Nicole's Film Noir.

A be-speckled Chloe sits at a table at Club Marlow. A slick looking Philip comes to her, all suited up; smoking a cigarette and notices she's been staring into space for the last while. He offers to help her.

Hair and make-up fixed, and wearing an elegant dress, Chloe sings what sounds like a Billie Holliday song to a packed club. EJ shows up and is interested in her, but Philip tells him she's taken, only she doesn't know it yet. EJ thinks she is fair game.

Chloe arrives at Lucas's office, decked out in classy clothes, without her glasses. He's intrigued by her change and apologizes that he can't pay her. She wants to lend him money since he's been so good to her in the past, but he refuses and asks if she's doing something naughty for the money. Her eyes widen. She's not, and only has eyes for one man. "Some PI!" Lucas leans in for a lingering kiss! He'd pay to be with her, but it's illegal, and he's married. He'd never cheat. "Sami can," Chloe says, and tells him Sami could never love him the way she does. Nicole arrives. "How cozy!" Lucas starts to introduce Chloe, but Nicole's got business on the mind. "He's the private dick, I'm the client, and you're just in the way." Chloe is upset, but Nicole tells her not to worry. She's not the competition. Chloe's got to get back to work. Lucas asks how he can get in touch with her. "You can whistle. You know how to whistle, don’t you?" He answers, "No, I never learned." Nicole tells him, "You just put your lips together," and she turns to Chloe, and says, "and blow!" Chloe gets the hint and leaves.

Sami and EJ arrive at Club Merlowe. She coos over her new mink. Philip interrupts, asking if they'd like a table, or a bed. Sami giggles like a school girl and runs off to the powder room while Philip tells Junior to watch out, or his two-timing will be the death of him.

Nicole and Lucas arrive at the club and spy Sami giggling and snuggling up to EJ. Nicole is hurt. Lucas hears Chloe singing.

Chloe sits moping at Club Marlowe. Philip tells her to forget him. He knows one guy who would do anything for her if he'd only give her a chance. He kisses her, tenderly.

I'll Scratch Your Eyes Out!

A nurse tells Chloe and Lucas that the entire floor is on lock down. She'll go check on things. Lucas starts to feel the effects of the vapor and looks at the vent. Chloe follows his gaze and becomes concerned. Lucas gets out of bed and they notice the cell phones don't work and the windows don't open. With towels over their faces, they try not to panic. Lucas comforts Chloe, who is fairly calm. They can't find a way out and Chloe thinks they should split up.

Chloe finds Marlena and asks what's wrong with her and why she's there. Marlena looks toward the vent and Chloe tells her she'll find a doctor and be right back, but when she glances in a mirror, she sees that she has cuts and blood all over her face! She screams! Of course, she doesn't have any cuts on her face, or blood. It's a hallucination. She runs out of the room and bumps into Stefano. He tells her she looks marvelous and she tells him this can't be real. "You're supposed to be in a coma." He explains the situation is operatic, full of strange twists and turns. She should know about that, being that she's a singer. He asks if she's singing at the metropolitan yet. She ignores him. He's not supposed to be there. Chloe leaves to get help. "You're going to need it," Stefano tells her, laughing. He goes to Marlena.

Marlena watches with widened eyes as Stefano comes to her. "The tides are certainly turning," he says. He tucks her in and asks if she's comfortable. She blinks once. "No," he says, and tells her to get used to it. He removes the mask and waves the smoky substance in her face and asks if she thought she'd get away with paralyzing him. She underestimated him and always has.

Chloe finds Lucas and she yells at him to look at her face. "It's horrible." Lucas tells her there is nothing wrong with her face. She's hallucinating. Lucas realizes the smoky substance is a hallucinogenic. "It's probably Stefano," he says. Chloe nods. It was. She saw him outside of Marlena's room. Tony and John arrive just as she's telling this to Lucas, and they go off to Marlena's room. Lucas isn't seeing things, though he has a headache. He doesn't think Stefano's trying to kill them, but Chloe wonders. Lucas thinks Stefano has a score to settle with someone. Perhaps Dr. Evans? Chloe reminds Lucas that he shot EJ. Lucas starts to feel strange and lies down. He passes out and Chloe yells for him to wake up.

Trent and I are still married!

Outside Lucas's room, Nicole tells Chloe that Lucas will be fine, but Chloe is worried. He looks terrible. Nicole's surprised that Lucas is in maximum security. "That doesn't make sense."

In Lucas's hospital room, Roman asks Lucas what happened. In obvious pain, and looking like he has had a severe beating, Lucas shares, "I did what you asked and they almost killed me for it." He tells Roman his cover was broken. He got close to Manny Ortega, who was still trafficking drugs. He was talking to Manny about being moved to general population tomorrow but suddenly, he was jumped. He asks Roman if he has to go back to jail again. "You told me I'd be a free man." Chloe walks in. "You are?" Nicole tells him he looks like hell, and Roman allows Lucas to discuss things with the ladies while he leaves. Lucas lets them know he's being released from prison for making a deal with the feds. In exchange, the governor commuted his sentence. Nicole thinks Lucas is a great guy. She's happy he's going to be okay and tells him to rest up. She leaves Chloe with him and Chloe admits Nicole has been acting strange all day. "Did she suddenly grow a heart," Lucas asks. "The jury's still out on that," Chloe says. They admit they've been thinking of each other while he's been away.


Later, Chloe leaves Lucas with Roman and bumps into Nicole outside Lucas's door. Nicole tells her that Philip's doing fine and has a tip for Chloe. Turn around and walk away from Lucas as long as Sami's a part of his life! Chloe doesn't want to hear it. Nicole gets a call from Trent, who wants to know if she has found any information out about Max and why he's in France. She hasn't. "Work harder," he barks.


In Lucas's room, Lucas admits to Roman that he isn't sure where his home is, though he'll be let out in a few days. They discuss Sami and Lucas admits he loves her but doesn't answer when Roman asks if he wants to be with her.

A Gap In The Chain Of Evidence.

Morgan goes to an unconscious Philip and tells him if she could trade places with him, she would. She kisses him and tells him she's never felt this way about anyone. She thinks she's falling in love with him. Behind her, Chloe clears her throat. Morgan tells Chloe he's doing better. "I'm sure your love for him has saved his life," says Chloe, dryly. Hope interrupts and pulls Morgan outside. Chloe asks Philip how they ended up here. She will always be his friend and is trying not to be hurt but wished she had done all she could to keep him from getting involved with Morgan, so he wouldn't have gotten shot. She'll pray for him.

Outside Philip's room, Hope asks Morgan to go over the evidence once more. Once Morgan does that, Hope is confused as to where this proof is.

Morgan arrives back into Philip's room and she and Chloe make amends. Chloe wants Philip's happiness. If Morgan's right for Philip, she'll support it. Morgan isn't sure she's right for him, but they both agree that he deserves so much. Morgan promises not to hurt him and sits with him and flashes to a romantic dancing scene with Philip. After a while, Philip opens his eyes!
