Marlena catches John with Ava, Bo refuses to talk, Morgan confronts John, Philip gets a threat.

Steve strolls over to Bo's. He asks him out for another beer. Bo reminds him it's 11 AM. Bo wishes he hadn't confided in him but Steve thinks he did the right thing. He doubts that Philip could be guilty of murder. Bo isn't so sure and worries that he could lose everything over this. Steve is sure that Hope will soon figure out what's going on. He offers to dig around and help find a way to put his mind at ease. Bo decides to call off his surprise for Hope.

Kayla opens her door and finds Caroline there. She wants to hear how Joe's first night at home has been. It's been great, Kayla says. Caroline hands her another outfit for the child and sits down so they can "have a talk". Caroline worries about Bo. Kayla's worried too, not that she knows anything. Hope's worried as well and so is Victor and Daniel and Chelsea. Kayla gets confused as the list grows. Caroline explains that Daniel doesn't allow any visitors to see Victor anymore because Bo and Philip kept upsetting him. Something strange must be going on... She tells Kayla that Victor told her to tell Bo "thank you" and she has no idea what that could mean. It must have something to do with Hollingsworth. Kayla sent Steve to get information out of Bo but hasn't heard anything yet. She fills her mother in on the Ava situation and her unresolved feelings about it. She wishes Stephanie was there and prays her brother will come to his senses. Steve comes through the door and gives "Mama Chowder" a hug. They discuss Bo but Steve tells them there is nothing to be concerned about. They prod him for answers but he repeats that there is nothing to worry about. The women decide to talk to Bo themselves and leave him to watch the baby.

At the Kiriakis mansion, Kate and Philip eat breakfast. Well, he isn't eating because he's too upset. He worries that Bo thinks he killed Hollingsworth. "He may not be the only one," Kate says. He's annoyed; he thinks she thinks he's guilty. She insists she isn't judging him. "But I didn't do anything!" he protests, worrying. Henderson comes in with a letter he found on the doorstep. He opens it and hands it off to Kate. "I know your secret," it reads. "Someone is obviously trying to get to me and I do not like it," he says, assuming John is behind it. He leaves to put a stop to it. Kate burns the letter. "If John or anyone else threatens my son, it's the last thing they'll do," she vows.

At the DiMera mansion, John and Ava lounge on the couch. She talks about their amorous antics but he's busy reading an article about Paul. He says that searching for him is a waste of time. "How do you know it's a waste of time?" Marlena asks as she bursts into the room. Rolf apologizes but John says it's okay. "I didn't mean to intrude on your... private time," she hisses. He says that's okay because she's his wife, not that she ever acted like it. Ava decides she should be somewhere else. Before she can escape, EJ catches her. She thanks John for last night and walks off. EJ strolls over to the desk to work. Marlena and John repeat their common argument about her trying to change him into who he isn't. She points out that he's now committed infidelity. "I guess that gives you grounds for divorce," he mutters. They bicker. She walks out.

Marlena grabs Rolf in the foyer. He doesn't want to talk; he's scared of John. She says that it's not John, just a robot in his body. She repeats her demands that he work with the ISA to fix John's memory disc. Rolf worries but Marlena repeats her promise that she can get him protection from John, new or old. She worries that the old John will never come back. He reminds her that she's always gotten through to him eventually. Not this time. "The truth is: He's falling in love with someone else," she admits.

Ava catches Marlena at the pub to apologize. Marlena vows to fight for her husband, if not for herself, than for his own sake. Ava reminds her that John Black doesn't exist. Marlena tells her that the man she slept with wasn't her husband and that the real John is hiding somewhere inside. "When the real John comes back, he will be though with you," Marlena bites.

Caroline and Kayla go to visit Bo. Caroline goes up to see Ciara so the siblings can chat. Kayla doesn't like to see him suffer. He insists there is nothing but he's calling off his surprise for Hope. She won't let him do that and decides to back and see Steve. "Tell Hope; you know she'll understand," she says as she leaves. Caroline pops back down. "It's true Bo and the same goes for your mother," she says. She sits down with him and she brings up the visiting ban around Victor. She knows something is wrong. He claims it's work related. Then he should talk to Hope, she says. He can't but he agrees to go ahead with her surprise.

Ava drops by Steve's to talk to he and Kayla. Kayla isn't there. He lets her in. She apologizes again and reassures him that she is a different person now. She loved him once, but she's moving on. "With a married man. Congratulations," he says sarcastically. She and John are misfits, she admits. Her future is bleak and she asks if he'll consider testifying on her behalf. He refuses to lie for her. She just wants him to tell the truth about her: That she wasn't normally capable of the things that happened. He thought she wanted to pay for what she's done. She feels terrible, but she's not responsible and rotting in jail won't bring anyone back. He agrees to tell them about the person she was and what she became. She thanks him and goes to the door. Kayla walks in just as she does. Ava runs out. Steve tells Kayla why she was there. Kayla trusts him; they've both made mistakes but she hopes they've learned.

"Sounds like you're going to be needing a divorce lawyer," EJ comments back at the mansion. John is sure she's better off without him. EJ tells him that it's best to be true to himself; it doesn't pay to be someone you're not. "It's not that easy," John says, reminding him that he still has to prove his loyalty and can't just leap from the Bradys to the DiMeras. EJ wants his old life back, even if he has to work for John to get it. The door bell rings and Judge Fitzpatrick comes in to thank John for his donation. EJ tells her he wants to talk about Ava. He explains that he would like the trial kept in the U.S. She tells them that she is their "close friend". After she leaves, EJ is elated. John is skeptical that it will help much. EJ reminds him that John's defense all depends on Paul and he is gone. Rolf interrupts to announce that Morgan is there. "I want to know what you did with my father!" she demands as she bursts in. She accuses John of killing her father and threatens to kill him. Edward Vitali, Ava's cousin, arrives and Morgan continues to rant, refusing to leave. John gives his word that he didn't harm her father. She continues to rant until Philip arrives. He tries to pull her away. She reaches into her bag. Edward assumes she's reaching for a gun and pulls his. As he fires, Philip leaps in front of her.

Next on Days of Our Lives:
A gun goes off and chaos ensues as Morgan weeps.
Daniel tells Chelsea that what's happening between Victor and Bo is none of her business.
