I Don't Do Weenies!

A little party is underway at DiMera mansion with EJ, Nicole and Ava. Rolf serves them and there's a pianist playing. EJ tells the ladies he'd prefer to have an All American barbeque with weenies and hamburgers. "I don't do…. Weenies," says Rolf, with distain. The power flickers and EJ assumes the city's power grid is overloaded, due to the heat wave. He takes a call and leaves the ladies alone. Nicole admits that her feelings for EJ are hopeless but Ava disagrees. Nicole shares that EJ has a chance with Sami now, because she admitted to having feelings for him. Nicole's not a quitter but she doesn't need the heartache. Ava goes off to find John. The lights flicker as John heads down the stairs to get the door. Marlena comes in and asks if he has come to his senses. John says they've been through this and Marlena apologizes for letting her anger get the better of her. She doesn't get how he refuses to get his 'self' back. John says the man she loves is dead and gone and she needs to accept that. Ava listens from the other room. Marlena doesn't think he has a way of knowing and wants her husband back. She asks for the disc, to keep it safe, in case he changes his mind, but he refuses.

EJ tells his client to enjoy their holiday. He assures them that their court order will be in right after the holiday and makes a quick call to Sami, leaving her a message that he was happy about their talk and hopes to see her later. Lucas listens in.

EJ returns to the great room from his call and apologizes for upsetting Nicole, but needs to be honest with her. Nicole wishes him luck, but doesn't think that Sami will leave Lucas. They bet on it and Nicole says Sami will never admit to loving EJ and will never dump Lucas for EJ. EJ's annoyed that she could be right but he tells her that Sami's resolve is already starting to crack. John returns and wonders where Ava is.

In the lab, the lights flicker again and Ava takes the disc from the lab.

Rolf runs to the great room to tell John that someone has entered the lab.

John finds Ava in his lab and asks why she's there. The power outage locks the lab door and John can't override the locks. Ava admits she overheard Marlena and was worried she'd lose him.

Marlena finds her way to the lab and listens into Ava and John's conversation when she can't open the door. She hears Ava tell John to destroy the disc and yells at him not to. John starts throwing things around in his anger over Stefano.

Think we can destroy the Death Star?

At the DiMera mansion, EJ comes down to get the babies a bottle and interrupts John and Ava. John wants to know when EJ's going to stop this charade marriage and stop lying to Samantha. He's been lying to her for weeks now. Sami comes into the room and asks if that's true. Sami says Johnny fell asleep and want to know if they're no longer married. John says Nicole seems to think that. Sami thinks it's a lie until she sees EJ's face. "I'm so stupid," Sami yells and is angry that John knew this whole time. It wasn't his place, says John. Sami forgets that John's not the same man and John tells EJ he's curious to see how he'll handle this. He and Ava leave the two alone. EJ says he'd have kept it from her for as long as possible to keep his family together. By lying, Sami wonders. EJ says he's not sorry! He tells her he was a husband and a family to her, but Sami says that they need to love each other for that to be true. "My sentiments exactly," EJ says. Sami reminds him that he blackmailed her into marriage and tricked her into thinking they were still married. "For all I know, Mr. Burke was a scheme!" EJ says, "Matter of fact, it was." EJ tells her that his visa was up but due to the USA being his birth place, it was determined that he could get dual citizenship. He paid off Burke to play along, just so they could be married. An angry Sami calls him a bastard! She'll never forgive him, she says but EJ thinks it's a double standard. People have forgiven her, he reminds her and says her behavior is ludicrous. She reminds him she has forgiven him for plenty and is lucky to have Lucas teach her about honesty and openness with the one you love. She calls him the same evil, manipulative jerk he has always been. She can't trust him again. EJ says that's how Lucas feels. Sami rips off her ring. "Don't… don't…" begs EJ. He thinks she's lying to him and to herself about her feelings for him. He throws the ring. It's not about a ring, it's about them being married and he thinks a part of her still wants to be married to him. She can't admit it. She can't deny it! He begs her to be honest with herself. "Oh God… you know I do," she says, breathlessly, then races up the stairs.

