When Nicole goes back outside and tells Trent that Max isn't there, he tells her to get back in there and find out where he is, but she refuses. Trent grabs her and threatens her, but she pushes him away and tells him never to touch her again. Trent asks if she'll sic her boy toy, EJ, on him and assumes she's falling for him. He warns her off him, but she blasts him to stay away from her, before leaving. Trent makes a call to Max. He's offended that Max went away and forgot to tell his old man. Max tells him, "Here's something else that will offend you." He hangs up on him!
Caroline brings Victor her famous apple pie, in the pub. They discuss Max, and Caroline's going to let the cards fall where they may, but she's not good at leaving things to chance. Neither is Victor. They hold hands and Caroline says she has burdened him enough.
Max tells Stephanie that Lucas was arrested. He thinks it's crazy that he was caught violating his conditions. They discuss how Caroline was encouraging of him to find Melanie and then he flashes back to trashing Trent's hotel room and finding Melanie's photo.
Max meets Trent, at a table nearby. Trent is surprised Max called. Max is tired of hating him. His anger builds when he remembers how Trent hurt his mother, and doesn't like how it's affecting his behavior. He asks Trent to come to an understanding. He gives the photo of Melanie back and asks that if they see each other around, they pretend the other does not exist. Trent doesn't think that will be a problem. He asks if Max will ever forgive him. Max won't, but at least he doesn't hate him anymore!
Inside the pub, Victor tells Caroline it's his pleasure to support her. He plans on celebrating after the signing of the divorce papers. He tells Caroline that he'd like her to join him in seeing a revival of Citizen Cane, at the retro theatre. Caroline smiles and giggles it's been a while since she has seen a movie. She'd love to go! Nicole and EJ interrupt and Nicole reminisces about meeting Victor and their relationship in the beginning. She flashes back to making love to him the first time, to their wedding, and the day Victor confronted her for trying to kill him! Caroline brings champagne, that Nicole requests and Victor adjusts his tie as Nicole makes a toast. "To happy endings and good health," Nicole says. Victor's sight is blurred and Nicole notices. "Victor, are you alright?"
Caroline and Stephanie work behind the bar, while Stephanie asks how Caroline feels about Victor's divorce. She wonders if it would be nice for her to go out with Victor, sometimes. Caroline becomes flustered and Stephanie says she doesn't want her to be alone. Caroline's not alone. "Grandpa was my partner and he's gone. My life is just fine," she says. They discuss Max and Caroline hopes Melanie is nothing like Trent! Caroline thinks that Max will need her support if the situation doesn't turn out well. She looks to Trent and Max as she talks. Stephanie won't let either of them down, she promises. Max finds Stephanie and tells her he's fine. He gave the photo back to Trent. Stephanie offers to help him find Melanie but he refuses her. They argue and he says he's not going to look for her. Stephanie finds it odd that he's suddenly changed his mind. She doesn't understand it but later tells him she supports him. Later, Stephanie leaves to visit her brother, and though Max was warned by Steve not to contact Melanie just yet, he decides to anyway.
Nearby, Trent listens to Nicole, EJ and Victor as they chat, laugh and drink their champagne.
EJ looks over the divorce papers as Nicole goes to Trent. EJ watches, puzzled by her behavior, and Nicole asks Trent if he is spying on her. He tells her he noticed she hasn't severed her relationship with EJ. She explains that he's her Lawyer. She tells him to stay out of her life, and goes back to her table.
Nearby, Caroline goes to Trent and tells him it's time he left! Trent will try not to bother them again and leaves. Victor and Nicole sign their divorce papers and say goodbye. Victor goes to the bar, while EJ wonders why Nicole isn't happier. She is, but when he asks to take her to lunch, she can't. He asks her to dinner to celebrate, but she won't. EJ doesn't understand why she's cutting him out of her life. EJ follows her out of the pub. He wants to know why she's pushing him away. She calls herself a selfish woman. She refuses to share her man and he's still in love with Sami. She storms off.
