies it. He was a swell chap, had a good job, but she wants Lucas. Lucas tells her that's music to his ears. They kiss. "What about your wife?" Lucas has to make a call, first.

EJ and Nicole arrive at home and pack. Nicole can't believe EJ has forgiven her for offing Sami and he can't believe she forgave him for straying. They agree Sami deserved it. Back at the DiMera mansion, and back to reality, Nicole wonders if EJ really would love her if Sami was out of the picture.

Lucas finishes his call (to the police) and tells Chloe he had to do it. Chloe is happy, and they plan a future together.

EJ and Nicole start to make love, but a knock comes to the door. Roman and Abe bust in, all decked out in suits and hats. "You're going away alright, but it's not going to be on vacation," he says. Roman tells her she's arrested for the murder of Samantha Horton. They know about EJ's affair with Samantha, and were told her body was in the alley outside their apartment. They found a locket on the body with EJ and Sami's photo. That's motive. They're sure they'll find Mrs. D's prints. "You're done, toots! Time for you to go downtown," finishes Roman. Nicole is cuffed and she begs for him to help her. Roman tells EJ there is nothing to wait for. She's going to the electric chair. EJ refuses to help her. He lights up a cigarette and takes the money from her handbag and stares into the camera, with a boyish grin on his face.
Back to reality, at the DiMera mansion, Nicole can't believe she can't even get EJ in her own imagination. She needs to find out what's going on at the hospital.
