Daniel shows a new side of himself, Ava is shocked about John's house guest and Chloe finds out that Lucas is in the hospital.
At the hospital, Daniel is reluctant to allow Bo to visit Victor. He allows a brief visit and leaves the room. Bo tells Victor not to worry about Philip. Victor raised a tough kid and Philip got his transfusion after they found his blood type. Victor can get his hands on as much blood for Philip's blood type as he needs but when Bo asks if he can pick it up for him, Victor refuses to tell him where it is! He thanks Bo for covering up evidence, but Bo is still angry about doing it. "Look where it got us," he says. Bo knows Hope is suspicious.
Outside Victor's room, Daniel demands to know what Kate said that almost killed Victor! She starts to tell him and he cuts her off, yelling that he had a right to life! He apologizes for his insensitivity and Kate says she told him Philip was in the hospital. Daniel says she shouldn't have. They need to keep Victor calm. Daniel will be the one to decide what his patient needs to know. "Is that clear?" Chelsea blasts Daniel for disrespecting Kate and demands an apology. Kate doesn’t want it, or anything else from Daniel! She stomps off and Chelsea berates Daniel, who tells her his patients are his priority. Chelsea continues to rant and rave at Daniel and follows Kate.
Daniel interrupts Bo and Victor. Victor needs tests run, so Bo leaves. Daniel's happy to see Bo didn't give him a cardiac arrest. He asks Victor to focus on getting well, but Victor needs to see Philip. "No, I'm sorry Victor. That's not going to happen."
At the mansion, Ava bounces on the sofa next to John and snuggles close. She is happy she gets to stay with John for a long time, since she's not being extradited. John can't get the situation with Paul off his mind. That could be Morgan in the hospital and he says Philip taking a bullet wasn't part of the design. Ava knows Philip will be fine, then once he is, they'll pin everything on him! She could strangle Eddie for being so careless. John tells her Rolf will clean up all the blood and he'll show her something that will take away all her fears!
Ava follows John down a darkened corridor in the mansion. He gives her a key to open a door. Inside the room is a scruffy looking Paul Hollingsworth - with an attitude! John asks him to relax. Ava's not too happy that John kept this from her but he now trusts her enough to show her. Paul wants to see his daughter, but John refuses him. He comments that all she has from him are two notes and a tape. John says there is no tape and he wonders where the tape is! Paul slid it into the envelope, he says, so they all know it's there. Ava realizes Bo Brady made the evidence disappear, since he's Philip's brother! John can't let go of Paul until Philip has been framed for his murder. John admits Morgan is falling in love with Philip and since he took a bullet for her, he's her hero! Paul is incensed! Ava leaves the men alone and John explains what happened. Paul thinks Eddie is either stupid or crazy, for thinking Morgan had a gun, and yells that he has to get out of there and set Morgan straight about Philip. John asks for patience. Soon, Morgan will have nothing to do with Philip. John thinks Paul's lucky to be alive and he should be grateful that his men dragged him from the water.
Morgan goes to an unconscious Philip and tells him if she could trade places with him, she would. She kisses him and tells him she's never felt this way about anyone. She thinks she's falling in love with him. Behind her, Chloe clears her throat. Morgan tells Chloe he's doing better. "I'm sure your love for him has saved his life," says Chloe, dryly. Hope interrupts and pulls Morgan outside. Chloe asks Philip how they ended up here. She will always be his friend and is trying not to be hurt but wished she had done all she could to keep him from getting involved with Morgan, so he wouldn't have gotten shot. She'll pray for him.
Outside Philip's room, Hope asks Morgan to go over the evidence once more. Once Morgan does that, Hope is confused as to where this proof is.
Morgan arrives back into Philip's room and she and Chloe make amends. Chloe wants Philip's happiness. If Morgan's right for Philip, she'll support it. Morgan isn't sure she's right for him, but they both agree that he deserves so much. Morgan promises not to hurt him and sits with him and flashes to a romantic dancing scene with Philip. After a while, Philip opens his eyes!
At Salem PD, Hope tells Bo that she questioned Morgan once more. "There's a gap in the chain of evidence." Hope knows Bo was the last one with the evidence and asks Bo if he looked inside the package and found more evidence. The frozen look on Bo's face causes Hope to assume she's right!
Chelsea and Kate find themselves at Java Café. Chelsea's angry with Daniel but Kate thinks she's overreacting. Daniel shows up and Chelsea gives the two time to talk. Daniel apologizes to Kate for his behavior. Kate is forgiving and realizes she should have kept quiet about Philip. She was afraid someone else would have said something. Daniel will fight like hell to save both Victor and Philip, he promises. Kate knows he's under strain from their relationship, as well as his work and says his passion is what drew her to him. "Which is why I…" she trails off.
Nicole arrives at the hospital, upset that Philip was shot. Chloe tells her he's doing okay. They decide their problems are nothing in comparison to Philip's issues and decide to go in to see him together, after Morgan leaves. Chloe sadly tells Nicole that Morgan's in love with Philip. Chloe knows it was never meant to be for them. She's surprised at her candor with Nicole, which causes Nicole to laugh. "I think it's called becoming friends!" They laugh about that and when Chloe asks a nurse about Philip, she says she has been reassigned to his brother's case. "His brother?" Chloe asks, confused. "Yeah, Lucas Horton!"
Ava arrives at Java Café. She sits down to write a letter…
Chelsea goes to visit Victor but he's getting a cat scan. Daniel apologizes for his behavior, earlier. He blames his concern over Victor and admits this happens to him sometimes. The storm has passed! Chelsea calls Kate a forgiving lady. Chelsea agrees that this is a difficult time and both she and Victor are better for having him in their lives. They start kissing and Kate walks in.
Later, Hope finds a letter. Someone knows that the police have covered up evidence in the Hollingsworth case. She shows Bo.

Sami and EJ take care of the children. Sami is hopeful that she and EJ can be friends.
Lucas is battered and beat up. Roman asks him if he's sure he wants to continue this…
Nicole thinks Chloe should walk away from Lucas, as long as Sami's still in his life.
