Nicole/Ejole:
I realize James Scott is on holiday, but I wish it didn’t have to feel like it on the show. Scenes on Wednesday disturbed me. There is always a lack of EJ when he’s needed the most by his family. Nicole celebrated Sydney’s 6 month birthday alone with her kid. Nobody else. There was a sadness surrounding her when she wondered where EJ was. It turned out, he was at Grace’s gravesite, twisting the knife further. Like any good DiMera, he thrives on wallowing in grief and anger. I found the timeline went crazy fast. One minute he was at the grave, the next, he was at home, making an absolutely rude call to somebody to order a new one and then in a flash, he was back at the cemetery, digging out the old stone and replacing it with a new one. He’s irrational and though I understood that his anger drives him, he could have simply asked Sami to put his name on the stone. Did that make you smirk? Yeah, me too. I’m not sure she’d have agreed to it. Nicole has been slipping up. Her emotions get the better of her and EJ’s starting to realize she really is hiding something. So what I want to know is why does he truly care? I really do feel he still loves Sami and that all the talk about how Nicole and Sydney being his world is just talk. It falls flat, because we all know that they’re second best to Grace and Sami.
Stefano?:
He said goodbye to Meredith and told Nicole that their plan worked. Rafe and Sami would be broken up by the end of the day. Well he was right and Nicole doesn’t look too happy about it. I’m not, either. I’m not a fan of the boring Rafe, but he’s a good guy. I felt for Sami and for him – being manipulated by Stefano (he’s rather tame). I find myself wanting him to put a chip into somebody’s brain, only because his current plot isn’t doing much for me.

As I said, I am not happy that Nicole and Stefano have manipulated Safe. Feels dirty, but maybe a break for these two will make them more tolerable to me in the future. For a couple who have only known each other since October, they’ve sure gone through a world of trouble together. They must really love one another to keep coming back for more. Rafe was really sweet with Will to give him good advice about jealousy. He even made a funny. “Jealousy is a real killer,” he said. I laughed, of course, because of Kate and her jealousy and commitment to kill Chloe. I also realized that I like Rafe around Will, much more than I like him around Sami. Although he looks too much like one of my cousins for me to look at him with interest, he still has great muscles! See photo!
Maggie/Roman:
Salem’s advice dispensers. In addition to Rafe, these two gave sound advice to Melanie and Stephanie, respectively. I enjoyed both scenes, and look forward to more.
Wicked Witch of the West!:
Kate’s visit to Daniel’s cell confused me. I thought it was a dream. For one, she wandered right in there with no guard. The door was unlocked and when Kate kissed him, he kissed her back. What’s with soaps? If somebody I don’t like kisses me, I don’t kiss them for five seconds before pushing them away! Only on soaps! She didn’t admit anything, but we sure saw more into Kate’s mind than maybe some of you wanted to! Our classy Kate is into kinky good times. She likes it rough and Daniel must have been something special. I believe Kate did or does love Daniel and hoped for more for herself. I said this a few months ago but forgot about it. Still. This is her motivation? Can’t really be love, so he has bruised her ego pretty badly.
Kate told Hope that Daniel wasn’t obsessive with her when they dated and broke up and that she didn’t believe Chloe would come out of the coma. So she’s establishing something we know, which is that Daniel isn’t an obsessive person, according to Kate, and people who care about those in a coma usually show more hope than Kate. I hope Hope is paying close attention.
Joyce/Melanie/Philly/Nathan:
Joyce came on the show for all of five minutes but I liked her. She made me feel something. She made an impact on me this week, which is a surprise with a first appearance. The story didn’t really work for me. I’m not sure what the point of it all was, considering Stephanie is moving on, but otherwise, Philly doesn’t have much to do, I guess. Is this going to make him second guess his lifestyle again? At any rate, Joyce did a great job for a first timer. Maxine and Melanie interested me right away as well, and that’s a rarity. Speaking of Melanie, I noticed Melanie’s vulnerability and her expression when Philly had to fight off Joyce from beating him after she found out Carlos died. I just realized that Melanie is truly in love with Philly. Truly. I do think she likes Nathan, but she doesn’t have those explosive feelings she does for Phil. Sure, Stephanie and Nathan seem more alike, but how exciting could it be? Nathan’s ‘Mr. Serious’. Stephanie’s ‘Ms. Serious’. Nathan’s an intern and we all know that dating interns isn’t exactly a barrel of laughs. (Have you dated one?!) They’ve no time to have fun and are always called out of a theatre production, just as it’s getting good. Melanie knows Philly’s heart is still with Stephanie, so she’s trying to move on, trying not to play games. Well, she’s not perfect, so don’t expect a miracle! (That’s why we love her!)
Melanie bared her soul to Nathan, who didn’t say a single word the entire time, or even barely look at her! I didn’t appreciate it. He came off arrogant though I’m not sure that’s not what he intended. I didn’t even get the feeling he was listening, honestly. He just stared and stared and stared. If he didn’t tell her that his studies come first, and that she’s a distraction, I wouldn’t think he cared at all. From what we know about him, he’s a decent guy, so I believe he’s into her more than he cares to admit. Still, school should come first and Melanie’s heart belongs with Philly, anyway!
Bradianna:
She’s a drug dealer. No wonder she didn’t want to get involved with Brady. She’s a dealer with a conscience. I’m not sure how I feel about this. Dealing drugs at the Brady pub. It’s funny in a sad way. I found the scene at the park during the concert to be amusing. Classic soap. Something fell on her purse and knocked out the contents of said purse. She nearly bit Brady’s head off when he tried to help her clean it up, knowing he’d have seen the cocaine if he did. If that wasn’t enough, she spilled wine on her dress in order to leave her date early. I shook my head the entire scene. Aren’t there serviettes in the picnic basket? How obvious that she didn’t want to be there! Brady was confused, but it hasn’t deterred him.
Salem Youth:
So the games have begun. It’s Chad and Kinsey against Will and Mia and will likely play like an old episode of Three’s Company (Catch it on Deja TV! Hysterical show.) Will doesn’t like Jan Spears/Kinsey and this week, the writers are having us believe that Mia’s more into Will. Note the hand holding and kissing. I was glad to see both, considering it truly was needed in order for us to care whether or not we want to root for Will or Chad. Then why is it that I’m still undecided? These things take time, and we don’t see them on the show enough.
Chlucas:
Did they ever even have a mixed name? This week all Chloe did was whisper Daniel’s name. Not much else happened except Lucas decided she wasn’t worth forgiving. I can understand where he’s coming from, since she can’t even speak for herself about the affair. He has forgiven Sami for worse, so there is a possibility he’ll forgive her, eventually.
Theo news:
School year is coming up. Lexi and Abe, the show’s afterthought, are happy, yet torn to find out that Theo will be accepted into a regular public school. Does this mean Theo will be aged, or that we’ll see him in a school environment with Ciara and Tracy?
While watching Monday’s episode, I already have a better feeling about the coming week than I did for this past one. For more about what happens next week, feel free to check out some teasers. I’m out of here for the weekend, to enjoy a pool party in my backyard and good times on the Toronto Islands! Have a great weekend!
