Tony confronts John, EJ has bad news for Ava, Philip and Bo argue, Salem PD dredge the river for Paul's body, Kate and Anna drink.

At the DiMera mansion, John massages Ava's feet. She sighs as he winks at her toes. She asks him if he has a rooftop terrace they can go to. Making love to him was magical and she wants a repeat. So would he, but not right there. EJ interrupts John while he helps Ava unwind. He tells Ava that he's just back from meeting the Assistant DA and she shouldn't be making any long term plans. John leaves to give them privacy. EJ explains that the DA's office is extremely confident in a conviction. "I think they hold all the cards. I think this will be really tough," he admits. There are many charges they can easily make and the Federal government even wants a piece of her. He'll do everything that he can, but they have her. She wishes that she could go back in time and change things. She's made one mistake after another in her life, doing terrible things and hurting people... He tells her that no lawyer in this country could convince a jury to acquit her. One of her cousins has agreed to testify against her and the Irish government want her tried in Ireland. Because things are complicated, they can buy some time playing all the parties against each other. First, they need to deal with the extradition and they have to start thinking about a deal. She wishes her father was around to fix this. He reminds her that they both know some powerful people and should talk to them. He offers to speak to John but she stops him and asks for a minute alone. After he walks out, she starts to cry.

At the pub, Tony and Kate are toasting to the success of her new "Hearth and Home" product line. Tony tells Roman that he is sure Kate will knock Martha Stewart off her pedestal and be the ultimate American housewife. Roman bursts into laughter. A call comes in from the station and Roman quickly tells his friends that Paul may have met with foul play. He leaves, unable to say more. Tony senses that Kate is hiding something and asks her what it is. She tells him that any act of violence that comes close to her family upsets her. She decides to call Philip and tell him what Roman said. As she leaves to do this, Tony recalls John asking him to put a spin on Paul's corruption charges. He wonders if Uncle John had anything to do with this. Meanwhile, Kate calls Philip and tells him what Roman said. He says he'll talk to her later. Tony sneaks up on her as she hangs up. He tells her he has another meeting and has to cut their meeting short. Tony calls Anna's voice mail to tell her he's going to see Uncle John.

Anna arrives at the pub searching for Tony. She finds Kate instead. Kate isn't friendly. Anna babbles about Tony and asks her to be civil. Kate relents and asks her to sit down and have a drink or five. She sits and tells her that her business folded and she is working with Tony now. Anna gabs about how Carrie and Austin are planning a family. She hopes Carrie turns out to be a better mom than she was. Kate doesn't bother correcting her by suggesting she was a good mother, much to Anna's chagrin. Kate admits that she was never a good role-model to her own children so she won't throw stones. Anna is sure that Kate was a tough woman who would do anything for her kids. Kate thinks she may have been too strong with them. Anna says they've all turned out fine. Kate isn't convinced. Anna says Lucas has time to learn. "Ten years unless he gets off on good behavior," Kate smirks. When they go outside, they hear sirens and noise.

Tony goes to visit Uncle John at the mansion. John isn't happy to see him. Tony wants to talk about Paul. He's curious why he wanted to help him so much. John explains that he was interested in helping him back then, but he turned out to be "backstabbing scum" and now John just wants to, "Tear his heart out and feed it to my dogs." Tony smirks at the over the top remark. "That sounds delicious," he sighs.

Hope hurries home. Bo breaks the news that they found Paul's coat and they're sure his body will be the next thing to float up. Bo's frustrated. She assumes he knows more than he's letting on. He's awkward and doesn't even want to talk about this mess. There's no solid proof on anything, he says. Hope doubts that. He tells her he wants to work the case alone for her own good. This makes her livid and she demands more information. He insists he has a good reason for keeping her in the dark. "I need you to trust me," she says. "Trust goes both ways," he reminds her. There are things he needs to take care of and he needs her to trust him and stay out of it. He walks out. "I don't trust you. I can't," she says.

At the station, Abe tells Philip to wait outside while he talks to Morgan. After young Kiriakis is gone. Abe tells Morgan where they found her father's jacket. She assumes they think Paul has been killed. She goes out and tells Philip that everyone is convinced her father is dead. She just needs to know one way or the other. He stops her morbid rambling. She tells him about growing up with her father; she was always "daddy's little girl". He would never simply up and leave unless he was scared of something or someone. Philip holds her and tells her not to give up.

