Days of Our Lives - DAILY UPDATES

Max is accosted outside the bistro in France by acquaintances of Melanie's. Les wants to know why Max is looking for Mel, but Max doesn't want any trouble and he doesn't know where she is. Stephanie watches from nearby and Les demands that Max pay Mel's debt to him or else he may never see his girlfriend again. Max is angry. He's not Max's boyfriend and he's not giving them anything. Les threatens that Max had better find Mel before he does!

At Java Café, Trent leaves another message for Melanie, asking where she has been. He goes to Nick and fishes for information about Max and his whereabouts. Nick tells Trent he's out of town but he has no idea where he has gone. Max likes to travel often and visit his old racing friends. Nick asks why he cares. Trent tells Nick that Max is his son, though they don't want anyone to know. He has issues with Max that they need to resolve.

Sami searches for her cell phone at the mansion while EJ plays with Johnny and Allie. EJ asks Sami to play with them and she reluctantly agrees. Sami knows she hasn't been easy to deal with lately, and blames it on what's been happening with Lucas. "You think?" EJ says, sarcastically. Sami apologizes for this and EJ tells her he's not the easiest person to live with, either. Sami calls that an understatement and tells him she'd never take Johnny from him. He admits the three of them are the most important thing to him. He wouldn't know what to do without them. Sami wants to find a way to get along. EJ blames Lucas, which doesn't go over well with Sami. Lucas has a negative effect on both of them, EJ says. He becomes jealous around him and Sami's always trying to prove her worth to Lucas. Sami says Lucas isn't in this equation any longer, anyway, but when her cell phone rings and she finds it behind pillows on the sofa, Roman tells her to come to the hospital right away. Lucas is there and he'll explain when she arrives. Later, Sami heads out of the mansion and bumps into EJ. Things are very awkward when she tells him her father called and she needs to see Lucas in the hospital. EJ hopes everything is okay.

Outside Lucas's room, Nicole tells Chloe that Lucas will be fine, but Chloe is worried. He looks terrible. Nicole's surprised that Lucas is in maximum security. "That doesn't make sense."

In Lucas's hospital room, Roman asks Lucas what happened. In obvious pain, and looking like he has had a severe beating, Lucas shares, "I did what you asked and they almost killed me for it." He tells Roman his cover was broken. He got close to Manny Ortega, who was still trafficking drugs. He was talking to Manny about being moved to general population tomorrow but suddenly, he was jumped. He asks Roman if he has to go back to jail again. "You told me I'd be a free man." Chloe walks in. "You are?" Nicole tells him he looks like hell, and Roman allows Lucas to discuss things with the ladies while he leaves. Lucas lets them know he's being released from prison for making a deal with the feds. In exchange, the governor commuted his sentence. Nicole thinks Lucas is a great guy. She's happy he's going to be okay and tells him to rest up. She leaves Chloe with him and Chloe admits Nicole has been acting strange all day. "Did she suddenly grow a heart," Lucas asks. "The jury's still out on that," Chloe says. They admit they've been thinking of each other while he's been away.


Later, Chloe leaves Lucas with Roman and bumps into Nicole outside Lucas's door. Nicole tells her that Philip's doing fine and has a tip for Chloe. Turn around and walk away from Lucas as long as Sami's a part of his life! Chloe doesn't want to hear it. Nicole gets a call from Trent, who wants to know if she has found any information out about Max and why he's in France. She hasn't. "Work harder," he barks.


In Lucas's room, Lucas admits to Roman that he isn't sure where his home is, though he'll be let out in a few days. They discuss Sami and Lucas admits he loves her but doesn't answer when Roman asks if he wants to be with her.

Nicole goes to the mansion, to EJ for legal advice. EJ thought they were through. "We're through having sex but not working together." EJ asks what he can do for her and she notices he's upset. He must have learned that Lucas is out of prison. EJ admits he has and Nicole tells him what happened. She asks how to protect herself from a blackmailer - Trent Robbins. She confesses to him that they married when Trent was in college, working on his PhD. Trent was kind to her and considerate and she thought she loved him. They married six months later, and a lot of who she is today is due to how Trent treated her. "I'm sorry," says EJ. EJ doesn't think anyone will look down on her for being married to him, but Nicole says that's the problem. "I never filed for divorce. Trent and I are still married!" EJ asks, "Why didn't you tell me before, Trouble?" She didn't know, she claims. Nicole tells him Trent told her to do one thing that she regrets. "He forced me to stay away from you."

Sami arrives at the hospital in a panic. Roman leaves the two alone and Lucas tells Sami he's being released from prison for good. "I'm coming home," he says. Sami is stunned and cries as he explains he did this for the kids, not her. He admits he worked for the feds and his prison sentence was commuted. Sami is angered by this and he tells her he couldn't confide in her after what happened with Chloe. Sami wants to leave the past in the past but Lucas confesses he doesn’t know what he wants right now. Sami tries to get him to forgive and start over, but he can't do it. They have more downs than ups and he can't deal with it anymore. "I don't have the energy to go through it anymore." Sami asks if they're through. Lucas thinks he needs a few months to be alone for a while. He thinks she should, too. He begs her to leave him alone for a while. He needs to rest. Sami cries. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Just feel better." She leaves, sobbing.

At Java Café, Nick finds a video blog where his mystery girl talks about what's hot and what's not. He flashes to Max showing a photo of his half sister, Melanie Layton. "Oh my God!" He calls Stephanie, who runs into the bistro to take the call. Nick tells her Trent is looking for Max and told him that he's his father. He also knows how to find Melanie and tells her how. Stephanie tells Nick Melanie's a troublemaker, but they are cut off.

Chloe says, "Lucas, I feel responsible for what's happened to you." Lucas tells her she's not.

Phillip tells Bo, "Whatever happens, I got your back." Bo says, "I know you do. I meant what I said, too."

EJ tells Nicole that it means a lot to him that she told him the truth. Nicole replies, "The truth is, I hated pushing you away."
