For the hundredth time, Lucas disowns Kate, Sami gets a surprise visitor and EJ meets his son.
Upstairs at the pub, Hope and Bo make a quick recovery and congratulate Belle and Shawn on their upcoming nuptials. Bo takes Shawn down to the pub for a congratulatory drink while Belle says she knows this is sudden but knows if she put Shawn off, he'd wonder what was going on. Hope reminds her that this is what lies do. "They grow." Belle reassures Hope that she'll never make the same mistake with Philip again. Belle is shocked to hear that Hope has told Bo her secret but relaxes once Hope says they agreed not to tell Shawn the truth. Hope's not convinced Belle wants this marriage as much as Shawn does and asks her to promise she won't hurt Shawn. Belle cries, "I swear on my life."
At Sami and EJ's place, Sami requests more time before she and EJ wed, but EJ refuses her. "In 36 hours, you and I will be husband and wife." Sami asks for a few weeks to put the babies on a schedule but EJ says they don't have that long because Stefano has taken a turn for the worse and is going back to Italy soon.
Downstairs at the pub, Bo gives Shawn some fatherly advice and confesses he's not sure this is the best time for he and Belle to marry. Shawn is shocked and upset and asks him why the about face. He admits his life is far from settled but if they wait, they may never do it. He says they're both committed to each other and Bo stops him, saying that he doesn't have to prove anything. Bo has a difficult time expressing himself to Shawn so he sighs and says he loves Belle and thinks she'll be a great wife!
Upstairs at the pub, Belle worries that Bo won't keep her secret and is thrilled when Bo and Shawn arrive back upstairs with Bo's formal blessing. Hope appears satisfied with this and kisses them, providing her own blessing!
At Sami and Lucas' place, Lucas tells Sami that she doesn't have to marry EJ but EJ is quick to remind Lucas about what happened to John Black because of the vendetta. Lucas thinks EJ is manipulating their family and is angry that they're letting it happen, but EJ counters that the vendetta has been going on long before he was born. Sami says tomorrow night it'll end when they marry, so Lucas offers to leave them to plan the wedding. Once Lucas is gone, EJ demands, "Get me my son, Samantha, now." Sami brings Johnny out and asks how he got the court order so fast. "Do you have to ask," EJ asks her back. Sami gives Johnny to EJ, and tells him from this point on, nothing will be the same. "His needs have to come first," she says. "Of course, always," EJ agrees and Sami tells him he needs to be with his sister. EJ says he can stay with her until the wedding, and then the three of them will start their lives as a family. Sami cries as he says they're going to live happily ever after.
Lucas ends up at Stefano's mansion wanting reassurance that his sacrifice won't be in vain. He brings up Kate's recent brush with death, and Stefano is confused. "If I wanted somebody dead, they would be," he says. "Like John Black?" Lucas asks and walks on Stefano.
Lucas arrives at Philip's office and finds Kate alone. He relays Stefano's confusion over the shooting and reveals he doesn't think that Stefano had anything to do with it. Kate acts surprised and Lucas thinks she and EJ concocted this scheme. She denies it so he calls EJ and lies, saying Kate just admitted that they staged the shooting. EJ admits, 'It was her idea." Lucas hangs up and says, "You did it again. You betrayed me." Lucas thinks this scheme takes the cake over all her other schemes. Kate's excuse is that she was afraid that none of them would be safe from the vendetta but Lucas thinks she's lying and disowns her... again. "You've lost me and your grandchildren, forever," he says angrily before he walks out.
Sami puts John back to bed and asks what the call was about from Lucas. EJ says, "The usual accusations." He turns the conversation to how they'll be a family when they marry but Sami asks, "What do you know about family?" EJ thinks she may be surprised at what she finds out. After he leaves, she says this is not what she wanted. Colleen appears to Sami and tells her this is exactly what she wanted. Sami says she only feels disgust for EJ, but Colleen doesn't believe her. She wants to help her see that she doesn't need excuses and lies. Sami yells that she and Santo are the ones that started the vendetta but Colleen wants Sami to finish it, "The right way," she says. Sami asks what she saw in Santo and Colleen admits she saw danger, desire and freedom to be who she truly was. She thinks Sami feels the same about EJ and asks Sami to look inside herself to see which man she wants the most. Sami starts to cry and yells at Colleen to shut up and leave her alone.
At the pub, Hope and Bo take a seat at a booth and Hope admits she told Belle that he knows her secret. Bo wonders if Shawn asked her to marry him because he can sense something is happening.
Belle and Shawn are hugging and kissing while they discuss their wedding. When Shawn goes to the bathroom, Belle waits for him on the bed, where she reminisces about having sex with Philip. Philip calls Belle from his office and asks to see her but Belle refuses and announces her wedding. She quickly hangs up when Shawn returns.
In his office, Philip paces and stares out the window, reflecting.
EJ visits Stefano at the mansion and talks happily about how wonderful Johnny is. Stefano thinks he should take Johnny to Italy to live but EJ refuses and thinks they'll be able to bring Johnny up as a DiMera through and through. Stefano says he's proud of EJ and Santo would be as well. He reminds his son that the future lies in his and Johnny's hands.
Lucas arrives at the pub to tell Bo and Hope they've got to stop Sami from marrying EJ. He asks them to help him have an intervention.

The Brady's gather at the pub. Kayla asks, "Sami is marrying EJ tonight?" Roman is surprised she didn't let him know.
Lucas tells a stunned Sami, "Our future is over, forever."
Kate screams at Stefano, "You betrayed me! You and your lying son!" EJ asks if they can do this later, as he doesn't have time for this now! This pushes Kate over the edge and she waves a gun at them and yells, "You make time!"
