2008 Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards Coverage
|
Lauren Koslow (Christine Fix, Soaps.com)
Days of Our Lives fans have been complaining steadily that their favorite show was robbed again for not receiving a Daytime Emmy. While I commiserate and have faith that next year could be our year, I also wanted to share the fact that the show wasn't completely 'robbed'!
Shannon Burrell and I visited the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and are happy to announce that
Days of Our Lives tied for "Outstanding Achievement in Multiple Camera Editing For A Drama Series" with
One Life to Live.
Congratulations to
Days of Our Lives, Mason Dickson, Editor, Lugh Powers, Editor, Marius S. Darrow III, Editor, David Mawhinney, Editor.
While the amazing actors and actresses of
Days didn't win their own Emmy Awards, (but they deserved to!) they did win a few
Sudzies Awards. We found that the show does well in fan awards but not so well in the Emmys! Still, we are happy to announce the
Days winners of the Sudzies.
Bryan Dattilo (Lucas Roberts) won for "Best Supporting Actor in a Dramatic Series". I wish I'd had more time to chat with him, in order to share this news with him, on the Red Carpet.
James Scott (Christine Fix, Soaps.com)
The "Hottest Actor in a Dramatic Series" Award went to James Scott (EJ Wells) , and James Scott again won for "Best Fantasy Boyfriend in a Dramatic Series". I have to say ladies, that he's every bit as handsome in real life, so this award fits!
There was a tie for "Most Annoying Character in a Dramatic Series" between Willow Stark (Annie Burgstede) and
Guiding Light Doris Wolfe (Orlagh Cassidy )!
"Best Heroine in a Dramatic Series" Award went to Kristian Alfonso (Hope Brady). This ties into another award for best storyline below.
"Best Fight in a Dramatic Series" tied with
General Hospital's Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) & Lesley Lu Spencer (Julie Marie Berman) Slap fest at Kelly's diner, and
Days Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) Fight at University Hospital.
Voted the "Best Love Scene in a Dramatic Series" was Sami Brady-Roberts (Alison Sweeney) and Lucas Roberts (Bryan Dattilo). This should make all of you Lumi fans happy!
"Best Storyline in a Dramatic Series" Award went to the "Death of Zach Brady and the aftermath", which was a very heart wrenching storyline.
Congrats to
Days of Our Lives for their Creative Arts Award, and for the Sudzies Awards and good luck next year, in the Daytime Emmys!
