Two Sides To a Story!

Trent finds Steve at the pub and was sent to him by his friend Scott Pearson. He needs help finding a colleague of his. Steve asks a few fact finding questions and Trent asks him to find Nick Fallon. He lies that Nick left town without a leave of absence. Steve knows Nick, he admits. Trent lies that Nick's in the middle of grant work and it's not like him to leave without proper notice or ignore his phone calls. He thinks he's in Europe. Steve appears suspicious but takes the job. He gets $250 per day, plus expenses. He takes a check from Trent, "As long as I can't play handball with it!" Trent says his friend Scott mentioned that Steve had a daughter, Stephanie. Steve looks suspicious, once again. Steve tells Trent that he doesn't want his daughter dating Max. Trent fishes for more information. "I haven't seen them either. Are they away, too?" Steve asks, "Too?" Trent figures since they're friends, they may know where Nick is. He leaves Steve with a business card and Caroline comes by. "What did he want," she says, angrily. Steve tells her what happened and Steve plans on keeping an eye on Trent. He's sure that Trent is dying to find out if Max found Melanie.

Nick gets a call from Trent, while he's at the bistro in Marseilles. Trent asks why he backed out of their meeting. Nick had a family emergency. He'll be back in a few weeks. Trent asks if he can overnight a few documents about Nick's prototype to him. Nick grimaces. "That's not necessary." He gets out of giving away his whereabouts by telling Trent that the owner of the restaurant he is in is giving him dirty looks for being on his cell phone. He hangs up, leaving Trent frustrated! Trent calls Melanie, from outside the pub. He leaves a message for her to call him as soon as possible. He then talks to someone about Max finding Melanie. It's a disaster, but he's taking care of it.

48 Hours

Caroline finds Chelsea at a table at the pub. Bo has told Caroline that Chelsea's doing well at work and will become a licensed therapist. She has found her calling! Caroline goes to get Chelsea a coffee and Victor shows up with Henderson. Victor's doing well, he says and they go take a seat.

Caroline goes to Victor. She wants him to leave the pub! He's not welcomed there anymore! Henderson goes off to wait in the car while Victor tries to find out what's going on. Caroline thinks Victor put their son at a terrible risk. Victor admits he knew more than he let on at the church and tells her the evidence had to do with Philip and how it cast suspicion on him for something he didn't do. It's destroyed, he says, much to Caroline's shock and anger. She thinks Victor manipulated Bo, and can't forgive him for this. She knows Bo saw Victor weakened in a hospital bed, but Victor wanted to protect Philip. "If I had to do it over…" Caroline stops him. She knows he wouldn't change a thing. Victor apologizes, he shouldn't have come. Caroline starts to cry. She realizes Victor's his own man and she can't change him. She draws the line at him dragging Bo down with him. They're interrupted by a phone call from Max. Caroline tells Victor to get out, while she takes the call.

Nearby, Nicole sits with Trent. She's annoyed again that he threatens to go to Victor with news that they were never married. Nicole's tired of the threats. Maybe they should both talk to Victor, then he wouldn't have anything over her! Trent's phone rings and he asks someone how "she" could max that card out. He tells the person to pay off the card and cancel it, then hangs up. He needs a drink! Nicole asks if his daughter Melanie maxed out his cards. "A girl after my own heart," Nicole says and thinks it looks like she'll be picking up the tab.

Caroline talks to Max on the phone while Trent listens nearby. Max tells her Nick is in Paris with her and asks her not to tell Trent that they're there. She agrees and they send their love to each other and hang up.

Look Who I Bumped Into!

Trent and Nicole sit together at Java Café. Trent wants to know what's up with Nicole. She tells him to go to hell and he demands respect. She would have gotten a divorce from him if she had known he wouldn't. Trent taunts her and says she couldn't take care of herself back then and isn't doing much better now. Nicole gets up to leave but Trent threatens to tell Victor the truth, if she doesn't do him one more favor! "I'll do it!" He tells her that Max has come into contact with a young woman named Melanie. Nicole wants to know who she is. "Wife, mistress, another student?" Trent doesn't want to say, but finally admits she's his daughter. "You've got kids popping up all over the place," she laughs. Trent wants this kept confidential. He wants to know if Melanie ran into Max. He wants to keep them apart. Nicole thinks Max is a good guy and assumes he'll tell Melanie what an SOB Trent really is!

I Will Have My Revenge.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Nicole bumps into Trent. She's unhappy to see him and he tells her he's on the faculty student health care committee. They're meeting there and he wants to know if she found out why Max is in France. She hasn't yet and asks for patience. Trent threatens to tell Victor about their marriage. He has known about their marriage since day one and was sitting on the information. Nicole is shaken, and calls him a bastard. EJ interrupts and Nicole is happy to see him. EJ takes her aside and tells her he got the information she needed from Stephanie. He says Stephanie and Max are in France, hanging out with old racing buddies. They act as though it's all business and then EJ leaves Nicole and Trent. Nicole turns to Trent and asks if he's satisfied. "For the moment," he says, and then leaves.

