Bonnie is left babysitting at Belle and Philip's. She's dancing and having a terrific time. The music is really blaring, when she receives a visitor! Kate bangs on the door, demanding to know what's going on, and why the music is so loud. She's incredulous as Bonnie explains that she's distracting herself from her problems by dancing. She turns the music off, and tells Kate that there is something that she needs to know. Before she tells the news, Bonnie offers Kate some scotch, reassuring the other woman that she'll need it, once she hears what Bonnie has to say. Bonnie comes clean, telling Kate that Belle is having Shawn's baby, and that Mimi's surrogate is having Philip's baby. She explains the whole mistake made by the hospital, and Kate is floored! Before Kate can even catch her breath, Bonnie goes on to explain how Phil totaled Max's car, and had to be fitted for a new prosthetic. Kate can't believe all that has happened and doesn't understand why she wasn't told. While they have a drink, they discuss how Belle is still in love with Shawn. Kate tells her 'This is war!', so she'd better make a pot of coffee, because they'll be there a long time, strategizing. The two discuss how they want the same things, which is basically their children's happiness. When Philip arrives home he wants to know why the two are there and where Belle is. They begin to tell him that she's at the hospital, and before they explain what happened, Phil rushes out to be with her.
Later, Bonnie and Kate are still trying to make sense about the hospital's error, when Kate wonders aloud if someone did it on purpose, to hurt their children.

Mimi breaks down, telling Belle and Shawn that she saw them kissing. She thinks it's time they were all honest about everything, and reveals that she read Belle's online diary and knows that she is still in love with Shawn. Belle is angered, by her admission, but Mimi doesn't care. She rants and raves, demanding Belle admits to her face that she is still in love with Shawn. Shawn tries to muzzle Mimi, explaining that he has concerns for Belle's health, but Mimi continues her rant. She wants an explanation, so Belle gives her one. She tells Mimi and Shawn that she is in love with Shawn and that she probably always will be! Upset that her suspicions have come true, Mimi becomes very sarcastic, asking Belle if she missed a few parts in her marriage vows, such as honoring and forsaking all others. She calms down enough to allow Belle to explain that at the time, when she wrote the entry in question, she had been on hormones and these hormones made her thoughts and feelings uncontrollable, so when she originally wrote that passage, she felt that it was not her true feelings, but just her being confused, due to these pregnancy hormones. Belle tells Mimi that she is committed to her marriage to Philip, but Mimi doesn't believe her. Belle and Shawn tell Mimi that they only kissed out of relief that her baby was fine, not love. Mimi starts to crack, telling Shawn that she wants to believe him, when Philip walks in. As he hugs Belle, he takes in the atmosphere, noticing how nervous they all look. He turns from Belle, to Shawn then to Mimi, asking them what's up.

At the Brady pub, Kayla is sitting at the bar, head in her hands, deep in thought. Stephanie joins her, feeling a little down, so the duo decide to drown their sorrows in cake! They agree that they are two girls, unlucky in love! They worry that Steve is out of their lives again, forever. Hearing Steve's favorite song playing on the radio reduces Kayla to tears. Stephanie felt a connection to her Dad, but the two agree that they will have to move on with their lives now. Stephanie tells her mother that she is going to keep her love for Max a secret for now. Kayla doesn't understand this, and can't help but wonder if it's meant to be, for Kayla and Max, or even for her and Steve. She wants them both to be happy, with or without a man in their lives. Kayla encourages Stephanie to now get some rest, and as she goes up to bed, Kayla listens to Steve's favorite song again. She notices something at the door, and opens it to find Steve!! Steve followed her back to Salem. He tells her that he still doesn't remember her or their life, but that she got to him, and when she was gone, he realised he wants her, and doesn't want to let her get away, and they kiss.

Della notices Steve drinking, at the bar. She tells him to go home, but he doesn't know where that is. She reminds him that he belongs in Cincinnati, and in her bed. He tells Della that it just doesn't feel real anymore and he misses Kayla, even though she has only been gone a few hours. Steve plays the same romantic song on the juke box, while Della is shocked at his actions! Della can't believe 'Nick' would listen to a song like the one he plays. She feels she has lost 'Nick', and to her chagrin, when he tries to talk to her, Steve accidentally calls her Kayla.

Carrie and Austin walk in on Sami and Lucas holding one another, in her living room. They can't speak, when asked where they've been. EJ comes in the door, as Austin explains that he was at the bakery. Carrie explains that she was on the balcony, and the fire escape. The group eats bagels, drink coffee, and discuss the different conversations that Americans have as opposed to Europeans. EJ tells everyone how romantic Paris is, and Lucas jumps on the idea of going to Paris soon. Sami and Austin jump on the bandwagon, saying they'd love advice on where to go on their honeymoon. Privately, Austin thanks EJ for not letting in on the fact that he saw Carrie and Austin making love on the roof. EJ explains that it was purely selfish on his part. Austin tells EJ that while he cares for Sami, he knows 'she's no Carrie'.
Carrie and Sami discuss motherhood, and Sami tells Carrie that since she is his Step-Mom now, he will need her. Sami comforts Carrie when she gets upset about not being able to have children.

In the living room, Austin and Carrie privately tell each other that they need to talk, while elsewhere, in the same room, Sami tells EJ that they're all going to be happy. She stares at her sparkly ring, telling EJ that she's not going to ruin her life by telling Austin about her mistake.