John and Ava head to the lab, downstairs of the mansion. Ava is stunned by the lights and equipment. "The only thing missing in here is Han Solo," She says, wielding an imaginary light saber. She asks, "Think we can destroy the Death Star?" John doesn’t want her to press any buttons. They don't know what they're dealing with. He flashes back to being held there. He takes the disc out and wonders if they can look at it! Ava's afraid, but John's curiosity gets the better of him. He pops the disc in and remembers Stefano talking to him. "I remember," he exclaims, with tears in his eyes. He remembers Stefano and wants to learn more, but Ava worries it'll fry his brain. She wants him to break the disc and asks if he wants to see what's on the disc because of Marlena. Partly, he says. Ava likes the new John. He admits he's all he has ever known. He says he's happy as is, so she urges him to leave the past behind. John locks the disc in a drawer. They kiss.

Goodnight Moon!

At the DiMera mansion, Marlena and John argue about using the disc. Marlena calls Rolf and says they need to get to the lab and figure out what's on the disc. The doorbell rings and John excuses himself. He returns with Ava. Marlena isn't impressed and Ava turns to go, but John tells her, "No, I want you to stay." John wants Ava to weigh in on their discussion, though Marlena is unhappy with this. She doesn't want him to trivialize this by having a stranger here. Ava wants to leave, but John tells her to stay. Marlena finds what he's doing to be self-destructive. She asks that he take the disc seriously and Ava turns to leave. John tells her they're through talking and says it's amazing how one little disc can cause all this commotion. Ava thinks he should look into the disc and unlock the doors to himself. He's sure blondie would like it but he's not interested. Marlena has had enough and turns to leave. She hopes he comes to his senses and says the man he was is the only man worth being. She leaves and John is frustrated. Ava comes to John and he tells her he knows who he is now and what he wants. He kisses Ava. Ava thinks this feels right, but John stops things. He can't get his mind off the disc and hasn't made up his mind about what to do with it. She understands, but tells him to destroy the disc. He won't and needs to know. He's going to the lab to figure it out. She offers to go with him.

Dormant Brain Wave Patterns on Disk!

At the gym, Nicole sits with Ava. They spot E.J. who has just walked in. They discuss how hot he is and Ava encourages her in his direction, saying that his body language is saying he's attracted to Nicole! Just then, John and Sami walk in. Grinning, John draws Sami's attention to E.J. She says she has lost her appetite. Ava comes over to greet John, and he tells her that he is just about to grab a bite with his soon to be ex-daughter-in-law! Sami is taken by surprise to hear that he and Marlena might be divorcing. She leaves, and Ava invites John to join her at the table. Sami stops on her way out long enough to corral E.J. and tell him that he is being selfish by staying at the DiMera Mansion. She urges him to do the decent thing and move out. He says, "No. I'm not moving out!" As E.J. leaves, Sami approaches Nicole and asks her to help convince E.J. to move out. Nicole winds up confessing that her and E.J. came thisclose to having sex! Sami stalks off and Nicole returns to Ava's table, telling her she told Sami about her and E.J. She tells Ava she doesn't know what to do! Ava says they should ask John! They approach him and Ava says Nicole needs his advice. He congratulates Nicole on her gold-digging and she thanks him. She then blurts to John that E.J. lied to Sami and they are not married anymore - the annulment is valid! John asks what she wants him to do with this information, but Nicole says she doesn't care - it's off her conscience now!

A Tall Glass of Wrong!

