Stephanie looks for a new place to live, Chelsea tells Nick about Jett, Sami tries to kill Stefano, Roman comes out of surgery.

At the pub, Stephanie is anxiously waiting for Jeremy when he arrives. He takes it that things haven't gone well with her dad and that he still has it in for him. She wants to get out of her father's house and move in with him. Jeremy seems reluctant and tries to laugh it off. She's serious. Grabbing a newspaper, he suggests that she look at one of those places. She thinks that paying two bills for everything is stupid, but he doubts that living together is a good idea. It sounds like she is rushing things to him. 'I'd be cool with how you live,' she argues, as long as he doesn't bring other women home. Taking her hand, he asks her if she is doing this to make her dad angry. 'When we do move in together, I'm hoping it will be as husband and wife,' he smiles. It sounds like a proposal to her. 'That's not what I meant,' he apologizes, but she's obviously disappointed. As she pouts, he offers to take her out looking for an apartment. She doesn't think she can afford it, but he offers to help pay. When he leaves the table, she calls her aunt.

Nick meets with Chelsea at the pier. She asks him why he's not on his honeymoon with his Vegas girl. He tells her it's all a blur but he's still single. She made a mistake too: She trusted Jett Carver. What did he do? He's been lying to everyone, she explains, telling him that Jett is an undercover agent. She feels that Jett has been leading them all on. Now he wants her to be a spy. Jett threatened to have Stephanie taken down with Jeremy unless Chelsea spied on her for him. It feels like a set-up to her. Nick tells her to go with her gut feeling about this. Her gut is always wrong though. He still blames himself for everything that's gone wrong between them; he knows that he wasn't always honest. She's glad to hear that he ran the paternity tests again and told Lucas that he was the father. After that, he was fired, he explains, so now he has lots of time to help her. She doesn't want him getting involved. Jeremy suddenly appears. Nick begins to ramble while Jeremy hands Chelsea her paycheck. He wishes that she would stop saying bad things about him to his girlfriend. She apologizes and he walks away. Turning to her, Nick says that he still wants to help; he'd so anything for her. She smiles and hugs him. They're friends again as long as he doesn't pull any 'will you marry me' stuff. He asks her out for coffee and they prance away while someone appears in the shadows.

When Adrienne arrives at the pub, she hugs her niece and they sit down. Stephanie wants to move in with her, but it would only be temporary, she says. 'What's wrong with your parent's place?' her aunt asks. Stephanie says it's too small and she feels like she's in the way. Adrienne wants to know why she really wants to move out. She needs Steve's approval first, Adrienne says. When she takes out her phone, Stephanie asks her to stop. Stephanie explains how much her father hates Jeremy because he has a record... but 'he's a changed person now', she claims. Adrienne sees why Steve is concerned. Stephanie wishes someone would just cut her boyfriend a break. Her aunt reminds her that Steve is only trying to protect her and make up for the time he missed. Adrienne gives in though and agrees to let her move in. When Jeremy arrives, Stephanie tells him that she will be moving in with her aunt. Adrienne tells him that he's lucky to have his parents and then leaves. He wonders if this is a good idea. Steph tells him that she's glad now that they won't be living together because he'd want her even more. They start to kiss.

At the hospital, Roman takes a turn for the worse. Marlena tells Sami that there is fluid around his heart and he'll have to be drained. Sami is sure that he will die and she isn't going to sit around and wait for something awful to happen—she's going to do something! Lucas tells her that getting upset won't help anyone. When Roman is pushed out to go into surgery, Sami runs off. Moments later, Lucas is running around the hospital shouting after her. He and Marlena know that she must have gone after the Dimeras herself. She tells him to get the car.

At the mansion, EJ asks his father if he wants a drink. Stefano wheels across the room, still angry that his son has betrayed him for the Bardy's and children that aren't even his. 'They were family; they were my future!' EJ protests. Stefano doesn't believe that's all it was. He's sure that his son only cares about Samantha. He slaps EJ across the face. 'For God's sake! You are a DiMera!' he shouts before mocking his son and calling him a disgrace. If EJ was a real man, he would be active; he would take Sami and get Lucas out of the picture. When EJ tries to back out of this suggestion, Stefano starts to hope that Elvis really isn't his son. When the doorbell starts to ring, Stefano calls Bart out to answer it.

As Bart opens the door while still finishing his pie, he's surprised to find Sami there, especially when she pulls a gun. She pushes Bart into the parlor, surprising EJ, but Stefano doesn't seem concerned. He wheels over by the window while she waves the gun, her father's gun. Stefano taunts her and demands that Bart disarm her. When he tries, she shoots him in the leg. As he drops to the floor, Sami circles around Stefano and levels the gun at his head. She wants justice: Two DiMera's for one Brady and she's starting with Stefano. He turns around to stare at her, all the while taunting EJ for letting her come after his father. EJ tells her that they can work all of this out and end the vendetta. 'I submit to no one,' Stefano says, standing up and pushing his chest against the gun. She wouldn't be the first Brady to commit murder. EJ tries to talk her down and asks her if she wants her children to be born in jail. 'Say goodbye Stefano,' she says, but before she can pull the trigger, Lucas jumps in and knocks the gun from her hands. As she begins to cry, Stefano sneers at his son and moves away. He orders his son to shoot them for invading the house and threatening them. EJ can't do it. He unloads the gun and yells at them to get out. Stefano is disgusted as Lucas and Marlena drag Sami away. After sending the bleeding Bart away to Dr. Rolf, Stefano tells EJ that he has cut the cord. 'May God have mercy on your soul, ' he declares. Outside, Marlena tries to comfort Sami, but she still wants to end everything tonight. Marlena gets a call: Roman's come out of surgery alright.
