Soaps.com just learned that Darin Brooks' "Blue Mountain State" has received pick up from Strike TV. " 'Blue Mountain State' contains four key ingredients to being a guy: football, partying, women and hazing," said Kevin Kay, president of the male-centric Spike TV. You'll be able to catch this comedy series premiering in summer of 2009!

Darin Brooks is going from serving drinks on Days of Our Lives to throwing passes on Spike TV, as he will be starring in the network’s recently greenlit pilot “Blue Mountain State”.

The half-hour comedy, which is said to be along the lines of “Animal House”, centers around three incoming freshmen who play college football at Blue Mountain State, while also juggling girls, classes and hazing. Darin will play Alex, a hotshot quarterback who is just as content to ride the bench and party with his friends.

The pilot, going into production in February, will be executive produced and directed by Brian Robbins (“Smallville”) and will also star Ed Marinaro (“Sisters”, “Hill Street Blues”), Chris Romano (“The Sarah Silverman Program”), Sam Jones III (“ER”), Gabrielle Dennis (“The Game”) and Alan Ritchson (“Smallville”).

Soaps.com congratulates Darin and wishes him success on his new project.

Update October 29 2009:

Darin's new series will premiere Tuesday January 12, 2010 at 10:00 PM on Spike TV. Catch the trailer on Spike TV.

I really hate to see Max leave the show, I think he's just as sweet and cute as they come; NOW, I sure hope that means Melanie will be leaving also; she is such a *&@#* and I would enjoy the show a whole lot more; I've watched this show since the very beginning and needless to say it has changed very much; there are two many evil women for one thing; one would be enough; it is so silly that EJay doesn't know that stupid Nichole is no longer expecting; I keep waiting for Dr. Baker to spill the beans.