Morgan walks in on Roman and Abe planning to drag the river for her father's body. She's disturbed. Roman and Abe try to keep her calm. She begs them to find her father. Bo walks in for an update. Morgan leaves to call her mother. Philip mills around while Roman whispers to Bo, informing him on the situation, sure they will dredge up Paul somewhere. Bo takes his brother into the office to confront him. "You killed Hollingsworth!" he accuses. Philip repeats that he is no killer: He only threatened Paul in anger, that was all. Bo doesn't think so. On the tape, he sounded just like Victor: Icy and in control. "I know how much it cost you to do what you did," Philip says. They were never close and that's what makes this amazing. Bo says there is nothing he can do to make up for this. He rants about how much Victor ignores the law. Philip stands up for his father and what he's done for his family, including saving Bo's life. Philip repeats that he had nothing to do with Paul's death and if Bo hadn't believed that, he wouldn't have handed the evidence to Victor. Philip thanks him again but pithily tells him that what's done is done. Bo won't leave it alone. If it turns out that Philip is a killer, he will confess what he did and turn him in himself. When he opens the door, they see Morgan standing there.

Next on Days of Our Lives:

"The sooner she's behind bars the better," Kayla says of Ava.

"There is another option for both of us: We could just skip bail and leave the country," Ava suggests to John.

Daniel claims that he's committed to staying in Salem for a variety of reasons. "Oh, really? What would those be?" Chelsea asks.

Go away, Ava. Far, far away.

As annoying as Morgan has become, I do feel bad for her. She and her dad were obviously close so this has to be incredibly hard for her.

But Paul played both sides and took money from both John and Phillip. But I do not think either one had anything to do with paul's death. I think Ava had it done even though John said not to and to just let Paul off some where and give him time to think. Ava and her goons wanted to shoot Paul while they ahd him at John's mansion and were giving him a beating and questioning him. So after leaving John's I bet Ava had Paul iced.

As for Morgan I don't know if Phillip and her make a good match and that if she finds out that Paul planted the cocaine with John's shipments for Phillip I think she will be very upset because John and Phillip took advantage of Paul's financial situation and they botrh used him leading up to his death.

***Spoiler Alert***
All the spoilers say Phillip takes the bullet for Morgan when Ava's goons try to shoot her. So this may make up for using her dad if she learns about it. Also while Phillip is in the hospital unconcious Morgan says she is falling in love with him. I think this further leads to Ava's involvement in Paul's murder.

Thanks for catching me up Greatbear100.

This whole John and Ava thing has really got me irked. He need his memory back already.
If they find Paul's body then Philip is sunk. Hopefully he didn't do that.

I can't stand Ava, she is making John worse than what he is. He is becoming more annoying, they need to bring back the old John. Greatbear100- I agree, I think Ava had Paul killed, and John & Phillip are innocent.

Bo is starting to make no sense, I know he is protecting his family but what about Hope she has the right to know she knows he is hiding something. I think if Victor didn't have the stroke he may not have hid anything, but I don't agree hiding information from Hope, not only a cop but his wife.

******SPOILER ALERT******** (for those of you who think Ava had Paul killed)

It states in the spoiler section that John admits to being involved in Paul's dissapearance so that he could pin it on Phillip...I mean I guess there is still a huge possibility that Ava and/or her goons were involved, but I guess only time will tell!

I am so MAD! Ava needs to be shot in the head for sleeping with John.****Spoiler***** I did read something in the store today that stated that John and Marlena fans should be glad that John slept with Ava. I don't know what that means yet, but I guess we will find out!

Posted by MARCO88 at Wednesday, July 23 2008 02:54 PM

I so agree. Ava needs to go far away. I hate that her and John are together. I want John and Marlena together. It is good to see Anna and Tony back. I love them together. I think Kate needs a man. Maybe Roman since he has no one.

Posted by angel15 at Wednesday, July 23 2008 03:04 PM

I think Roman is to good for Kate. It would be nice for Roman to have someone he needs a s/l.
Kate and Chloe should stay single forever!!! They don't deserve anyone.
Ava- UGH!!! She is such a backstabbing awful person only thinking of herself. Today when she said she wishes her Father was here to fix this wasn't she the one who didn't really shed a tear when he was shot?? Selfish Witch!!! I think she is only using John cuz she thinks he can help her and she knows he has lots of money.
