Days of Our Lives - DAILY UPDATES

Kate and Philip pay Lucas a visit at Salem PD to try to convince him into pleading temporary insanity. Lucas isn't interested but they keep talking. They'll have psychiatrists report that he wasn't sane during the shooting. They want Sami to help the cause by saying Lucas was driven to madness by her! He refuses. He's the one who shot EJ - not Sami. Philip wants Lucas to talk to Sami about this. There isn't much time. Philip leaves for a meeting and Kate tells Lucas that coming clean could spell disaster. Without Sami, he has no chance. She wants him to write Sami a letter to Sami that she'll hand deliver!

Bo and Hope dress up like vagrants and stake out the storefront. When Rob shows up, Hope makes a big production about not being able to get a signal on her cell phone, in order to snap photos of Rob. While Bo fakes sleeping (snoring), Rob tells them to leave; there's a shelter down the street, he motions. Hope mumbles, "It's full." She asks if he owns the place but he shakes his head. When Crystal shows up, Bo shows her his badge. He thinks she has information on a hit and run that resulted in death and a possible abduction in Europe. Crystal tells them she has no idea what they're on about and she's a psychic. "I see things." Bo says she's about to see the inside of a police department.

At home, Marlena leafs through a photo album, reminiscing. After she doesn't hear the doorbell ring several times, Roman lets himself in and notices her album. He tells her she and John had a very special relationship and she'll be fine, but it won't happen overnight. He knows John would tell her to get out there and move on. It's too soon for her she says and she tells him she can feel a sense of John. "It feels like he's out there somewhere." Roman tells her it's hard to let go. She wants to believe John's still there. "What if he's alive?" she asks. Roman reminds her she saw John get hit by the car and saw him take his final breath. Marlena will never forget, she says and thinks it's illogical for Stefano to be alive as well, but… Roman doesn't think she's being rational and promises if there was a way to bring John home, he would. He offers her to call him if she is in need.

Marlena calls Nick over. She asks for his confidentiality. When she asks him to find out if John's dead, he appears shocked and asks, "You want me to exhume the grave?" Marlena tells him she had his body exhumed and cremated. She gives Nick John's cremains and asks if he can use the University lab to test. Nick says he can test if they're human but not much else. Roman shows up as Nick leaves with the urn and tells Marlena Crystal is being brought in. He asks why Nick left with a crematory urn. Marlena confesses all and angers Roman who thinks Crystal is taking advantage of a grieving widow. They decide to find out the truth, and head to Salem PD.he's out there somewhere." Roman tells her it's hard to let go. She wants to believe John's still there. "What if he's alive?" she asks. Roman reminds her she saw John get hit by the car and saw him take his final breath. Stefano tells John there is no turning back once he has started. John just wants to get out of there but Stefano lies and says he is a fugitive and it's dangerous for him to be out there. John wonders why. Who is it dangerous for? Stefano dances around the issue but an agitated John demands to know why he is being held there. Stefano asks Rolf to take John to his quarters and up the medication but Rolf argues that if he does so, John may not comprehend simple instructions. Stefano asks why John has a need to get out and Rolf deduces that John's searching for something. Stefano wants reassurance that John's memory won't come back.

At Sami's place, as Sami snuggles Johnny. EJ compliments her on her mothering skills but Sami thinks Will would disagree. EJ offers to talk to Will but she refuses him. "EJ, I don’t want you anywhere near him. I think you've done enough!"

Kate arrives at Sami's place and just then, EJ notices a few repo men in the hall, repossessing his furniture. EJ tells Sami the furniture is Stefano's, legally! He signed everything over to Stefano to protect himself when Mythic went under. He goes off to find out what's going on at the mansion while Sami goes inside to talk to Kate, who gives Sami the letter from Lucas and asks her to help him.

The letter reads, "I know you are angry and hurt and I am sorry. I made a serious mistake and we're all paying for it. Al I wanted was for us to make up for the time lost. I miss you and our family so much. I don't want us to be apart and there is a chance we don’t have to be. I need your help. Please call Philip and he'll set you up with his attorneys. If we stick together, I know we can beat this. I love you. You are my life, don't ever forget it, Lucas. Sami cries as she reads it.

EJ arrives at the mansion. He accepts a shot of liquor and mentions the couch napping! Stefano says he's finished with EJ now, money and otherwise. "Oh I see my sofa for my son!" EJ calls Stefano's project despicable. Stefano says it's not his business and EJ angers Stefano more when he retorts he'll see about that. EJ reminds him he has not told anyone at the Salem PD what he and his cracked little friend Rolf are up to in his lab. EJ gives him a choice. Stefano is to give him everything back - his cars, stock portfolio and trust fund or he'll go to the Brady brothers and let them know who is living in his basement!

At Salem PD, Bo and Hope interrogate Crystal who only admits to being self-employed. She isn't working for Stefano and never met the owner of the building, she says and refuses to tell Bo what Rob does for a living. Marlena and Roman show up and before they allow Crystal to leave, Marlena asks if John is alive.

Sami shows up to the police department to see Philip and Cameron Reese, the DA. Reese tells Sami that she can take the stand to defend Lucas and tells her that Lucas was temporarily insane. Sami says Lucas is the sanest person she knows. Carmen explains that even a normal person can be pushed to their limits. They need Sami to take the stand and admit to… "Driving my ex-husband insane, I know," Sami yells, unhappily. Phil tells her she has no choice. Sami agrees she doesn’t want Lucas to be in prison while their children grow up. Philip tells her if she doesn't do this, Lucas is toast. She cries that she has to be the scapegoat after she changed so much to help her family. She says it's not fair and because Lucas didn't have the guts to ask her himself, she won't do it! She yells, "To hell with Lucas!"

Phillip says, "Sami, he's out of options. You're it. And that's to show you how desperate he is. You have to help him."

Marlena asks Nick, "Did you get it?" Nick says, "Yes, but you're not going to like it."

Stefano tells EJ that if he walks out the door, he won't be returning.
