This week gave us a lot of clues for a few storylines. Rafe’s getting closer to the truth, and could possibly be the one to figure out Nicole’s secret or at least a part of it. It seems to me that our dear Dr. Baker will be dearly departed Baker, soon, and I believe Justin wasn’t just brought back to Salem to get Daniel out of jail but to be a shoulder to cry on for Hope, as her marriage to Bo seems to be crumbling.
Bradianna:
Finding out beautiful Arianna’s a dealer or an undercover agent somehow has Bradianna not working for me.
A kidnapping we will go:
Where to start? Same soapy formula. The main guy, Dean, is a dirty cop, Brenda is the tough one and Kyle, Brenda’s brother is the softie with the low IQ. The characters are entertaining and the dialogue at the shed is amusing! I laugh where I’m sure I’m not supposed to laugh. It’s very campy. The thing is, I can’t help but be tired of the storylines involving hurting children. Bad enough we lost Zach, then Grace, but kidnapping Ciara is just too much. It’s too much in such a short time frame. Ciara’s kidnapping finally became real for me during Hope’s flashback to remembering Zach, and discussing his memory with Ciara and Bo. I felt a little cheated that they used Zach’s memory to get fans to care about a storyline that I wasn’t interested in. I’d have loved it if they’d have actually built a character driven storyline from Ciara, instead of from Zach, but it has worked for me anyway. I’m into the storyline more than I was.
People seem to be very angry with Bo this week. I’m not. In his shoes, if I saw Ciara being shot, I may have stopped the ransom drop as well. Those visions are not only very powerful, they’ve been partially true. Hope obviously doesn’t trust in them anymore, since he got it wrong that she and Roman would have an affair. That’s understandable and Hope wants to give the ransom to the kidnappers, get her daughter back and be done with it, but it doesn’t always turn out that way, does it? I’m not sure that they’re planning on letting Ciara go in exchange for the money. All that being said, next week I have a big problem with him when he goes live on television to offer a five million dollar reward for anyone who can help bring Ciara home – against Hope’s wishes!
Theo could be a key person in finding Ciara and getting her back to them. I really like how they’ve included him. I’d like to see Theo and Ciara grow up together and this gets them more involved in each other’s lives.

It’s unbecoming of a man of his stature and age to keep calling women tramps for no apparent reason. He always misuses the word. While I love Victor and the joking, this name-calling reverts his age to a 17 year old. I want to see a woman put him in his place for once. I thought the meeting between the Kiriakis’ and the DiMera’s was smart. If they hadn’t have done this, I’d have thought them barmy! Victor is great when he’s on your side!
Phelanie:
My heart broke for innocent (Surprised I said innocent? She is in regards to love!) Melanie this week after Philip had sex with her and dumped her for his precious Stephanie. Philly used her during a time of need. He was so wrapped up in himself, he can’t see that Melanie’s in love with him. Either that or he’s just a selfish SOB! Your thoughts? Melanie really showed us how deeply she cared but Philly didn’t notice how she practically melted into a puddle on the park bench Tuesday. Great acting by Molly!
So it's enough that Melanie and Philip went to that disgusting rodent-infested dive of a hotel room, then had sex on the -I'm sure- less than clean sheets, but they were taped! When I first learned this would happen, my reaction was shock and excitement because it's outside of the same old same old we're accustomed to. Should we assume though, that the tape will get into Stephanie's clutches, or will Creeper try to blackmail Philly?
Stephanie/Nathan:
Nathan got a taste of Philly’s fist this week and didn’t like it. He didn’t deserve to be hit. Obviously, Nate and Steph are interested in each other. They gaze at each other a lot. They’re both kind and good like Austin and Carrie and I’m not sure that I’m feeling them. I don’t mind so much since I like to see things go slowly anyway. Her chemistry with Philly was rocking when they first got together but then they became hum-drum, so if we take our time with Dr. Nate and Steph, it might work better in the long run. Unless he wants Melanie. Who can tell these days what he or Philly want. I don’t even think these two guys know. They’re alike in that respect. I’d run, but that’s just me. I like guys who know what they want. No games! But then, this is a soap and no games means no fun!
Kate:
Kate suddenly got more interesting to me. I think it’s hysterical the way she keeps getting hot for Daniel when he shows aggression toward her. It’s kind of sexy. He’ll use it against her – watch! But will she get hers when the truth comes out? I don't have much to say about Lucas this week but I'm a little worried about him and think he may fall off the wagon. The guy has cut himself off from his AA sponsor and his only friend his mum - and Sami, who has her own issues to deal with right now, with Rafe leaving her.
Rafe:
It’s kind of lame that Rafe would care about what Nicole had to do with Dr. Baker. Anybody else would have simply thought that she had the same doctor and left it at that. Why would he care? This baby switch storyline is so convoluted. He learned, from Sarah, who used to be one of Baker’s ex-nurses, that EJ and Sami were seen at the clinic but not Nicole.
Ejole and Daddy Stefano:
Nicole thinks she can take down Stefano. She threatened that she’s not going down alone, meaning he’s coming along for the ride if she’s found out, but would the Stefano we know let that happen? Likely he’ll try to falsify any DNA/genetic testing results before EJ gets a hold of them. And is EJ being completely paranoid to even get the testing or is he getting them because he wants to prepare himself in case anything should happen to Sydney?
Like Victor, Stefano took care of somebody in his family. Nicole. But what happens when her secret comes out? Will he still be there for her or sell her out in order to stay gold in EJ's eyes?
What were your thoughts of this week? I’d love to hear from you. Cheers to an amazing weekend, once again and a safe and healthy one! Don’t forget. We’re on Twitter! Follow us on Twitter @soapoperafan!