Trent and I are still married!

At Java Café, Trent leaves another message for Melanie, asking where she has been. He goes to Nick and fishes for information about Max and his whereabouts. Nick tells Trent he's out of town but he has no idea where he has gone. Max likes to travel often and visit his old racing friends. Nick asks why he cares. Trent tells Nick that Max is his son, though they don't want anyone to know. He has issues with Max that they need to resolve.

Hot Lips.

Nicole arrives at Java Café with Pookie. Evan tells her she can't bring dogs in the coffee house, but she denies that he's there. She tells Pookie that Evan's a cat person, and Pookie barks quietly. Some young girl comes into the café, and Nicole overhears her telling a friend that her new beau is very sweet and even opened the door for her. Nicole mopes. Marlena wanders in for a coffee and makes idle chit chat with Evan. He's going on holiday to Colorado, he says. Trent butts in front of the young woman and this irks Marlena, who tells him how rude he is. They argue about common courtesy. Nicole listens from her table, laughing. Marlena goes to Evan and they agree that Trent has an inflated ego.

EJ arrives. "Hi trouble," EJ says to Nicole and when he asks if he can join her, she looks at Trent and refuses, then reconsiders. They discuss Sami. He tells her he and Samantha are through, but she doesn't believe it. How he can turn his feelings off so suddenly? He tells her she seems to have! She tells him she really likes EJ but can't continue on this path. EJ thinks that his feelings for her mirror his. He's only asking for her to give them a chance. She won't compete with Sami. He tells her he's a real ladies man, but he has no interest in anyone else. He's been in a relationship that's going nowhere for two years and it's Nicole who has turned his eye. She still can't see him, she apologizes.

Nick arrives at Java Café and Trent's happy to see him. They sit and discuss school, and Trent tells Nick there is more to life than nuclear physics. Trent wants to rent the Brady pub for a going away party for Professor Fergus. Could Nick put in a good word for him with Max? Nick pauses… Trent should talk to Caroline - not Max! Trent thanks him and goes to Nicole and EJ's table and mentions how they spend an awful lot of time together. "He is my lawyer," says Nicole. EJ leaves and Trent starts his usual threats. Why was EJ holding her hand, he wonders? Nicole denies he was and tells him to go to hell. She's sick of his control and manipulations. She's putting her foot down! He thinks she brings it on herself by the way she dresses and flirts. His manipulations don't affect Nicole. She gets up and leaves the table and Evan goes to her to see if she's all right. Evan detests Trent and offers to kick him out.


Marlena goes to EJ and tells EJ he stepped way over the line by threatening to take her daughter's son away from her. EJ comments that Sami would have done the same. Marlena is angry that she defended him. He's still Stefano's son. She knows he bribed the judge. EJ retorts that Sami's done worse, but Marlena's not so sure. She accuses him of manipulating everyone. Marlena admits she talked to immigration. Mr. Burke will be out of a job! She thinks he should be behind bars and is angry with EJ for playing games with them after all they've done for him. "This isn't over EJ. Not by a long shot," she promises. EJ won't apologize. Marlena asks if he's still in love with Sami. All he says is that she's the mother of his son. EJ says that though he was honest with Sami regarding Mr. Burke, it backfired. Marlena laughs at this and EJ says no matter what his feelings for Samantha are, they're not reciprocated, so he's moving on.

Inside Java Café, Trent looks over Nick's shoulder while he finds photos of Max on the internet. Trent's eyes widen in shock as he realizes Max is in France. He stops Nicole, who is leaving the café, and demands her to do dirty work for him to find out why his son is in France. When she refuses, he tries his threats and reminds her that they're still very much married, whether she likes it or not.


Back inside Java Café, Nick finds a photo of party girl, Melanie Layton, though they don't realize it. He and Evan think she's hot. Nick wonders where he has seen her before!

The Trifecta.

EJ shows up at the pub and bumps into Trent. "It's Brent, right?" Trent clarifies his name and EJ fishes for how he knows Nicole. Trent emphasizes how he and Nicole are very close friends. Nicole shows up for a lunch date with Trent and wants to rush inside, but EJ pulls her aside and asks what's going on. Nicole acts like everything is fine but EJ tells her he doesn't like the way Trent treats her. Trent tells EJ to back off.

Caroline comes out of the pub and points at Trent. "This is all your fault!" she storms off. Trent is confused, "What was that about?" EJ grins. "She said she wasn't one of your biggest fans. I wonder why that could be?" He tells Trent he'll keep an eye on him and leaves. Trent doesn't trust EJ and Nicole remarks the feeling is mutual. Trent asks Nicole to spy for him.
