Wrapped.

Melanie finds Stephanie at Titan, looking for Philip, and wonders if he ditched her, so soon after that lingering kiss at the party. Stephanie turns to Melanie with a frown and says she can’t believe she’s confiding in her, but admits she’s not yet over Max and alludes to her relationship with Philip being over already. Melanie’s shocked, and her expression causes Stephanie to double over with laughter. She made it all up. She says she knows that Melanie hates her and her with Philip, because she wants Philip for herself. She doesn’t think she’ll get by her to get to Philip. “I think you should settle in for a very cold, very lonely winter,” she advises. Melanie says Philip’s not as nice as her brother. He’s going to chew her up and spit her out. The two are interrupted when Philip calls, inviting Stephanie to the mansion. She leaves, gloating.

Melanie arrives at Chez Rouge and is surprised when Maggie asks her to be at Nick’s court appearance and sentencing. Melanie agrees to be there and Maggie asks Melanie to be good to herself. She’ll never be able to wrap Philip around her little finger. Melanie thinks about what Maggie says and is thankful for the advice. Maggie knows it’s hard to be alone. Melanie knows she’s getting herself into trouble by playing games and says her dad taught her to do this and then how to make nice, later, so she could get away with anything. Maggie, almost in tears, tells Melanie that’s terribly sad. Melanie says Philip’s nothing but trouble so she’s going to stay away from him. A call comes in and Maggie takes it as Melanie says, “Nick’s sentence hearing. That’s when I’m going to do it.”

Voicemail Hell.

At the New Year's Eve Party at Chez Rouge, Melanie walks in wearing a slinky dress. Philip is there, looking around and glancing at his watch. Melanie asks a surly Philip if he's lost his dance partner. Philip is unimpressed and wonders whether Melanie had something to do with it. The clock strikes midnight and Melanie wishes Philip a Happy New Year. She almost kisses him, but Stephanie walks in and finds them close, and quickly gets between them. Stephanie asks if she missed something between the two of them, and Philip says, "As a matter of fact… You did." Stephanie is taken aback, and asks if she missed Melanie kissing Philip. Philip sets the matter straight and says, "No, what you missed is this." He takes Stephanie in his arms and kisses her while Melanie watches. Stephanie looks at Melanie and whispers, "Happy New Year." Melanie glares daggers at her.


At another table at the party, Lucas meets with Kate, and tells her that he can't find Chloe, he's tried calling her and all he gets is her voicemail. He says he'll keep trying her. Kate wonders where Daniel is, as he's late too, and she calls him on his cell, only to get his voicemail. Maggie asks Lucas and Kate where Daniel and Chloe are, and they tell her that they don't know.

Philip and Stephanie walk out onto the pier, and Philip asks if Melanie got to Stephanie. She says that she didn't, and wonders why Philip didn't walk away when Melanie kissed him. He says that Melanie didn't kiss him, just whispered in his ear. Stephanie thinks that Philip kissing her was him trying to manipulate Melanie, but Philip says it was just a New Year's kiss. Stephanie says it was too passionate for just a New Year's kiss, and Philip agrees that maybe it felt like more. Stephanie says that she has a suggestion to clear up the misunderstanding… She says that he'll have to kiss her again. He says that he thinks he can handle that, and they kiss again.

Happy New Year!

Maggie greets Melanie at Chez Rouge and cautiously tells the bartender that Melanie is underage. As Maggie walks away a man at the bar tries to flirt with Melanie but she tells him she’s meeting someone there. Lucas, Stephanie, and Philip walk in as Lucas gets a call from Chloe. Melanie approaches them and wishes them a Happy New Year. Philip asks what she’s doing there and Melanie says she’s celebrating New Year’s with her friends. Stephanie jokes that they must be imaginary. Maggie shows Philip and Stephanie to their table as Julie approaches Melanie and asks about her project. Julie tells Melanie that she’s on to her. Lucas, Philip and Stephanie sit down and Philip asks Lucas where Chloe is but Lucas says he doesn’t know.

Kate arrives at Chez Rouge with Chelsea and Max. Max exchanges a smile with Stephanie at the table. Kate asks where Chloe is and Lucas says he doesn’t know. Kate makes a toast to health, peace, and happiness. Kate tells Philip to ask Stephanie to dance, and they get up as Chelsea asks Max if it was a bad idea to invite him. Philip and Stephanie dance as Melanie looks on. Max bumps into Melanie and wishes her a Happy New Year. Kate gets worried about Chloe’s absence as Maggie announces it’s almost time for the countdown. The guy from the bar spills his drink on Stephanie as Melanie looks on with a smirk. Stephanie goes to clean her dress as Melanie approaches Philip and asks if he lost his dance partner. Philip is not amused and tells her that was subtle. Max and Chelsea stand beside each other as Maggie counts down. They wish each other a Happy New year and kiss, while Melanie and Philip share an intense look.

A Woman Scorned!

At Titan, Melanie acquaints herself with Brady and suggests they have lunch together but Philip interrupts and says that Brady has other plans. Brady apologizes to Melanie and sarcastically remarks that he didn’t know he had other plans. Philip tells Melanie to take the rest of the day off but before she leaves, Melanie demands that she has a personal secretary. Philip gets annoyed but Brady steps in and diplomatically says that they still have yet to nail down the specifics of her contract. Philip sternly tells her that she’s not getting a secretary. With a flirty grin, Melanie tells them both that she will prove that she is an invaluable asset to this company and walks away. At the elevator, Melanie mischievously states that she will teach Philip a lesson.

Melanie walks into the pub and asks Stephanie for some help with her project. Stephanie refuses so Melanie sits at another table. Julie approaches her and asks her what’s shaking. Melanie tells her she’s busy getting work done, but Julie sits down and persists to tell Melanie about her visit with Nick in the prison. Melanie tells Julie that she’s been meaning to talk to him but Julie tells her not to. Julie asks Melanie how she likes her new secretarial job at Titan but Melanie tells her that she’s an executive now. Julie suggests that Melanie must feel like a kid in a candy store working with those two hunky dudes. Melanie reassures Julie that she is a professional. Meanwhile, Philip walks in and greets Stephanie with a kiss, as Melanie looks on. Philip asks Stephanie if she’d like to ring in the New Year with him and Stephanie accepts. They make plans for Maggie’s celebration at Chez Rouge. Still eavesdropping, Melanie excuses herself and tells Julie that she has to do some work at home. Julie wishes her luck because she will need it. Melanie leaves the pub and calls Maggie to tell her she’s coming to her New Year’s party after all.

You're Fired!

At the pub, Melanie asks Chelsea if she got everything she wanted. Chelsea says in a huff, "Not everything." Chelsea confronts her about insinuating to Stephanie that she and Max were an item. Melanie says she didn't think Stephanie would care, and she did notice a spark between them. Chelsea tells her to go to hell, but Melanie points out that they both need somebody! Chelsea tells Melanie she has no interest in discussing her life with her, and she and Max are only friends. Melanie taunts that she is lying to herself - but that's fine - Max could snag any number of hotties!

Philip and Brady arrive at Titan. Philip takes off to get some files and Melanie arrives. She gets Brady in her sights and sidles over, welcoming him to Titan. "I very much look forward to working with you." She invites him into her office to hear about the alternative fuel project, he goes with her. Philip comes out looking for Brady.
