Kate asks Chelsea to stop seeing Daniel, John trashes the disc and two couples turn to each other for sex.
Everyone in the Brady family watches as Chelsea and Daniel make out, while Hope tries to get Bo to take it easy. Caroline notes to Victor that his talk with Daniel didn’t do much good, and when Kate arrives, she sees Daniel and Chelsea kissing and promptly passes out! Kate's brought to a lounger and Victor is upset with Chelsea since Kate just had surgery and this isn't what she needs. Bo thinks it's the heat and Hope says she's still weak. They get her some juice and Kate finally comes to. Abe and Lexi arrive, with Theo, and Lexi is surprised that Daniel got involved with Chelsea. Kate comes to and right away wants to talk to Chelsea.
Sami goes in search of Lucas, at the mansion, in the dark. She searches for the ankle bracelet, and Marlena finds her in the great room. Sami asks why Marlena's crying. Marlena tells Sami she has lost John for good. She doesn't want a clean start, but John took away her hope. When John and Ava return from the lab, Sami blasts John. He tells her this is none of your business. Sami calls him a coward and a fool. John says Blondie knew the risks. Marlena agrees but knows there are people who could help - not a stranger. Sami lashes out and calls Ava a kidnapper and murderer and bickering goes on. John's memories mean nothing to him, much to Marlena's surprise. He finds it liberating, he admits. He and Ava go upstairs and Marlena says there is nothing more to discuss. She wants to talk about Sami's love life. Sami wants to spend her life with Lucas but can't erase what happened with EJ. She lets Marlena know that she told EJ they don't have a future. Since it's hot and she's having a bad night, Sami wants to get out. Marlena suggests a few places, including Salem Inn. They may have backup power, so Sami decides to head there. Marlena stays home.
Lucas and Chloe continue to kiss in the elevator. Though Chloe's claustrophobic, Lucas makes her feel more secure. Chloe stops kissing and asks what they're doing. Lucas says the tension at the mansion is getting to him and he wonders sometimes if Sami wished he was still in prison. Chloe thinks that's awful and is surprised when Lucas tells her she understands him. They agree that this feels right to them but Chloe feels guilty for betraying Philip. Lucas reminds her that he's betraying her with Morgan and asks her to lose the guilt. She knows he's right. He admits that though they're both free and available, he has Sami and she has Philip. Nothing has really changed. He wonders if they're using each other and Chloe wonders if it can change. Lucas isn't sure how to go from one person to the next. "Let me see if I can help," says Chloe. They resume kissing and wind up having sex.
In the next elevator, EJ and Nicole rip each other's clothes off as they kiss, passionately, but during a passionate moment, EJ calls out Samantha's name. Nicole backs off and EJ apologizes. Nicole refuses to play second best. EJ says it was a mistake and didn't mean to hurt her. They resume kissing, and the rest of their clothes come off. EJ thinks she's beautiful and Nicole tells him he's something. Not like the egocentric bullies of her past. She calls him thoughtful and considerate. Kissing ensues. After they have sex, EJ wonders what just happened. Nicole calls it revenge sex and EJ is surprised that Nicole can go from vulnerable to a tough exterior. He doesn't understand why she thinks so poorly of herself, since she's one of the most amazing women he's ever met. They kiss.
Stephanie waits for Max to close the pub. They've still got power and Nick shows up to help Max. Max tells Nick that Trent has information that he wants and he needs Nick's help to get it. He thinks the girl in the photo is his sister and Trent won't tell him. Nick acts as devil's advocate and says maybe it's not his business. He's still digesting the fact that Trent's Max's father. Max reminds him that Shawn Brady was his father. Nick has a plan.
Nick meets Trent outside of the pub. Nick says his car broke down and he asks for a ride. Nick bumps into Trent on his way into the pub to get his things. "I'm so sorry," he says. Trent laughs it off and Nick takes Trent's cell phone from him, unnoticed and places it behind a pillar. After they leave, Max comes outside and grabs it, smiling.
Marlena finds her way into the lab once again and finds the disc split in two. She picks it up and refuses to give up on him.
Kate and Victor bring Chelsea into the house and Kate asks her to break off with Daniel. Chelsea is confused as to why everyone cares so much.
Outside, Lexi reminds Daniel that he was ready to leave town because of Chelsea. He needs to think this through. Daniel has, he says, passionately. He knows that they seem so different, and although it's scary, it feels right.
Sami arrives at the Inn, with the twins. She asks for a room but the guard says the hotel's on temporary lockdown. They've got emergency backup for the lights. Sami finds out that there are people stuck in the elevators.
Inside the elevator, Nicole and EJ snuggle. Nicole says this feels right. EJ finds it difficult to breathe and wonders when they'll get rescued.
In the nearby elevator, Lucas thinks he could get caught if they're rescued. Part of him wants to leave town but Chloe knows he could never leave his daughter. He tells her if he is caught, he'll be in jail forever. Chloe tells him to stop thinking about it and pulls him into a searing kiss.
Ava and John return to the great room and think they're alone in the mansion. The blackout is growing on Ava, who finds it romantic. John pours champagne and they toast to ushering in of a new era. "The era of John Black DiMera."
Later, Nick returns to the pub and Max tells him he's found a number out of the country that Trent's been calling a lot lately. Nick rushes out of the pub, saying he's told Trent he'd return to help him with something. Max calls the phone number and a young girl's voice says, "Dad? Dad?"
Back at the Brady barbeque, it looks like Daniel's ready to head out as the rest of the family watch the fireworks.

Chloe says, "Lucas, you've got to stop doing this to yourself." Lucas says, "I'm through. I don't want to talk about it anymore."
Stephanie says happily, "Max, you might have a sister!"
Sami walks to the elevator and sees EJ and Nicole half dressed. EJ says, "Uh... Samantha." Sami asks, "In an elevator?"
