At the hospital, Daniel accuses Chelsea of doing exactly what he told her not to do. He lays a guilt trip on her and reminds her that all visitors have been barred from seeing Victor. Besides, he doesn't want her to get involved with whatever is going on between Victor, Philip and John. Victor's world is a dangerous place and he doesn't want her involved in it. She doesn't like him forbidding her to see her own grandfather. He repeats his warning and tells her he doesn't like her being disobedient.

Later, Kate arrives at the hospital and paces around, explaining what's happened to Philip to Chelsea. Daniel comes out and tells her that Philip is in recovery but has lost a lot of blood. They haven't given him a transfusion because they don't have the right kind of blood in the blood bank. Kate's not a match so she starts to panic. He promises that they'll find what they need. She keeps worrying. Daniel sends Chelsea to get some water. "This is getting to be too much," Kate says, listing all of the trouble with the men in her life. Daniel puts his arms around her. She wants to see Victor: Their son almost died today. Daniel bends the rules and lets her go in.

Back at the hospital, Daniel has to stop Bo from going in to see his father. Bo asks for an update on his brother, Daniel tells him he'll be okay. "I need to talk to Philip as soon as I can," Bo explains. Chelsea and Kate walk in. Kate begins defending her son. Daniel explains that both of the Kiriakis men will survive but are in rough condition. Kate and Chelsea will stay there all night. Hope hurries in and asks Bo how things are. He doesn't want to get into it with her. She apologizes for pushing him and promises that she will always been on his side. He appreciates it but has to do this on his own.

Daniel takes Chelsea out to the rooftop of his new apartment with his hand blindfolding her. He takes his hand from her eyes to unveil the view of Salem at night. She can see everything from there. They kiss. He wonders if he'll be allowed to sleep up there. She guesses he's made a commitment to stick around for awhile. "For a variety of reasons," he teases before saying the reason is her. She sits on his lap and suggests that Bo is beginning to accept them. They worry about the stress in the family but he tells her not to try and find out what's going on. He tells her that the guys will sort things out because "that's what guys do" and she should stay out of it. He repeats that it's his "intention" to stick around for awhile. He turns on some music and asks her to dance. After twirling her around, they sway and cling to each other.

Daniel walks into the pub and Chelsea pops up. He tells her she will rock the pediatrics department and helps her into a chair. She's had "an insane-crazy-busy day" and didn't even have time to see him. She gushes about the kids she's been dealing with and how much she appreciated working with them since she can't have any of her own. Chelsea says she's okay with this but still thinks about it. So does he; he still blames himself for it and wishes there was something he could do. "How are my Dad and Grandpa?" she asks. He says they're doing okay. She knows he's lying. He suggests her father is just stressed out; things are "a little more iffy" with Victor though. Daniel says that Philip and Bo just need to chill out and stop agitating their father. She decides it's time to go home for dinner and asks him along, promising that Bo and Hope will be cool. He sighs and agrees.

Daniel and Chelsea arrive. Chelsea plays with Ciara while Daniel and Bo try to be civil. Caroline tells them they missed dinner but she can heat up the leftovers. She tells Bo to fix them drinks while she gets dinner. As they sit at the table, they try making small talk. Bo soon walks out to make a call. Daniel announces that he needs to make a call as well. He follows Bo into the living room. Daniel tells him that he's not going to stand by and watch Bo undo what the hospital has done for he and Victor. Whatever is going on, they need to cool it. Meanwhile, Caroline and Chelsea wonder what the men are talking about. Chelsea walks in to the other room find out. Bo says her boyfriend is being overly concerned. Daniel says that they will be locking down Victor's room: Every time Bo or Philip go near him his blood pressure jumps. Caroline joins them and they sit around the living room. Chelsea starts to gab about her new job and how great a doctor Daniel is. He announces it's time for him to go look at an apartment and asks Chelsea if she'd like to come. She would and tells him she'll call for the address later. The doctor leaves and Bo goes up to see Ciara. "Do you know what's wrong with my dad?" she asks her grandma. Caroline imagines it's just Victor. They discuss the doctor. Chelsea's sure it is going well and hopes her dad will come around. Chelsea leaves and Bo comes down. Caroline tells him to give Daniel a chance. He shrugs and groans. A call comes in from Abe with news on the case.

Max text messages Stephanie, from the train, and tells her he wishes she could be there. Stephanie grins to herself. She has plans to meet him. Caroline asks Stephanie where Max is and Stephanie admits he's in France, and gives a worried Caroline the letter Max left for her. Caroline gets choked up as she reads how he needs to find Melanie but that she means everything to him. "I'll always be your son, Max."

Chelsea arrives and notices Caroline crying. Stephanie tells her that Gran is upset because she just read a letter from Max. Chelsea goes off to call Morgan, while Stephanie apologizes to Caroline for the letter. Caroline understands how Max must feel, but she will miss him. She leaves to see Victor.

Back at the pub, Morgan arrives and she and Chelsea give Stephanie a going away present. A tam, adapter for the outlets and a French to English translator. Stephanie is touched and will miss them! Nicole comes into the pub, looking for Max about a wine order. Stephanie tells her he's gone but she can talk to Caroline. Nicole refuses to bother Caroline with the order and says she'll return. The girls find this fishy. Stephanie, Chelsea and Morgan give a group hug and Stephanie leaves. Daniel arrives and Morgan makes herself scarce. Daniel relays news about Victor and then they start kissing.

At the hospital, Kate is glad Chelsea has Daniel to lean on. She can never find out what happened between us, because it would kill her. Chelsea listens. She comes to them and Daniel tells the two that Victor had a stroke and a top neurologist is involved. He's on a drug that they think will help, but it could go either way. When Daniel leaves, Chelsea asks Kate if she thinks of him so highly, why didn't she allow Daniel to operate on her? Kate claims he was too busy, but Chelsea doesn't believe this.

Daniel comes to Kate and Chelsea and tells them that though Victor's awake, he's not out of the woods. Kate asks to talk to Daniel. "About us." Later, Kate runs into Daniel again and she tells him she cares about him and doesn't usually sleep around. "Neither do I." Daniel flashes back to getting drunk at the pub and meeting Kate. He remembers that she helped him through a difficult time and he'll be grateful to her. Kate says it was fun for a while, but it needed to end. "Probably should never have started," admits Kate. They knew what they were getting into.