Victor tells Caroline that tomorrow, he'll be free from Nicole. They're celebrating Tuesday night, with a movie. Caroline says, "It's a date…" and Victor's vision goes blurry once again. He falls to the floor as Caroline yells his name.
EJ finds Nicole outside the pub. He's been looking for her everywhere and wants to talk about what happened in the elevator. Nicole brushes him off and tells him it was just sex. She turns to leave and EJ asks her not to pretend. Nicole grins and admits it wasn't just sex. EJ's not sure what last night meant but it was special for him. She comments it was for her, too, but her smile turns to a frown when Trent shows up. EJ introduces himself and when Trent finds out EJ is a lawyer; he explains that he could use a new lawyer. He tells EJ he and Nicole met when Trent was in school. Nicole and Trent make plans right now, to catch up and EJ asks Nicole to continue their conversation after she's through with Trent. He goes into the pub and Trent asks if EJ's more than just her lawyer. Nicole dances around the question and says she has had legal issues. She wants to know what Trent wants. He wants them to reconnect but she refuses. Trent tells her to stay away from EJ, immediately or she won't like the consequences.
Outside the pub, Nicole, is in tears when Trent asks, "So how'd it go?" She stalks off and Trent notices Max looking at him through the window. He sneers. Steve tells Max to be careful and says Stephanie's not to go with him.
Caroline leaves the pub and gives Trent his phone back. She says it was in lost and found. She tells him she knows who he is and she loves Max. "I will do anything to protect him," she says and threatens, "If you hurt him, you're going to have to answer to me!"
Later, Lexi and Theo come into the pub and greet Caroline. When Caroline asks what Theo wants, he counts up to four. The ladies frown, and during their meal, Theo throws his food to the floor.
Stephanie waits for Max to close the pub. They've still got power and Nick shows up to help Max. Max tells Nick that Trent has information that he wants and he needs Nick's help to get it. He thinks the girl in the photo is his sister and Trent won't tell him. Nick acts as devil's advocate and says maybe it's not his business. He's still digesting the fact that Trent's Max's father. Max reminds him that Shawn Brady was his father. Nick has a plan.
Nick meets Trent outside of the pub. Nick says his car broke down and he asks for a ride. Nick bumps into Trent on his way into the pub to get his things. "I'm so sorry," he says. Trent laughs it off and Nick takes Trent's cell phone from him, unnoticed and places it behind a pillar. After they leave, Max comes outside and grabs it, smiling.
Back at the pub, Max calls Trent abusive but Trent denies it. They threaten each other." I can trash your name, faster than you can say dead-beat-dad, but I won't, because of Shawn." Trent thinks he's being level headed. Max asks who the girl in the photo is. He won't tell him and taunts Max before he leaves. Stephanie bumps into him and after Trent leaves, she asks Max not to listen to him.
Nicole turns to alcohol to get her through the night. Trent remembers how good they were together but Nicole tells him he was good at twisting her mind and torturing her ego. Trent has nothing to hide. She asks how Max reacted to the news. "Did he spit on you?" Trent cares about his son and about Nicole, he says. Nicole rolls her eyes, "Please." She doesn't feel the same and tells him he nearly ruined her life. Trent thinks he took her in after her father drugged her and forced her to do porn. Nicole says he took her in until he found another ingénue. "If it wasn't for me, you'd be dead," he says through gritted teeth. Nicole is offended and tells him that he turned her into his 'it' girl to hang on his arm when he needed someone. He denies it but she asks why he dumped her when he had a celebrity status. She didn’t care if she lived or died at that point, she confesses, tears streaming down her face. She thought he loved her and that they'd be together forever, but he left her with nothing. Trent tells her they're all responsible for their own destiny. Trent has had enough and shows his true colors. He's disappointed in her and calls her a "Sniveling whining little ingrate who loves feeling sorry for herself." Nicole calls him a cruel unfeeling bastard who will do anything and hurt anyone to get to the top. Trent isn't worried and tells her that her secret will get out if she doesn’t keep her mouth shut.
