Dragged from the River.

Kate breakfasts with Martino at the pub. Kate says, "I have to say you've changed a bit." Martino is positive it's because of her. Suddenly, Dr. Daniel rushes into the pub looking confused and is ushered over to Martino and Kate's table, where he angrily explains that he was paged moments before he was to take his flight on the premise that he had to consult with a colleague. A sheepish Martino admits that he was paged to do a consult with him about his daughter. Daniel snorts and Kate comes to Martino's defense. She says she suggested Daniel would be the person to talk to but after Martino explains the situation with Ava, Daniel says Ava needs a psychiatrist, not him, and he storms out, with Kate on his heels.

Kate finds Daniel and asks him to reconsider taking Ava's case. She tells Daniel the man loves his daughter. Daniel doesn't trust him and doesn't want him around his colleges or anyone else he cares about. "That includes you." He tells her if she's around him, chances are that Chelsea will be around him. Kate realizes Daniel cares for Chelsea and asks if that's why he's running out. Daniel denies it.


Kate returns to her table at the pub and Martino asks if she'd like to have dinner with him. She asks, "Just dinner?" He counters, "Was it ever just dinner?" Kate thinks that some things are better left in the past and she says these days she likes to get to know a man before they're intimate! She asks after Ava but Martino doesn't know where to begin.

Back at the Brady home, Chelsea tells Morgan she's trying not to keep thinking about the future but wonders how long she should wait to tell a guy that she can't have kids. Morgan lightens up Chelsea's mood with jokes and when Nick arrives, Morgan leaves for work. Nick asks how Chelsea's feeling today and she tells him she's better. Nick nods and from the door we hear, "Glad to hear it!" Daniel stands at the opened front door. Chelsea tells Nick that she and Daniel were supposed to have a final examination before he left town and rushes Nick out the door, asking him to call later. Daniel shakes his head while she does it and he says he's there to tell her he was asked to stay and consult on another case, but it all depends on her. He says he really didn't want to leave Salem, or her. He tells her this is wrong and it has to stop because she's his patient. Chelsea tells him to stop pushing her away and when he tells her he's not, she grabs his face and kisses him, passionately.

What Kind of Life is That?

At the hospital, Lexi talks to Daniel and asks if he's leaving Salem to catch a wave or to get away from his feelings for Chelsea. Daniel gets a private call, but the caller (Chelsea) hangs up after hearing his voice. Lexi asks Daniel to stay in Salem.

After Stephanie leaves, Daniel arrives. He tells her he's making one last house-call before he leaves Salem. She tells him Bo and Hope are resting and comments that he seems to run away from establishing roots anywhere. "What kind of life is that?" She wants to know and lets him know that he's thought of in the highest regard. When he asks what she thinks, she says, "Do you even have to ask?" An uncomfortable silence ensues and Daniel has to go. He heads toward the door but turns around and takes Chelsea in his arms and kisses her passionately!

Take Care of Them, Daddy. Kill Them. Kill Them all…

On their way out of the hospital, Chelsea daydreams that Dr. Daniel has apologized for taking himself off her case. She asks if he's still going to be her doctor but he says he wants to be more than her doctor and he professes to love her… until Hope wakes her.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Bo is happy to hear from Daniel that Chelsea's test results are clear and the infection is gone. Bo says it's a shame that things aren't perfect.

At the hospital, when Hope asks if Dr. Daniel has after care instructions for Chelsea, he tells Hope he's not Chelsea's doctor anymore, but plays it down. Hope is puzzled he tells Hope that Chelsea is remarkable. She asks him if he always compliments his patients like this! Steve interrupts the two. He's off to see Ava.

Lexi arrives at the hospital and takes Chelsea to put a rush on her prescription. Later, she wheels Chelsea to Hope and Bo and before they leave, Dr. Daniel says goodbye. Chelsea gives him the cold shoulder but thanks him for all he has done and Daniel says just because he's not her doctor anymore, doesn't mean they can't be friends. Chelsea doesn't answer and they leave. After they go, Lexi overhears Daniel say, "I can't. I can't let it happen…."

Back at the hospital, Lexi asks Dr. Daniel if he wants to talk. He refuses. He plans on taking the rest of the day off and then he hesitates momentarily and lets Lexi know that his work at University Hospital is done. He's leaving town! Later, Daniel sits at the pub and makes flight and hotel arrangements to go to Sydney Australia.

Tony Wants to Make Kate the next Martha Stewart?

Kate finds Dr. Dan at the pub drinking. She asks if he should be monitoring Chelsea but he tells her he's not on call and is no longer on Chelsea's case.