At the DiMera Mansion, Ava tells John that she helped him because he's her friend and he needed protecting. As they share a toast, E.J. slams into the house hollering, "Lucas?!" John asks for some privacy, but E.J., in a slightly manic way, tells them he is having a rather bad day. Apparently, Lucas is in and he is out! As he explains how much Sami infuriates him, Lucas comes up from behind him and says, "I know how you feel!" E.J. rounds on him and informs him that he has no idea how he feels! John says that E.J. will be the one to stay - if he wants to. Just then, Nicole comes in and asks to speak to Ava alone. They leave and John warns E.J. and Lucas to keep their argument low-key. Lucas tries to be friendly, but E.J. is having none of it. E.J. asks him if he is not still in love with Sami and dreaming about taking her and his daughter away to live happily ever after. Lucas says that first of all he is trapped there, and secondly, he can't get over Sami sleeping with E.J.! Lucas then admits that Sami confessed to being confused about her feelings for E.J.! As the banter continues, Lucas taunts E.J. about his things being packed in suitcases upstairs, and E.J. tells him that he isn't going anywhere! As he leaves the room, Lucas grins!

Nicole and Ava come into the Brady Pub and spot Hope and Marlena at a table. Ava goes over and says hello. Marlena asks what they can do for her. Ava says she realizes that she is not Hope's favorite person, but is trying to turn her life around. When Ava refers to John as her friend, Marlena stands up and gets in her face. Hope accuses Ava of deliberately trying to bait Marlena and Ava beats a hasty retreat over to the waiting Nicole. She asks Nicole what is wrong with her. Nicole says her past has once again come back to haunt her! She says when she was young, and stupid, and lost, she made a mistake with someone - and now he's back in Salem! Ava asks Nicole if this man hurt her. Nicole begins to cry and Ava muses, "This guy's got a hold on you, huh?" Nicole admits that he does. Ava says she has resources if Nicole needs them. Nicole thanks her and leaves. Over at the other table, Marlena tells Hope she wishes there was some way to reach John. Hope encourages her to reach out one more time and pressure John to back off the Kiriakis family. Just then, John comes in, and Hope tells her, "Here's your chance!" Marlena approaches John and asks him to join her for dinner. He says he has finally got tired of being compared to a guy who doesn't exist anymore - he can't accept her invitation. Marlena says she understands his frustration, but John says he's not frustrated anymore - he's moved on! With that, he collects Ava and they leave together! Marlena is stunned!

Break and Enter!

Chloe, still visiting Lucas, asks if he is expecting her to keep the secret that he broke his house arrest. When he pressures her for an answer, she says he's a friend and she won't turn him in. Lucas thanks her and she notes that she knows what it is like to be in trouble with the law - especially when you've really done nothing wrong. He explains that he was just getting stir crazy. She tells him not to risk it again. He shares with Chloe the ultimatum he gave Sami. Chloe says Sami is a fool if she lets Lucas go. Lucas smiles and asks what is going on with Phillip. Chloe says that Phillip told her he had nothing to do with the drug situation. Just then, John comes in and blurts out that she shouldn't believe it! As Chloe quickly leaves, John asks if something is going on between Lucas and Chloe. Lucas rolls his eyes and says he is going to check on the twins. John calls Ava and says he's decided to take her up on her offer! Ava arrives very soon, and calls Angelo, asking him to pick up Paul Hollingsworth and bring him to the DiMera mansion immediately! She hangs up and tells John they'll get the truth now! John says, "I knew there was a reason I liked you." He admits to Ava that he bribed Paul Hollingsworth, and it seems he betrayed him. Ava says in her family that is frowned upon. John says that Kiriakis then upped the ante by planting the drugs and torching the ship. Ava says if that's the case, then they'll have to get him back! As John and Ava wait, he wonders if they should stay out of each other's way, as her father and Stefano did, but Ava suggests that they combine forces instead! John says he'll think about it. Just then, Ava's cousins come in with Paul and John confronts him and demands the truth. Ava's cousins threaten Paul if he doesn't talk. He denies John's accusations that he went over to Kiriakis's side. Angelo starts hitting him and pulls out a gun. Lucas creeps down the stairs. Just as Angelo is about to fire the gun, John orders them to stop and throw him back on the street to think about things. Ava nods at Angelo. As the cousins file out with Paul, Lucas stands on the stairs and flashes back to his run-in with Paul on the docks!
